“It was my first time there and I wasn't sure on what to expect. It was actually pretty nice. There are two pool tables and some video games that reminded me of the 1980s. They also have a fairly large amount of ice-cream options. There is a menu written on a chalkboard on a wall. There are several food options also. It is a great place for a small birthday party for children.Kid-friendliness: There were several children there and they were all running around having a lot of fun.”

“Went to eat dinner and we ordered the fish tacos and they were delicious. Plus my better half loves the desserts they have which change every time we go. Another thing I like to eat there is the fajita torta, it's one of my favorites. Atmosphere is good with Mexican music and large TV's on the wall. “Came to visit my family. First time coming to eat at Calacas In Harlingen. Jessica is a superb waitress. Gave awesome service. Good was delicious. There was not a lot of waiting on the order. Love their patio setting outside. My family and I truly recommend everyone to stop by and have the delicious tacos, Pancho’s and the best Limonadas preparadas!!Parking: It’s parking lot is not only infront but also in the sides!Kid-friendliness: It’s a great place to come eat and hang with your kids.”

“My husband and I stop by about once a week together, and he also meets people there for meetings. We love it! The coffee is always great! My favorite is the iced mexican vanilla latte. My hubby gets a hot chai with oat milk.In case you're lactose intolerant, the cow milk is lactose free automatically, which is super awesome, no upcharge.The atmosphere is laid back and kinda hippie like inside, it's very clean and bright enough to work but dark enough it's comfortable.The staff is always friendly too!”

“I found this bar by doing a search for a fruit bowl on Google maps. My husband likes these and we just moved to the area. Usually I go to Smoothie King, but the pictures for MOFI looked pretty cool...so when I got there and the mixologist was so great and helpful with answering my questions and making me feel welcome!! ☺️ I will be going back to purchase other wholesome/organic items that they sell!!”

“A friend told us about this bakery. It is by far the BEST pan dulce I have ever had…and I’m 60 years old. I was in Olmitos for a visit and for our 3 hour drive home we picked up a few bags. It’s been 5 days now and I put the Pan dulce in my Tupperware container and it’s still soft. They had pan dulce we hadn’t heard of before. The lady behind the counter was very nice, she told us about each of our choices and the different fillings.You gotta stop by and pick some up ❣️??”

“All the sweet bread tasted fresh. Lots of variety to choose from. I like that the bread is behind the counter and the staff bags it for you instead of having the customer handle the bread.Parking: On street parking fills up quickly in front of the bakery and across the street but people are buying bread to go.”

“Stopped to eat here on our way back home, very authentic Mexican flavor. Definitely recommend the tostada bowl for breakfast, the migas & American breakfast. Just with that I can imagine all else is great! Will recommend & stop by again. So good I forgot to take pics of the food lol. Enjoy!”

“I had the veggie omelette. Rather bland tasting until I spiced it up with some salsa. I chose the hash browns and wheat toast. Itty bitty toast with some tasty spread on it. A generous helping of golden brown hash browns. Service was quick and pleasant.”

“Absolutely loved my Chicharrón Calacas! Just came down from Houston to visit friends and my first absolute stop in the valley had to be Calacas. My server Ali was amazing! She really tended to my needs and made sure my experience at Calacas was truly unforgettable. I will definitely request for her services again, next time. The Chicharrón was crispy and juicy. “We have been regulars here for years. It isn't anything fancy, but in an area that is drowning in Mexican food at every corn, this good old American food is refreshing. If you come from the midwest like me, you will love their food. Menu is burgers, chicken, pork chops, big breakfast menu. Their fresh brewed tea is the best in this area...made with fresh filtered water the tea taste awesome. Our servers are long time workers, they do their best to tend to you. This place is VERY busy. It's only open breakfast and lunch.”

“It was a unique barbecue place, with giant pitchers of tea per person and bean soup brought to the table, for someone living in the Midwest. I had the triple combo of chicken, brisket, and ribs. The chicken and brisket was way above average. The barbeque sauce made everything better.”
