Lucy’s Snackbar is somewhere I want to root for, but it is suffering from some structural/procedural issues with their service. When I went, I ordered an iced coffee, a s’mores brownie (which was incredible), and a breakfast sandwich (which was fine). The people working there seem like very nice and well intentioned, but the brownie was handed to me in a waxed paper folded thing that didn’t really make sense whether I was eating it there or taking it to go. When I stood up at the bar in an attempt to get a fork, all the employees who saw me ignored me as if coming to help me would have constituted something outside their job description, which was rather frustrating. When food is ready, someone brings it to the bar, sets it out and yells out the title of the dish and then walks away. Half the shop’s seating is outside so there’s a really good chance that your food will be ready and you won’t know. It’ll sit there getting cold because the person who made it completed their job and that’s that. The service problems were made even more stark when we went around the corner to a bakery where everything was running smoothly because they had figured out a system for getting orders out and all the employees seemed on-board with being in the service industry and knew that no tasks were outside their purview. Maybe what I experienced was just an odd day at Lucy’s but if it operates like this on-the-regular, I would expect it to go out of business soon, which sucks because it’s the type of business I’d normally support and root for.

I was around the Corpus Christi area and decided to try this place out. I’m glad I chose Lucy’s Snackbar for a place to eat with my bf. We ordered the loaded waffles. Although their waffle maker was turning on and off , the employees were nice enough to give us a charcuterie board for the wait and they apologized for the wait which I thought was super sweet of them , although it wasn’t much of a bother to me and my bf. The atmosphere was really nice and the restaurant was really clean and organized. We recommend the loaded waffles because the taste to the waffles and fruit was delicious. One of the employees was really sweet and she complimented my makeup. Definitely will go back again to eat there.

I was taking a trip to Corpus Christi area, and was looking for a place that would serve like breakfast. Somehow I ended up here, and I will say this, the place was great. The inside of the place was so nice and gave really chill vibes. Loved how the place was clean and organized. The people there were really nice and the food was great. I got the loaded waffles and it was the best, would literally drive the 3 hours just for those waffles. Thank you for the amazing seevice

It would be wise to keep your political opinions to yourself. Walked in and walked right back out. Ate at a beautiful bakery down the street that had a lovely atmosphere that didn't shove opposing views down my throat.

Stopped here for a morning treat while in CC off a recommendation. I was not highly impressed, the ambience gave a local feel with a bit rustic. The barstools were metal & wobbly, not very comfortable at all. Their avocado ? toast was amazing but the coffee was mediocre. The prices were high for CC, but the kicker was NOT getting free coffee refills! I feel if you are going to over charge the least you can do is offer free refills. A bit disappointing. ☕️- Happy Eating!

Prior to this afternoon, this was my go-to place for study sessions alongside rich, nutty, balanced coffee.My friend and I stopped by today to study and caffeinate. My friend was immediately stopped upon entering. She was carrying a Stanley water thermos. She was snapped at by a gentlemen, who we later learned is the “half-owner.” He instructed she take her ‘outside food and drink’ out of the coffee bar immediately. It was her water. You know, for hydration?We clarified with the baristas afterward if she was permitted to have her water. We told them it’s fine if not, but we would be leaving if there was an issue. They said it was fine.While we were there, we saw other patrons of the coffee bar get snipped at. I’m completely understanding of the policy stating no outside food or drink. It would be rude to bring in a competitor’s coffee, for example. This instance, however, just felt odd, excessive, and unnecessary.The three stars I am leaving are for the baristas who are always joyful and happy to assist. They also know how to make an excellent cortado. The food always tastes incredibly fresh and comes out relatively quickly.

The kindest baristas work here that serve with a great smile, are willing to help with any information regarding to their menu or pieces sold in their store, and happily hype up and recommend local restaurants in their surrounding area. It's a great place to study, a perfect hangout, and a cute coffee date place. This was a great place to be, and I cannot wait to come again!
