“This is my new favorite restaurant in Austin. Heard about it for years, and we finally got to try it.It's one of those places where every bite of food makes you smile because it's so surprisingly good. Trust me on this, just go and give it a try!We did the bar seating where we could watch the kitchen work, which is more fun than it sounds. The guy doing the food prep came over and chatted with us for a couple minutes and told us how much he loves it there. It shows on the faces of all the staff: I believe they're very proud of what they do, and they should be.Do yourself a favor: Go eat at Odd Duck!“
“Incredible food, service (I think our servers name was Phil- we loved him), & the ambience is fantastic. Get the loaded baked potato gnocchi as a side- must have. They put a special anniversary message on the table and dessert which we loved- felt so special“
“We had the BEST time here! We had their sourdough and butter to start, together with prawns in black garlic. My husband had the wagyu antelope burger and I had the pork chop (in the "petite" size, which was 14 oz). Dessert was the stout pie. Every single thing was a banger, including the drinks, and our server was so warm and helpful in explaining all the menu items. It was also one of the few restaurants we went to on our ATX trip that listened to the little note that said we were celebrating a birthday and put out a little dish of very delicious ice cream for my husband. Super thoughtful all around and an excellent experience. Will for sure think about this meal for a long time. ?“
“The first server was extremely rude. Maybe he was having a bad day, but that's no excuse. Bill, the manager, made it right. The food and the subsequent service were fantastic! Thanks, Bill!Parking: Only one ADA spot, which isn't surprising, given the extremely limited parking. I've been amazingly lucky all 3 times I've visited. Prepare for entitled jerks to block you in while they "just run in" for takeout.Wheelchair accessibility: There's a ramp up to the right for easy access.“
“This was our first time here and we went late in the day a hour before they closed. We waited about 15 minutes before anyone approached us. This was initially very concerning but then Jamua took charge and was an absolute joy to have as a server. She gave us the hospitality we were hoping for.“
“This place was beautiful. It was light, bright and had plants. Very visually appealing. There’s barely seating and booths. The place was empty when we arrived around 9:00 but then we left almost two hours later it was packed. Luckily, if you come and there’s no space you can leave your number and they’ll alert you when there’s room. The surrounding area has shops and cafes. It’s really cute.Parking is $$$$ we used the garage next to the restaurant and it was $20 for 1-2 hours. I feel that’s the standard rate here in Austin but back home this is astronomical.Anywho, onto the food! We started with drinks. I ordered the beet it juice which is made by the restaurant. I wished I could taste more ginger but I love beets and the apples added some sweetness. Super tasty! My husband got a latte. I ordered a pastry from the cafe in the corner of their spot. I ordered the last of this pastry which was a cross of a croissant and a muffin and it was stunning. The shape of a muffin but not much else to do with them. It was flakey, crusty, crunchy and had a hard glaze on top. The more I chewed the more flavour built up. You could taste the butter, the sweet and a little end note of salt. Absolutely perfect! We then got our main dishes which we shared. We ordered the açai bowl, the chia pudding and the banana walnut bread. The açai bowl was shockingly delicious. It was the closest bowl we’ve had to the ones we inhaled in Hawaii. Not grainy at all and super flavourful. The banana walnut bread was decadent. Very yummy and new as the top had a large fill up of mocha marscapone. A bit too rich for me but it was awesome to have a few bites of. Lastly was the chia pudding. Again, being spoiled in Hawaii I have a chia pudding idea in mind and this one was mixed with coconut milk making it much like children’s slime with styrofoam bits. I teach kindergarten and this was all I could think of! The flavours were nice but texture wasn’t the creamy concoction I’m used to.Overall, a great meal, lovely atmosphere and calming place to have a bite to eat. Next time I’d order an egg dish along my pastry and juice- the ribbon eggs looked so light and yummy! Definitely worth a visit!“
“This place was incredible. A very unique dining experience. The food is crafted over a wood fire. The beef tartare was one of the best I’ve ever had! Sourdough ice cream is taste so unique and different than anything I’ve tasted in a very long tim. Service was amazing as well.“
“Undoubtably the best Cajun food this town has to offer by far! The service is beyond exceptional. Meaning, the staff is friendly, timely and you would literally feel like you’re eating at your families house. I recommend Cypress Grill as weekly venture!Parking: PlentyWheelchair accessibility: Accessibility“
“I frequent this place at least once a year with friends to celebrate a Birthday. The varieties of foods are outstanding and the choice of beers and IPA's are amazing, Barnun, hands down, the best atmosphere and service.Parking: Parking is depending on patients they have a very Revolving door parking lot. People tend to eat and go so there's constantly someone moving out of a spot otherwise there's a street barking for free in the back.Kid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Flat entrance in the back gate to the patio and The walk up entrance is a ramp not stairs in the front door.“
“My partner and I ate here recently for a birthday breakfast, and the experience exceeded our expectations. This is easily my favorite breakfast I've had in Austin in the 12+ years I've lived here, and the service was excellent. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the goat cheese grits and the sage sausage gravy were standouts.“
“I'm visiting family again and this was a great stop. I love their appetizers - the hummus and the shishito peppers are amazing. And they will bring you more veggies and pita for the hummus if needed. I love their fall wedge salad, and their burgers look amazing! The server was great, and took very good care of us on their patio, turning on the heater for my granddaughter. The only disappointment was that they were out of Hefeweizen! The skinny margarita was delicious. Overall, a good experience!“
“I love down the street and love the people who work here. Everyone’s really nice! They are known for their bacon which I’ve tried before (thick and delicious) but…I’m trying to stay away lol! This time I got the fried chicken and grits which has goat cheese. Very different and not a fan of goat cheese but it’s subtle. My boyfriend got the chicken and biscuits . It was a nice serving size! The chicken in both dishes was perfectly crispy and moist at the same time. Side of potatoes was soft and seasoned well. My only complaint was the first serving of coffee wasn’t hot. But second refill was perfect! I went at 9am on a Monday and there wasn’t a line but normally there’s a long line out the door on weekends! Check out the wait time on GoogleParking: They have a lot but shares with the gas station and Kelly’s Irish pub“
“Perfectly prepared Seafood, comfortable but elegant ambiance, and a great location. A nice high end but low-key spot right near the iconic Austin music spot, Antone’s.The kind crab was perfectly cooked. The braised greens had the subtlest kiss of Serrano pepper. It is seafood with a whisper of the south. The chef is James Beard award winning MASHAMA BAILEY of Savanah, so that makes a lot of sense. The vibe was relaxed but high-end.They bill this as a southern spot. I think it is more a seafood place with a whisper of the South (not to be confused with “Texan cuisine” a cousin but something entirely its own thing.)The restroom is hard to find - it is in the hotel lobby but they do not have good signage. It is buried in the back of a second elevator bank area. They have a neon sign in a different spot announcing that it is NOT the restroom - but nothing of its equal to show you where you should go / where it is.They set up shop diagonally across from Eddie V’s (seafood and chop house) which has been there for decades.Vegetarian options: This was the one area of real opportunity: there were very few options for a vegetarian / vegansDietary restrictions: Greedy for keto and gluten allergy folks!Parking: No garage. No street parking $15 for first 3 hours of valet.Kid-friendliness: Not a kid spot.Wheelchair accessibility: Very wheelchair accessible throughout“
“We were blown away by this place! Service was outstanding, but the food was next level. We ordered the salad, shishito peppers and nuts for an appetizer and then came the smash burgers. Everything was so good! We finished our meal with the best carrot cake any of us have ever had. We’re already planning our next visit. Highly recommended!“
“In the shadowed heart of an unnamed town, under a cloak of starless night, there exists a culinary enigma known as The Well. This isn't just any dining establishment; it's a place where the boundaries between the mundane and the extraordinary blur, where each dish served is a chapter in an unfolding mystery. Our tale begins with an unsuspecting patron, drawn by whispers of The Well's legendary carne asada tacos. With the first bite, an adventure commences. The meat, tender as a secret revealed in the dark, carries with it a flavor so profound, it's as if it was marinated in the essence of a long-lost love. The avocado, however, is where the plot thickens. Lush and verdant, it hides beneath its creamy surface a twist so unexpected, it could only be likened to finding your soulmate, only to discover they have a twin. Evil? Perhaps. Delicious? Undoubtedly. But what is a tale of intrigue without a potion to bewitch the senses? Enter the hot chocolate with honey. A concoction so beguiling, it's as if it was brewed in the cauldron of a witch residing at the crossroads of reality and enchantment. Each sip sends the drinker spiraling deeper into a narrative of their own making, where shadows dance at the edge of vision, and the sweetness of honey masks a darkness lurking beneath. And then, the crispy Brussels sprouts, a dish that could only be the brainchild of a culinary mad scientist. They arrive at the table, innocuous, almost. But with each bite, a cacophony of sound erupts, echoing like the footsteps of a specter haunting the halls of an ancient, forgotten mansion. This dish, however, harbors a secret more sinister than its brethren. For within its crispy layers lies a plot most foul, a scheme to ensnare the senses and bind them in a spell of irresistible craving. As our patron navigates this gastronomic labyrinth, they find themselves ensnared in a narrative that weaves together the threads of horror and romance, of laughter and fear. Each dish is a character, each flavor a twist in the plot, leading them ever deeper into the mystery of The Well. But beware, dear reader, for this tale does not end as you might expect. For in the world of The Well, the line between the eater and the eaten blurs, and one can never be sure whether they are the protagonist of this story or merely another dish to be served. So, if you find yourself drawn to this place of culinary intrigue, remember: The Well is not just a restaurant; it's a journey into the heart of flavor itself, where every bite is a step down a path from which there may be no return.“
“Ryan was our server. Incredible service and knowledge of food and wine. Completely affable as well as professional. Really couldn't have asked for more. Food was delicious and perfectly portioned with enough options for my pescatarian wife. Wine and cocktail list were both varied and exciting.“
“This place is great. Our server, Cory, took care of us. The cauliflower and Brussels sprouts sides were amazing! Really good drinks, I enjoyed their MPC mocktail but the rest of our table raved about the Fox Photo and Travelers Palm. Don’t skip on their desserts either the Birthday Cake Ice Cream Sandwich is delicious as well as the Espresso Chai Mousse cake. Overall great experience.“
“This is the second time I've been to olamaie and it's got to be the most overpriced restaurant in Austin I think the service was phenomenal and the overall atmosphere is great but the food does not live up to its price it's overly rich and sometimes way too many ingredients trying way too hard it does have some really great notes but overall I can't highly recommend something that's too expensive and doesn't meet its valueWow I must have not been in a good place mentally when I reviewed last time. I can remember the time I was here it was definitely not in the relationship I am in now, who you are with who sees you, who loves you is everything the person that I'm with all the food I get to try is beautiful and wonderful and exceptional Simply because of the person that I get to call my partner and my love. This was our first time together at Olamaie and the food was exceptional oysters Rockefeller, the really delicious hush puppies our cocktails we're sensational, the Jefferson rice was shrimp was so good the texture is amazing and of course the biscuits are perfect. We really really loved it and can't wait to come back and enjoy it again thank you to the staff and the kitchen who put together a brilliant dinner for us thank you.Who you are with really does make all the difference in the world, you see the world brighter, more colorful more beautiful. Hope becomes a common feeling instead of despair. thank you my love for loving me and seeing me the way you do you've given me everything I need And so much more with you holding my hand I see the world so much better than I did before. Can't wait to come back to holiday just the 2 of us for another romantic evening I can't wait for all the honeymoons to come I can't wait to say of course. I love you To The Moon & Back in 5 steps more????“
“Every ingredient/item was a good quality and tasted great. I was surprised at how reasonable the cost was for such good quality and fresh ingredients. It was like eating in Europe where they actually feed you ingredients that are good for your body and you feel BETTER after eating instead of like death at most American restaurants.“
“We were surprised with our experience here. We didn't have the highest expectations for a hotel restaurant far from the main drags of restaurants downtown. Luckily, the food was great, the environment was sophisticated, and the service was excellent. Hoping to come back and try other dishes. I really think it was the staff that made our experience stand apart. While waiting for a table, we had fun conversation with the bartender (Mr. Coral, but we never caught his first name). Our server Jeremiah paid very careful attention to us and made intelligent suggestions by reading between the lines. We also had a good laugh with him and our food runner. Everyone there took really good care of us and that makes us want to come back.“
“I went to Arlo Grey while I was in Austin on a work trip. We stayed at The Line where the restaurant is located. The food, the accommodations for dietary restrictions, the drinks and staff were all top-tier. Our waiter, Brandon, was fantastic. We appreciated that we had a waiter who thoughtfully recommended items that vegans and gluten-free guests could enjoy with the group. And there's a lazy Susan in the middle of some of the tables. The precision and care that our food was laid out and spinned to the correct person 10/10 times. It was clear the chef and owners put a lot of thought into the concept but also into their team on the front side of the house.I would definitely go back the next time I'm in Austin. Cheers, Bran! You rock!Dietary restrictions: The staff was very accommodating.“
“I probably had the best brisket I have ever had while eating here. Every piece of meat I had was just amazing, everything was cooked perfectly with amazing flavor. Even though the wait to order was long, it was definitely worth it. The restaurant is part of a street that is filled with art which makes it a great place to look around. Overall, I had a great time here and the food was beyond amazing. I would totally recommend this place if you are looking for some great barbecue.-Siena, 11 years“
“Staff friendly, quality ingredients used. Two things wish all MML restaurants would offer is 1-2 seasonal specials besides the regular menu. Also, 3 of the bottle of wines we tried to select were out of stock. Server tried to offer more expensive. Feel possibly offering a wine at the same price point 1 of the 3 that weren't available.“
“This place was amazing ?!!! Can you guys please please !!! Come to North Austin I will come every day!!! I had breakfast and a to go sandwich!! The sandwich was sooooooo amazing and very generous positions!! I'd be there every day seriously if it were not so far!!! This is one of my new favorite place but I unfortunately don't go this far usually!! Love it!!“
“I ordered the gumbo, crab cakes, and bread pudding. All three were great, but the gumbo and breadpudding had me licking my lips for days after my visit. Our server, Kassie, was attentive and welcoming and the rest of the staff were just as lovely. I was overly disappointed to discover they are not open on Mondays, but the next time I’m in the Austin area I will be returning.“
“One of our favourite date night spots in Austin.Beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff, great food & drinks. We're from Canada but come back every time we are in Austin, it's the one place we recommend to literally everybody we can.I don't know what it is about this place but it's seriously so special :)“
“Such a cool and historic house. The atmosphere is amazing and there are many peacocks on the grounds. I've been twice now and overall only about a 1/4 of the dishes we ordered were superb. The rest were either too salty, lackluster, or just ok. If you live in Austin it's worthwhile to go here at least once to see and experience the property, but the food was less spectacular than I would have expected for the price.“
“I would travel mountains and oceans just to have another bite of the beet salad (The Beet Goes On). Amazing taste, the combination of the goat cheese that melts in your mouth and pistachios that give you a crunchy texture is spectacular. We also had the Asian Chopped Salad, and it left us refreshed and ready to slay. Really nice vibe, especially outside, great service from JerBear. We will come again at night time to eat in the backyard when it is lit up.Vegetarian options: You have the option to add vegetarian proteins to any salad.“
“Food was delicious - guava danish & the tomato, basil, and cheese danish were definite highlights. Earl grey cold brew was also great! The service was great & the food came out very fast. Plus with nice weather the rooftop/patio seating is super nice.“
“My improv group and I come here every Thursday after class. We love the food and cheap drinks and usually stay until close. Parking is kind of annoying, so is finding a seat (our group is usually 6-8 people so that makes sense), but that’s just a testament to the popularity of this place and the neighborhood. We once tried a different spot after class in search of more space, but it just didn’t feel right, so we came back to our tried and true Workhorse.“
“We didn’t realize that this place was as fancy as it turned out to be when we descended upon them with our tennis shoes and our 2 year old toddler! The restaurant staff appeared un phased by us, which we very much appreciated! Was nice to have a great dinner, we don’t get that as much as we used to with our little kiddo. The food was fantastic! Everything we ate was delicious and different. Would highly recommend the tator tots side, and I had the lamb entree, which was amazing.“
“I’ve been here multiple times over the past three years and have had primarily good experiences. However, I once received a piece of meat in my vegetarian taco, which was deeply unpleasant. Although I was offered a free taco coupon in response to this, I would appreciate if the staff takes extra care to ensure vegetarian tacos are vegetarian.“
“These guys hit the ball out of the park every time. Top recs on gnocchi, steak, or ask about specials. But you can’t go wrong with anything and these guys are so friendly. They put a lot of heart into the food and the quality is top notch. Hyde Park’s best kept secret, no doubt.“
“Fantastic! Very busy on Saturday morning. It was an hour wait so we ordered ot to go and took it to our Hotel room. Everything was Freaking Fantastic! We had pecan pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs and bacon. Just freaking Delicious! Best breakfast restaurant probably in TX.“
“We had a group work event and the package we got was the middle one. Food was great and we had plenty of food. Lots of beer and cocktail options so everyone seemed happy to pick their own poison. Shuffleboard competition was fun, even competing with other locations while playing.“
“Simply exquisite food. Popovers. Beautiful fish. Amazingly good steaks. Leave room for dessert! The extensive wine list is thorough. Perfect music, lighting, cocktails. I feel the smaller dining room has gotten a bit drab but with the attentive wait staff and food it is more than ok. Been coming here for decades and always will.“
“Madison burger was amazing and chili Verde fries are a must have! A little slow to order and receive food, but it's sooo worth the wait. The music was good, but a little loud for early afternoon. It was hard to talk with people at my table. I would still 100% recommend and go there every time I travel to Austin.“
“Every now and then the taco of the week feels like a gastronomical revelation and I'm happy they keep experimenting. All the staple menu items are good. They might not be what you're looking for if you have Mexican tacos in mind, so you'll need to be open on your first visit. The namesake red velvet is inconsistent ??♂️. Thoroughly appreciate that they're open late.“
“I've been back for brunch and dinner on numerous occasions. Brunch is still terrific whether it's the Benny or the zucchini bread or the popovers or... Burger is big and juicy. We've never had a bad fish. Done holiday take out too. It's fun to sit at the counter and watch the kitchen action. The prices remain reasonable. Enjoyed sitting outside for a change.“
“Thanks to Denver, I look for this restaurant in every state I travel, so when I got to Austin the first thing I did was look to see if they had one.. Off the plane and took Uber there and got that crab and asparagus omelet, strawberries and cream pancake and a piece of their famous chicken sausage. 3rd location I've visited and the vibe, customer service and food have been consistent. THAT'S WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!! Snooze you have done it again.. Would I recommend? Every single time over and over.. Well done!!Parking: Plenty to accommodate the influx of patrons who want to try delicious foods and cocktails“
“I always enjoying eating at Ranch Hand! Their menu is fairly condensed, but they have great options. Their organic bowls are made with locally sourced ingredients and everything tastes so fresh. I always add a fried egg on top and it never disappoints. Very cozy and cool atmosphere with a coffee/pastry shop located right next to it.“
“I came here with hubby and one of our kids who was craving a burger. I haven’t been to JAK for quite a while because it was good but it wasn’t memorable. Boy, was I glad I decided to come back!! We got the shrimp fundido which was delicious when paired with the perfectly grilled tortillas. Then, we got a Caesar salad with Ruby trout - we were thinking it would come with a small piece of fish but wow, they don’t skimp on fish servings! It was so good. Then, we got the beef barbacoa enchiladas- the escabech was perfect since it needed acidity. And it was a good portion size to share. My daughter got the Killer Burger and she could barely finish it! She said it was exactly what she was craving, cooked to Medium temperature.“
“Corner Star Outstanding Dining at in Austin, TXMy recent visit to Corner Star in Austin, TX was exceptional. From the welcoming ambiance to the impeccable service provided by Mary], every moment was delightful. The food was exquisite, with each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The cocktails were expertly crafted, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. I highly recommend Mary at Corner Star for an unforgettable dining experience in Austin.“
“Step into Dirty Martin's Place and you'll swear you've entered a time machine set to "blast from the past." The decor screams retro chic louder than your grandma's polyester pantsuit, and the customer service? It's so classic, you'll half expect the staff to break out into a rendition of "Grease Lightning."Now, let's talk burgers. The OT Burger is like the reliable friend who's always there for you, simple yet oh-so-satisfying. It's like biting into a slice of nostalgia with each mouthful. And those buffalo wings? They're so good, they'll make you forget your manners faster than a Texas tornado. But wait, there's more! The house-made lemonade is like a sip of liquid sunshine, guaranteed to put a smile on your face faster than a dad joke at a family reunion. So, if you're tired of the hipster haunts and looking for a taste of the good ol' days, Dirty Martin's Place is where it's at. Just remember to leave your skinny jeans at home and bring your appetite for fun—and maybe a spare pair of stretchy pants. You'll thank me later.“
“second time there. We went on a Saturday 11:15! The restaurant was busy. the wait time. was 20 minutes since we were a party of 5. Spencer was our waiter and he was great! The food was very good. If you are going on a weekend, check the wait time and sign in on their website.“
“This is a food truck, and parking can be rough but the food was good. The gentleman greeted me as I walked up and was super friendly. The food was ready quickly. I got the Gimme burger with okra. It's a hearty burger, very filling and very tasty. The okra was fried well and salted. Worth another trip.“
“The food here is great and I love that they give you the choice of lean or fatty meat. But what most impressed me is that I was traveling for work when I went but when I was doing my expense report, I realized that I had somehow misplaced my receipt. They were kind enough to search for the transaction and texted it yo me when they found it. I really appreciated their willingness to go out of their way to help me and the friendly manner with which the request was received. I love this place. Will definitely be back and highly recomment the brisket to anyone who has never tried it. The ribs are amazing as well.“
“Curly fries and burgers are always good. Their special sauce is pretty nice as well. I asked about gluten-reduced beers and the server wasn't entirely certain, responding that "probably the rice lager" was. But I'm not Celiac so it's not a huge problem for me.“
“The food is really great but the service leaves a lot to be desired. To start, there is no parking and to use valet costs money regardless of whether you dine at the restaurant. The service from the earlier was subpar but good from supporting staff. If our server said “aromatic” another time it would have been really annoying. Food was really good but service made it feel not special and because of that I don't see myself going back great Cacio e Pepe.“
“Only had afternoon drinks. Marissa is excellent to chat with and keeps the bar flowing. We tried to come back after dinner and show, but it was fully booked with a few huge parties that were extremely loud, even from inside the elevator several floors away. We'll be back for another show in October and hope to try the snack!“
