“This is a hidden gem. I eat here a lot.Unexpectedly, not just a fried-chicken place. They have a surprising all-you-can-eat buffet that is really tasty and not expensive. It's the typical, down-home Texas lunch I grew up on, and there's something for everyone. To name a few, there's grilled chicken, fried chicken, fried catfish, meatballs, fried gizzards, potato salad, beans, collard greens, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, okra, fruit, and outstanding fresh-baked homemade dinner rolls. They have fresh-cooked banana pudding and other dessert specialties on the menu, too.My favorites always include the grilled chicken, and they have fried gizzards (no, they're not oysters), too; I love the collard greens with Louisiana hot sauce; the kidney beans; the mustardy potato salad with jalapenos; and some of their delicious fresh-baked dinner rolls, almost as good as my sister's. I usually have some home-made banana pudding for dessert.True, the building is old, and it doesn't look like much from the outside (they're busy fixing it up), but it's clean and well-kept. The bathrooms sparkle. The staff are friendly and bilingual, and they are prompt and courteous. There is a drive-through, too, if you're in a hurry. This is nothing but good ol' Southern home-style cooking, and if you're looking to fill up on some down-to-earth, plain but delicious food for very little money, this is the place.“
“I'm so in love with this location. Let's start with the staff. Everytime I visit, roughly 4-6 times a month, the same crew is there they know my face and voice over the speaker. They are always warm and welcoming everytime.Food is only made once it ordered so there is always a wait. Depending on the size of the order, wait times usually are about 5-20 minutes for your food to be served. They only serve hot fresh chicken and fish so no worries there. It's fresh enough to make it back to my house roughly 12 mins away still HOT!!! I'm able to feed my family a hot meal.“
“Second time to visit this wonderful restaurant. What a gem! Our server, Katie, was awesome & so accommodating. My friend & I both ordered the chicken fried steak & it did not disappoint. Mac & cheese bites are a must! House margarita was a little disappointing; too sweet & tasted like it was made from a mix. Will try a different cocktail next time. Overall great dining experience!“
“Good food. Good portions. Great staff. All at affordable prices.Stop by if you get a chance you will definitely enjoy it.I also want to add that you definitely have to order the fried okra. I usually skip it even though I love because most restaurants screw it up but not here. It is fresh, tasty and cruncy like it's supposed to be.“
“This is now a TOPS in my food establishments to venture to. Highly recommend this establishment to look into open this in Dayton. Dayton is booming like Mont Belvieu is. If you don't open here, I WILL still drive 30 minutes to Humble but closer means more money. I spend $13. and make 6 awesome sandwiches out of the large take home containers. Went there Feb 2nd and Will go back today. Not waiting for Feb. 22nd (that special you had for February). This is crazy but I couldn't stop eating that Fruity chicken salad. I will have 1 or 2 sandwiches TODAY but have to drive to Humble first.“
“Always excellent fish and shrimp. The " You call it" is a great choice for two, and the price is very reasonable.Parking: It is just a park and get out to order. The entryway and gravel drive are full of large pot holes that are impossible to miss them all. You must go slowly and carefully to enter the parking area.“
“1pm in the afternoon it was a quiet time, not busy at all. Had all you could eat fish fry for 2. Our meals were hot and appetizing with 3 fish filets, fries, hush puppies, and cole slaw. We did not care for the slaw. Loved the ambiance, soft music, and scenery with a view of lagoon. Had interactions with Steven, Edgar, and a young lady, and all were very friendly and professional. I am looking forward to the next visit for their Sunday Brunch 10-4pm.“
