The fish and shrimp was delicious.
Totally love the Catch. Everytime we drive in to Lubbock. To see our son at Tech.. This is our halfway stop for lunch every single time going to Lubbock and coming back home.
The food was ok. I wouldn't say it was fantastic. The price was disappointing as it was very overpriced for the amout of food you get. About $50 for everything you see in the photo...gumbo, gator and a fish/shrip combo without drinks.
I loved the grilled catfish, air conditioned outside patio, and environment.
My experience at the catch is always the greatest. Today I experienced a black very short hair lady waiting in the parking lot stating that her credit card was declined Because she did not have enough funds to pay for her meal and asked if I could put money on her cash app. I didn’t hear her well so all I heard was cash so I told her I have five dollars she rolled her eyes didn’t say anything and got back in her expensive white SUV. It was obvious that it was a scam. I’m glad I misunderstood her but either way I would not put money towards her cash app. She was parked at the very front of the catch at 9 PM July 1, 202.
Food was great but red beans and rice wasn't done at all was like a soup
I was super excited about this spot opening up in an area that has otherwise seen several establishments give it a shot over the past couple of years to no avail. Unfortunately, I feel like this one may suffer the same fate. The seafood here seems totally overpriced to me for the quality and portions. It is perfectly average in terms of flavor and menu options but sometimes your food doesn't come fresh, sometimes you get less pieces of certain items and it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth when there are other options (like Pappadeaux) less than 20 minutes away where you can expect some more consistency and generous platters. The parking lot and patio still seem pretty full when I drive by so things may have changed since my last visit but I likely will not return.
The catch was cold and gummy, the French fries was hard and cold along with the hush puppies . This food keeps getting worse! I will not return.
Food was great! I thoroughly enjoyed the catfish and the hush puppies. We ate on the patio and unfortunately the tables were a bit dirty, and disorganized. I don't think that area gets as much attention as inside, so of your a neat freak stick to inside.
All I could say is this is a diamond hiding deep in the crevices of a modest peaceful quiet community the catch has everything great Especially Erica love ask for Erica she's at the cashier she does everything she has a great attitude Emily's the manager and she had Erica's back and the customers back that's not an easy thing to do. Shout out to Erica for being so amazing it's not easy dealing with the plan and I've been here three times now she's consistent patient which is beyond me my bestie was so rude she was going through a rough time Erica was so kind and then Emily her manager had at the customers back and her staff back that's not easy thing to pull off nowadays and a shout out to Matthew but especially a shot out to the staff in the kitchen oh y'all know how to cook thank you thank you for the best food ever. And give five star ratings you honestly don't know what you missing. Drop the money
Dined in this past Saturday night around 7pm. It was not busy and the tables were spaced out adequately. Nice place, sport fisherman decor on the walls and the bar looked pretty cool. No music on at the time of our visit but plenty of tv's with sports on. Staff was friendly and helpful.First dish was a catfish po'boy with fries, the bread was really good but only 1 catfish filet per po'boy?!?!? I enjoyed the seasoning on the fries but didn't care for the actual fries.Second dish was whitefish tacos with red beans and rice. The 2 Tacos lacked seasoning and tortillas tasted identical to Kroger's brand (generic) tortillas. It came with jalapeño ranch which tasted nice. Red beans and rice was spot on?, they had a spicy kick to them. Kids meal was a 2 piece chicken tender basket w/fries. Chicken was on the dry side, fyi the fries had seasoning on them?.Honestly portions could've been a little more for the prices. This place didn't hit my "oh we're coming back here" button.
Got the shrimp double which included the etoufee. Was so disappointed it wasn't anything like the images & didn't have any of the veggies it's supposed to. This was 5-6 tiny boiled shrimp on a big bed of rice with some very very light & watery tomato sauce if you can call it that. Never getting that again.. The fried shrimp there is always delicious tho.
The clam chowder was awesome! Also, definitely try the mahi mahi tacos if you like fish tacos! Yummy hush puppies! So glad to finally try this place! Definitely a new favorite for my family!
Love the gumbo, great service and wonderful atmosphere with a cold beer! Right off I-20 too!
Catfish PO boy and seafood gumbo. Hit the spot!
