“Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)Review:Đông Hải Restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves every bit of its five-star rating. The service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff. The home-style food hit the spot, offering authentic Vietnamese flavors that were both comforting and satisfying. The tea was hot and fresh, adding to the overall delightful experience. The inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. I highly recommend Đông Hải Restaurant.“
“All I got to say best to call in, or you going to be late getting back to work, if you on lunch break, and you just have 30 minutes you going to be late, and sometimes they tell you a time but don't listen to it, at least you have a hour for lunch, you will be just fine.“
“Just ate dinner here. We got the Garlic Shrimp, Peking Pork Chop, and Fried Half Chicken. The food was amazing and so was the service!!The flavors hit the palate in the best way. Garlic Shrimp was deeply savory, all the veggies were crisp and texturally lovely, the shrimp was a great size! The Peking Pork Chop was sweet and tangy, had an edge of bbq flavor and just a hint of heat with a delicious mix of onions and peppers. The chicken was moist and perfectly salted. Everything was hot, an amazing portion size, and a great price. But more than anything I want to say the service was PHENOMENAL. Everyone was so nice, totally patient, and our server was so helpful in clarifying how the things we ordered would come out. She even boxed up our leftovers!I just felt so comfortable. It was raining, I had a pot of tea, and there was no rush to leave. Exquisite sense of peace. I'll be back many times.“
“Authentic style Orange Chicken $7.25 w/ Rice & Soup or Egg roll for lunch or dinner. Chinese owner is the cook and everything made with love V/S the normal mass produced cheap chinese common at a buffet. A few photos as proof of my addiction ? Menu is last ?“
“The food was great and I appreciated Carol's help in deciding what to choose. He was great in getting me a " to- go- bag" for my left overs. It's nice when the servers like their jobs and pay attention to the customers, he made my day.“
“Been coming to this restaurant my family since I was a kid back in 1997 always great food and the owners are always so kind and welcoming to everybody that comes in. Had them cater our wedding in 2022Kid-friendliness: It's always been kid friendly they used to have a bunch of fish in their tanks and at one point they had a bunch of giant Oscars when we were kids and a bunch of little cichlids“
“Absolutely the best!!! I always get the number one “Chris’s fried rice” the food is always on point fresh lots of flavor., prices and portions are reasonable. Friendly staff.. I wish be they had more locations in Dallas. As It’s a little far for me, but it’s definitely worth the drive.“
“Good food and very generous portions. This is my second time calling in to order togo and I recommend you to try this place for lunch if you are in the area. No reason to go to fast food. As for their meat, they are just tenderized. The previous reviews don't know what they are talking about. Many American-Chinese style restaurant tenderizes their meat. This is normal style of cooking.“
“A friendly place to meet each other with birthday parties, festivals between friends and enthusiastic musicians ???? ?? ?Especially chef Vinh cooks well and sings well and interacts with customers ?And the restaurant owner is so enthusiastic ?“
“This place is pretty good for Chinese & Chinese inspired food. My family & I had the roast duck and crispy noodles with seafood. Not to mention we had a variety of dim sum, which they offer all day! If you’re looking into dim sum, I suggest ordering a few then ordering more if needed. All of our orders were made fresh. Please keep in mind that not all staff are fluent in English, but their work ethic is good. Staff was kind enough to give us a gift card since we paid our bill full in cash; it was worth 10% of our total bill. Will definitely swing by again when we’re around the area. After all, we have a gift card to use lol“
“I've been wanting to try the Banh Xeo for a year!!! But I usually get off work late so by the time I try to order it they've already closed. Good thing on sundays they open slightly later so I was able to order 1 to go and it was delicious! It's slightly more expensive than Bistro B's, like by $1-2, but the difference in the price is totally worth it! I find that their banh Xeo isn't as oily and still filled with delicious goodness. Literally I was staying away from eating banh Xeo for a while cause so many places made it so oily that it would give me stomach aches, but thank goodness la xanh's isn't oily whatsoever!I'm definitely coming back in the future to get more banh Xeo!“
“Funny how our life circle brings us back to places! I use to eat Uncle Wing's every week! Here I am, 30 years later, back home! And out of the corner of my eye I see, Uncle Wing's! Still in the same place!! The food is still amazing! Actually, they spoiled me, because thru the years I always had to ask for extra sauce on meals. Not at Uncle Wing's!!! They got you covered on that! Love it! ❤“
“(Note: The sign outside says Golden City Restaurant, but this is the same place.)Friendly staff, calming atmosphere, affordable prices, generous portions, excellent food. I always go for the lunch special, since it's near where I work and the service is quick. I can't speak to how things are during other hours (and by reading some other reviews, it might not be as good), but if you get the General Tso's or Sweet & Sour Chicken lunch special, you won't be disappointed. Plus, if you dine in, you get soup as well, which is always nice (especially since they make a very good Egg Drop Soup).“
“Ordered from here because the other spot (chopstick express)( y'all just lost a customer!)I order from, didn't pick up the phone after I called 7 times.. Pretty fresh for my liking, their vegetables(onion, celery, broccoli, peanuts) were pretty fresh. Ordered the Kung Pao beef, general tso chicken, and a side of lo mein. Everything was fresh and had good flavor. This is my Chinese spot from now on!“
“Egg rolls I had for an appetizer are definitely in my favs of all time. Orange chicken was good in portion and taste could have used just a little bit of a kick. Showed up at an off time which can often result in poor service but it was very good in this case, including the hostess or maybe owner stopping by to chat about the book I was reading. Told my friend who likes Chinese and we will be back next time he comes through to go out to dinner“
“I have visited several times. Great variety. Very disappointed by the Lo Mein this visit. Hope it's just a one time thing! Service is always delightful. Love their variety of fresh fruit offered. Great Hot and sour soup, noodles need work. Overall a very pleasant experience. Will return again when in that area. Good buffet if you like buffets. Enjoy“
“So I've seen this place since I was a kid. I decided to stop by here for lunch because Reddit of Dallas said it was one of the best Chinese in Garland. I completely agree. That orange chicken was ?. The sweet and sour pork was good but the sauce could use some work. Maybe season the pork before they batter it. The egg rolls were hella good but a bit small for the price. The rice was surprisingly good even tho it looked bland. Could use some egg. I'll definitely be coming back over and over again. I highly recommend eating here as a guy with a big appetite.“
