Stopped here in 2019 after stumbling across a review about the homemade corndogs. I had to verify the Dixie Dog was “the finest!” So traveling through here again, we brought the family for the experience. When you drive by, you might miss it because the building is old, the sign faded. The Dixie Dog still lives up to its reputation. Glad there are still small towns and old family owned drive in restaurants. Service friendly and prompt.
I now live in rural Wisconsin and at least once a year, I crave chili cheese fries and a cheeseburger with jalapenos from Dixie Dog. The twenty-one hour drive, I think, would be worth it. You can get Sonic anywhere...you only get Dixie Dog in Idalou.

I ordered 2 burgers with fries. And they charged me 30 dollars. This place is way overpriced and the prices listed on Google and on the front of the business are not the prices that they are charging.
