Enjoyed every moment... Great views of the gulf, good lighting, comfortable chairs... the waiter was fun and easy to talk to, he knew exactly what to recommend and the water is good... I don't usually drink water from restaurants, but this one is like wow... Totally going again soon!!!

Solo diner, I had a 6:30 pm reservation on a Thursday hoping to miss the crowd. Views of the shipping channel, new bridge construction, Art Museum, Aquarium, the Lexington, Corpus Christi Bay, and downtown were phenomenal. I had perused the menu ahead of time, so, after 15 minutes of warm bread and water, I ordered my entree, 8 ounce filet and a side of Brussels sprouts with pork belly, and a glass of house Merlot. The wine with bread kept me occupied while enjoying pop music from the likes of Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift to Bruno Mars. Not quite 25 minutes later, my medium rare, cooked to perfection, although not entirely warm filet, was delivered, along with a second glass of Merlot., and the side. The pork belly was more of a suggestion than actual accompaniment to the Brussels sprouts, but the dish was delicious. Overall, I was impressed with the meal, which set me back $97.97 before tip. I was celebrating Leap Year, so it will be a while before I splurge like this again.

We had an amazing breakfast at Republic of Texas - unbelievable view!! We loved the food, and our server Valerie went above and beyond to make our son’s birthday special!!

The staff is incredibly friendly, the one drawback on the time I was there was the volume of the live band. I felt that my conversation was loud and having to yell over the music. The food is not compatible to the price point. These prices are Vegas high. Great for a nice date out.

Ate there for the 1st time 2-10-2024. It was not crowded at all however service throughout the hour and a half was less to be desired. It took 30 minutes for appetizer to come out and it was barely warm. I had the fresh catch which was over cooked, my lady had the peppered tenderloin which was like the appetizer barely warm. I found out later from another hotel guest that the food is not cooked on the restaurant floor but somewhere on ground level. $180.00 later ( no alcohol) and the only thing I could say is well been there done that. No I'm not being a complainer I love food especially that first bit that I say wow, not the case here. And no management does not need to respond with the typical call who ever so we can discuss this further, everything has been listed in this post.

Beautiful views from the dining area. Service was better than I've seen in some time. The meal was phenomenal. My spouse was not as enthused with the sauce on his seafood pasta dish, but my salmon and asparagus were perfect! Just a note, expect to pay for the service and delight to your palate. Our meal came to approximately $127 without the tip; it was worth every penny. The asiago (I'm assuming by taste it was asiago) bread is fresh and scrumptious, I could not get enough. There's nothing better than eating fresh warm bread. My only negative is that there were gnats flying around while trying to enjoy our meal. At one point I stopped consuming my lemonade because a gnat landed on the edge of the glass. That was it for me.

One of the nicest restaurants in corpus. Beautiful view, great food. They have a “vegetarian special” but every time we have been there it seems to just be mushroom ravioli, would be nice to see them mix it up. Some items have small portions for the price, others are a good value. I ordered a steak and it was cooked exactly how I asked and was very good. Overall, while there are definitely things that could be improved, it's still one of my favorite places to go in corpus and I will continue to go.

You are definitely paying for the view. The service was decent, not anything memorable about it for sure. The food was good, not anything that was amazing. I ordered the filet mignon, then my husband and I split the macaroni and cheese and a Cesar salad. The macaroni and cheese looked like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for a few minutes too long. The steak was tasty. I think the most impressive presentation and tasting was the crème brûlée. It pretty awesome and tasted even better. I was disappointed because when I made reservations here I specifically said we were celebrating my husband's birthday. There was no mention whatsoever at dinner time by the wait staff of my husband's birthday. Why ask if we are celebrating anything if you are not going to do anything special. I don't think we will return on our next visit for Corpus Christi. For what we paid I am certain we find a place in Corpus Christin that covers all of this and more.

We had our dinner & stay here last night for our 4 year anniversary and the service by our actual waiter was terrible. If it wasn’t for the lady(katya) that filled our drinks multiple times, took our dirty plates and checked on us. We wouldn’t have been taken care of. Our actual waiter acted as if we were not important to him so he didn’t acknowledge that we were there. The Crab Fondue was pretty good. The Au Gratin Potatoes were alright. Could’ve been cooked slightly less but that’s ok. My meal which was the Seafood Pescatore Pasta was terrible. The fish that came on top was very over cooked and the sauce was so salty that I couldn’t handle it but I can say that the shrimp was good and not over cooked. So I was very disappointed that I barely got to eat anything besides the bread and shrimp. My spouse ordered the 12 oz Prime New York Strip and he was very pleased with that but with all this being said, we sadly won’t be returning back.

We go to The Republic of Texas a couple of times a year-on our anniversary & other special occasions. This occasion was our oldest daughter's 21st birthday. It was her first time thereI figured a Tuesday night NOT during the holidays would be easy! We waited almost TWO HOURS for our food. Our reservation was at 7:30. We ordered approximately 8-8:15. Our food arrived at almost 10 pm! One of my friends had her food sent back- she can't eat that late at night. My husband even walked around the restaurant looking for our waitress to find out what was taking so long. I thought a manager or hostess or SOMEONE might come talk to us to apologize. I figured we'd get an appetizer while waiting or get our first round of drinks comped. NO. NOTHING. The food was good, as always & our waitress did the best she could. Maybe they were short staffed. It was pretty crowded at the bar. Our drinks were VERY GOOD. But we have NEVER waited this long at a restaurant before. And it was FREEZING in there! I was pretty disappointed no one spoke to us. For the amount of money we spent that night I expected more. Will think twice before going back. ?

We stayed at the Omni Corpus Christi for two nights and had the pleasure to dine at Republic of Texas both evenings. The hotel is very nice and the views are enchanting, but Republic was still the crown jewel of our staycation. We've visited a lot of pricey steakhouse-themed restaurants, and sometimes that seems to be code for, "we're going to pretend to be a fine dining establishment long enough to justify steep prices, but our food and service belong in a much cheaper place." Having had this Mercedes-Benz-chuckwagon experience a few times, we wondered if Republic of Texas could live up to its penthouse reputation. Let me tell you...it does all of that and then some. This is one of the best restaurants on the extra-long Texas coast. Amazing meats, delicious options for seafood lovers and vegetarians, creative cocktails (all those herbs! swoon!), decadent desserts. I'm not picky about most food, but I am about shrimp. (Who wants to gnaw on tough, overcooked, poorly cleaned shrimp with an unpleasant under taste of its alimentary canal, i.e., that dark "vein" up the back?) Republic served what was without question the best shrimp cocktail I've ever had, right down to an amazing, house-made, vodka-spiked cocktail sauce. The service from Brittany was warm, professional and flawless, so much so that we made sure to sit at her tables both nights. And if you're a whiskey lover, this is the place to indulge in items not often found in most places. Many bravos, Republic of Texas!
