Don't miss these Kingwood Mexican restaurant gems.
“Los Cucos Mexican Cafe is a spacious and comfortable restaurant to enjoy a quality Tex-Mex meal. The menu is large and varied and it’s all prepared expertly. And if you in the mood for adult beverage, they have a full service bar or they can bring it to your table. At times they have live mariachi bands, navigating the area to serenade your favorite date. Los Cucos has the usual TexMex fare, including enchiladas, fajitas and tacos. Also, they have a fairly wide variety of pork ribs, fish and seafood.“
“We had the beef fajitas, and they were really good. The thing that stole the show was the 'Real Mexican Guacamole'.That was awesome. I enjoyed it more than anything else. It had big chunks of avocado loosely mixed with the tomato and onions. I believe there was cilantro but it wasn't overpowering. The servers are always right there if you need anything. It was a very pleasant experience.“
“have been going once a month for the new tacos now that those are finally rolling out. (The Raj has been the best taco by far.)we eat at the bar everytime.the bar usually has poor attentiveness.we always get hillbilly queso and torchy tinis. they never miss.the torchy tini is also on happy hour i believe.“
“Ok so this is my second time here. The first time was years ago and I told my wife I would meet her here but while waiting i smelled a very nasty odor . I slugged down my drink and left, never going back. This time was way different. We met friends here and had drinks and dinner and everything was absolutely the best. I had the green chile chicken enchiladas with sour cream and they were great. My wife said what she ordered was very good too.Our friends were very pleased with the meals they chose so now I'm revising my feedback on Los Cucos. I'll definitely be back.“
“El Tiempo in Kingwood never disappoints! My husband and I come here from time to time, and we always enjoy it. The Chicken Taco plate is large enough to share, and so delicious. Alex was our server, and he was fantastic! You will never have to wait long for your food here. They are on it! Great service, ambience and quality fresh food are all part of the experience! We love El Tiempo!“
“We went on here on a whim, honestly. We were in the area, and it was in the same strip as a place where we would be running errands at. The reviews of this place are generally good, but the few that say the food isn’t great do get you thinking about not going in—however, I decided to just go ahead and try a new place.Hands down the best decision I’ve made this year.I can not fully put into words just how good and authentic this food is.The tortillas are soft and fresh. The chicken ranchero is melty and flavorful. The veggies are unbelievably crisp. The tamales are to die for. Even the quesadillas—an option most people view as “safe” in any Mexican (or Tex-Mex) restaurant—are leagues above most of the eating/dining experiences I’ve had in my lifetime.I promise you, the most disappointing thing about this restaurant is that more people aren’t going to it. I hope this place stays open for a very long time.“
“When my family first moved to Kingwood, we were determined to find good restaurants we can love. My family loves Mexican food and we have tried different places in Kingwood. I would say Chachi's and Chachi's Next Door are our favorite Mexican restaurants in Kingwood. They have variety of items we love (tacos, burritos, enchiladas, quesos, etc.). They include complimentary chips and salsa (it doesn't matter if you are getting food to go). They are very generous with their portions too. I would say only negative feedback is their rice. I don't think their rice is very good. I wish it was more moist and flavorful. It is very dry rice. I love that they have their own parking and service is always good. I appreciate that Chachi's has also never messed up my orders. Everything is packed nicely too. Sometimes, I come to Chachi's Next Door to have a drink and have their chips and salsa. I love Chachi's chips and salsa. It is thin, crispy, and freshly fried. I love their salsa too. I usually ask for another bowl of salsa because I eat all of it. I love that Chachi's make homemade tortillas and their tortillas are delicious. It is soft, chewy, and warm. I think their homemade tortillas make their food taste so much better than other Mexican restaurants around here. I do not like going to a Mexican restaurant where they use store bought tortillas. I want to eat food I can't make at home or it would take too much time for me to make it at home. I also don't know what is in their gravy sauce, but oh man, I love that sauce. My husband gets a burrito with the sauce over it. I am always taking his sauce. I love the cheese enchilada with their red sauce too. It is addicting.“
“Stopped here for lunch, and I'm so happy I did!!!! The food was AMAZING!!! I had the lunch chimicganga & the hubs had the carne asada both were perfection ?? chef's kiss. Reasonable price, too. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area. Must try No leftovers. If I could've eaten the plate, I would. “
