“Atmosphere was quite and cozy seated quickly to a nice big booth food came out fresh/hot (20mins no complaints there) generous portions size service was very polite and knowledgeable of the menu and new specials entrees . Overall had a nice experience.Vegetarian options: Sushi, fish, soups and rice options to choose fromParking: In Kroger shopping center lot of available spots“
“I order take out all the time. I always get the Louie V and shrimp fried rice. I have gotten a salmon bowl and it was good as well. The atmosphere is very quiet and chill. Also very relaxing. The staff is great. I’ve never had any problems with my order or a rude waiter. I’m very comfortable when I go inside.Parking: It’s always a place to park.“
“Everything was good when it came down to the food but we didn't like the fact that the person the takes the plates was table watching it seemed as if every five minutes she would walk by looking over the table and as soon as we put a plate aside she was ready to grab it and when we went for a second plate she was grabbing plates we was not done with yet it was very uncomfortable having a dish hawk hover over us as we ate but beyond that everything else was amazing I don't like feeling as if I'm being rushed off to eat then leave overall the food was super freshParking: Handicapped parking was upfront close to the door so we was happy about thatWheelchair accessibility: There was access for a wheelchair but we didn't need it“
“The evening duo they got with the manager J and the server Jerry was phenomenal!!!!First the server was super Friendly and second the manager was very knowledgeable.... Like ,Wow ?? That curry chicken shrimp was delish, thank you Jerry for that suggestion. That crab puff pairing was really the best add on from the manger“
“First visit here. Atmosphere is very loud and busy during lunch time. Very attentive staff. Ramen is good. It needed some salt. Only condiment on the table was soy sauce. The fish was very fresh. Sushi was good. Looking forward to next visit to try more items.“
“"An absolute revelation in the Houston sushi scene" - this is what kept running through my head as each new course of the omakase came out.The ambiance is chic and upscale, lively without being loud. Service is top notch and was impressed by the entire wait staff. The food, well, one of the best sushi experiences I've had outside of Tokyo. Flavor pairings were surprising and delectable, presentation was gorgeous. All around an incredible experience and I can't wait to go back.“
“This was a lot of fun! The experience from start to finish was delightful, imaginative and intimate. The food was on point and very elevated as expected at this price point. The service was fantastic, as the setup allows for the chef to have plenty of interaction with the guests and Chef Marcos was very engaging and enthusiastic about explaining the different techniques, fish and his own sushi history with us as we dined. My wife and I are no novices to sushi, omakase or tasting menus in general and this experience was both unique and memorable. I should note the restaurant is BYOB, they did share a sake shot welcome cheers for everyone and the passion fruit mocktail was excellent.“
“We were lucky enough to get the last service by Chef Jonathan. We had his Kobe fair well tour! And he made our experience amazing! We had recently had their parent restaurant Hidden Omakase and we enjoyed it but was recommended to try this joint for a lower price point and shorter meal.So for dinner they do 45 mins and they start on time so make sure you come a little early and take some pictures in the nft gallery out front. If you park it’s to the left of the Italian restaurant and has no signage.Once seated they get started right on the dot. But even though it’s a short service Jonathan explained what we were getting in great detail. We got better interaction here with the crew than at Hidden Omakase. It’s a younger group and more fun and lively. The Engawa was the best thing I have ever eaten at any sushi restaurant. This thing is life changing. And you’re able to get an extra piece as an a la carte add on. Do it!!! You will not regret it.My wife and I were so impressed, we will definitely be back and at this price point we can come more often.Best of luck on your next Journey chef Jonathan your skills will truly be missed here.“
“We went to Roka to celebrate a new job! It's one of the date night/special occasion spots in our rotation. The ambiance and decor is nice, service is great, but the food really steals the show. Top tier! Everything I've had is phenomenal!! The crispy fried squid, Robata grilled octopus, and sweet corn you MUST try. All AMAZING. The cheesecake desert is insane, completely delicious. To be honest though everything we have had there is good. The prime ribeye, the sushi rolls, the pork belly, the wagyu beef dumplings, and the yuzu miso black cod, yellowtail are all amazing and in rotation. Also If you enjoy a cocktail they have this Margarito with Tajin that is solid! I'm picky so not easy to please. Roka is top tier.“
“Really interesting menu. Loved the tuna tower the best! Loved the yellowtail appetizer as well. My nephew got the burger, did not like the bun it was in, but loved the meat. Good specialty rolls, nice ambiance and good service. Food came out fast. Wouldn't get the dumplings again, the dumpling sauce was a little weak. My favorite roll was the Mando. Yum!“
“I absolutely love this place. I have tried so many sushi spots all over Houston throughout my life and this place is definitely my favorite. If you are looking for an intimate setting with a homey feel this is the place for you. When I come here I feel like family. Johnny the owner is so funny and welcoming. He runs the restaurant with his son and daughter who are also so humble and sweet. The quality of the food is fanominal and decently priced. I highly recommend the calamari and the fish is a perfect temp and so fresh so definitely go for the nigiri or sashimi if you are a raw fish fan. 10 out of 10. I will be coming back soon ???“
“I came here for dinner one night with a friend and what a hit this place was! Casual, yet trendy atmosphere. Seating was prompt and service was attentive and friendly. The food was amazing and the quality was top tier. The aburi on fire roll and yasai kinoko tofu was absolutely DELICIOUS! Parking was super easy and this place is a solid 5 star. If you want fresh quality food, this is the place to be! I'll definitely be back with friends and family for dinner!“
“I use to visit this restaurant before covid. Back in the area I was surprised to see it still operating...thankful as this place is awesome great food and quick service if you get there early. Local like most places in this area serves excellent sushi. “
“The food here is absolutely delightful and flavorful. The ambiance is incredible, perfect for a date. The service is punctual and the staff takes pride in describing the meal. Every aspect of the dining experience is described with precision. The kitchen is constantly working on masterpiece after masterpiece. Overall, the experience is delightful and the desserts are killer. Not one staff seemed out of place and constantly kept the momentum of the restaurant moving.“
“4.5/5. Overall a great place for sushi but lacks compared to its Austin location. Reservation recommended and they have self park along with complimentary valet. It is a bit pricey so be willing to pay $100 per person if you order drinks. They also have a vegetarian menu so it’s great for those looking for non seafood or beef options.“
“Love how Neo pays attention to the smallest details to ensure a fine dining experience. The staff were attentive and respectful, Chef was knowledgeable and talented, and food was incredible. We went on 3/4/24 for the Sushi Omakase and our favorites were Masu, Madai Crudo, Maitake, and the Maguro Handroll. Highly recommend!“
“General Description:A traditional Japanese restaurant. They have booths and a sushi bar.The space is on the smaller side. The good:- Tonkatsu Ramen: Broth was a bit different than most Japanese style ramen. I don't like fatty/heavy broth base. This one was on the lighter side.- Yellowtail sashimi was on the fresher side. The bad:- Chicken was rubbery.- Broccoli was overcooked.- Wasabi mix was watered down.Overall:Worth trying.“
“Ten Sushi Cocktails in Houston delivers a top-notch dining experience, made even better by the exceptional service of waitress Stephanie. Her expertise in describing the menu and recommending top-selling sushi and entrees added a delightful touch to our evening, ensuring we enjoyed every bite. Stephanie's attentiveness and knowledge made our visit truly memorable. Highly recommend Ten for both the food and the service!“
“We loved our experience at Suki Sushi! Very clean and comforting atmosphere. The service is amazing. Our food was delicious, my roll was beyond expectations! We are very excited to bring friends and family here. You can tell the people working here are doing their best to make your dinning experience a good one.“
“Ordered take out from this place so can't speak on the service in the restaurant, but there was no delay in getting the food from the delivery service. The chicken yakisoba and the combo yakisoba were large portion sizes! The flavor was a little bland compared to other Japanese food we've had, but overall decent taste! The pork gyoza was pretty good and the veggie/shrimp tempura was nice and crisp. Well try it again in person!“
“I went last weekend, and I really like this place! The drinks are delicious, and the atmosphere and staff are very friendly, I had the opportunity to know the location of city center, but now that this is closer from my home, I know it's a yes for me!“
“Visited Sushi Masa with me and my friends and had a fantastic experience, thanks to Mike, the manager! His professionalism and warmth made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The sushi was fresh and flavorful, and Mike's attentive service elevated the entire meal. Can't wait to come back again soon!“
“The best place in Houston for fresh sushi and good service and price.... specially Markus was great, every time we go there for dinner or happy hours. Thank you Marcuse.Parking: a lot of parking spaceKid-friendliness: yes They have kids menue“
“Forgot how amazing some of the food here is. Used to come here for years for lunch.Skip the ramen. It’s not their best effort. The tempura is all incredible and not oily, the sushi is high quality and fresh, the fried rice is awesome, and the atmosphere is small and cozy. Definitely going to come here more often“
“I come here at least once a week for lunch and I highly recommend Pokeworks. In addition to having a great menu and quality food, the costumer service here is always exceptional!!! Shout out to Courtney and his staff for taking care of me and always making me feel valued! Thank you Courtney for never letting me forget my chili crisp, it’s what makes me come back every week.“
“I was happy to find a vegan Asian restaurant, there were plenty of options and the food was okay. Although it was expensive and they used a lot of plastic sauces. They have great potential if they started making everything fresh and lower pricing.“
“As always, Aya Sushi doesn't disappoint. Did the Omakase at the Chef's Counter, and it was a great experience. Chef Yoshi spoke with us quite a bit, and their dishes are truly unique. From exclusive fish options to dishes that look like art, you can see the passion for true sushi culture here. Definitely would recommend it, and the space itself is quite stunning on the inside.“
“Honestly pretty good value! The 3 protein poke bowl is worth it for $11 or so. You can load up on the sides and they have good options. Also comes with a small side of miso soup, although it is a bit salty. I like the wasabi miso sauce. Would recommend the sushi rice over the brown rice. The brown rice was not cooked very well.“
“We came here for a family dinner. This is our first experiencing this place. The staff are very pleasant and listen to your requests if any that are specific.Hot Garlic Edamame to delicious. The sushis that we tried were all so good that we ended up reordering them again ;-).We will come back again.“
“This was my first time ever eating a poke bowl. The ingredients were fresh, I was surprised to find out the protein options can be cooked or raw. I tried a spicy ahi bowl with cooked tuna and shrimp. Overall, the bowl was good, I just personally didn’t like the texture of the cooked tuna. Ehh… just wasn’t for me. My cashier, Ty, was extremely helpful! She helped me pick the ingredients for the bowl, gave excellent recommendations, and once I discovered that this was a cashless business, she even covered my order. She went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction ! I appreciate yu Ty.“
“Such a great spot for lunch and they have afforable prices! I got a shaggy dog and the tempura shrimp and they tasted great. The service is really good too and the food comes really fast. I was not feeling my best so the miso soup tasted great and also helped me feel better.“
“Izakaya Wa is one of my top 3 favourite restaurants. All the food is so delicious and has a seasoned taste. I definitely recommend the torimune fried skewers, one order comes with 2 generously sized skewers, they were so good I had to get 3 orders! I also recommend the sushi dinner, all the fish is so fresh and the salmon has so much fat and the bluefin tuna was amazing also. You should definitely come here. I don’t live in Houston and whenever we come here for a couple days, we always come to Izakaya Wa.“
“Chef is great, but they serve 1 person at a time. I waited for my daughter to get her food and mine ended up cold by the time hers came to the table. Tonight there was 4 of us, and it took 15 min to get all of us served. 2 we're done eating their meals when the last person just started eating.“
“By far the highest quality, lowest price I have encountered for an excellent lunch. I almost didn't want to share the review as this place is just a gem. No frills, fast service, likely a wait. Totally worth it!Parking: Be sure to check out the free parking lot just next door.“
“Iwa Ya on Bellaire Blvd hit the spot for lunch today! The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was quick and friendly. We dove into their delicious spider roll, savoring the fresh ingredients and perfect texture. The katsudon was another winner, with its crispy pork cutlet and flavorful sauce. Even the miso and corn chowder soup impressed, offering a warm and comforting start to the meal. And to top it off, the prices were reasonable! Highly recommend Iwa Ya for a satisfying and enjoyable lunch experience.“
“Food was ok. Decent enough. Always a very busy restaurant. Making a reservation to guarantee a table is probably a good idea. Otherwise you may have a long wait. Just depends on what time you go. Service was good. The second time we went, he service was a lot better. Friendly and ready to answer any questions. Plenty of parking which was great! Big restaurant and clean bathrooms. The noodles (yaki udon) unfortunately were not great! Actually couldn't eat them.“
“Parking: Cafe Ginger shares a massive free parking lot. Getting a table is harder than getting a parking spot and in the Heights we do that the other way around. So venturing outside of my beloved "3 parking spots for 10 tables" Heights, Cafe Ginger excelled at parking even on a busy Saturday night. I could have parked diagonally across multiple spots and still left available parking (I didn't because in the Heights that's a hanging offense and I was raised right). So even as a last minute decision, Cafe Ginger excelled at parking, seating, service, and taste! What?!?? I thought those were trade offs? Nope the Cafe Ginger sweep is real.“
“Really good sushi, fresh, good yellowtail and rice is nicely cooked, the soy bean paper was good as well. I was impressed with the size of the sushi for the price got 4 rolls and 2 pieces, plus some chicken skewers that were tender in a ponzu sauce.“
“The sushi is really good here, and like the name says they play a variety of music but most is classic Rock n Roll. This is the second time my wife and I were here and we were extremely pleased they have a place is Stafford that offers sushi. I like spicy sushi and what I got was absolutely delicious. This place ROCKS! The service, the food, and the environment gets my thumbs up!!“
“Returned and got tamashi menn & takoyaki. Tamashi menn was perfect this time (broth was light but very flavorful- a lot of time definitely went into making that broth), noodles had a great bite to them, shrimp was perfectly done, egg seasoned very well, and generous slices of chashu that weren't too fatty at all. A great price for what you get! 5/5Takoyaki was also great, although not something I'm dying to reorder again. 4/5Service was also great- our waitress was very nice and offered great recommendations. I can't wait to return and try the curry ramen!I went during 3 pm when there wasn't a lot of customers and we were the only ones eating for the most part. Tables aren't too far apart and the restaurant is tiny so if you're not vaccinated/worried about COVID, I'd maybe try take out.“
“What a hidden gem! We stumbled across this restaurant using Google search in the area while looking for sushi. Small restaurant but wow! Food was great and service was incredible. I highly recommend trying this place out. I can tell it is a neighborhood favorite.“
“Before going to the Houston rodeo, I stopped by to park my car and get something to eat. My friend found out that this restaurant opens at 11:00am. But the shop owner welcomed us from 10:30am. The food tastes good. The shrimp tempura in particular came out really well. The food is served quickly and continuously. The atmosphere of the restaurant is comfortable and comfortable. My only complaint is that I thought the sushi was a bit small.“
“Not your usual ramen restaurant. Very accommodating and attentive service staffs. Surprisingly, they got our orders out around 3 minutes or less. I'd say their food is straightforward, authentic Japanese. Nothing unusual and fancy stuffs in their ramen, yet tastes really good. Overall, the best ramen we've tried here in the U.S. We'll definitely come back.“
“I recently dined at Sasaki Japanese Restaurant in Houston, Texas, and it was an absolute delight! The food was exceptional, Here are some highlights:*Flavorful Sushi and Sashimi: The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and had authentic Japanese flavors.*Intimate Atmosphere: Sasaki is a cozy little gem tucked away on Westheimer Road. The intimate ambiance adds to the overall experience. It’s perfect for a quiet dinner or a special occasion.*Attentive Service: The staff at Sasaki went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. From recommendations to timely service, they truly cared about our satisfaction.I wholeheartedly recommend Sasaki. It’s a hidden gem that deserves more recognition.“
“Feb-9: You know you're in the right place when you hear the sushi chef speak Japanese and several tables had Japanese speaking diners! Diverse menu. All of the dishes were good. They do cut their sashimi quite thick, requiring 2-3 bites per piece. Ask for salmon belly sashimi to be blow torched!“
“I thought the service left a lot to be desired. We constantly had to ask for things like water, a knife,. It was a split check, and he really did not understand what we were trying to do. Maybe naïve on my part for the bill, but certainly the water glass should be refilled more than one during the evening. Took a long time to get the knife in order to cut some of the food. I thought the prices were high in the amount of food was lacking. The quality of the food was very good however“
“(don’t mind me digging in before i took a picture) the actual plates are so cute; they spent money on cartoony cat bowls and the actual food was amazing. i don’t eat much normally but i finished all of my food in one sitting that’s how good it was!! i got the curry chicken ramen it was so filling and had lots of flavor and extras in bowl; it wasn’t plain at all. this place is completely underrated; i went in on a saturday afternoon and i was the only person there!! more people should be eating here. the service was obviously amazing there was only one person working but he made sure i was attended to“
“The food was delicious & came out very quickly. I feel like everything was priced well for the quality. The service was also really great. Our server was very attentive & sweet the entire evening. I got the ginger rice and there was a little presentation at the table where the chef mixes in the egg, I thought that was pretty neat. The only sort of downside is the parking. If you want to park directly up front, you have to pay valet. Not sure how much it was, but we parked in the back. There was plenty of space and the walk was less than a minute. Overall a great experience, will definitely go back to try other delicious options.“
“The lady that helped me during the superbowl I don’t remember her name but she may remember me, I ordered all vegan food during happy hour ! Anyways she was very knowledgeable and kind and assisted me in many ways. It was like she was a friend! She was very inviting and I was just alone grabbing a bite to eat. Definitely made me feel welcome. The hosts always do when I come there. Thanks you all !“
“This place is great, very fresh fish as it should be. We tried several different rolls and we quite pleased with all of them. It was quite quick to get our food as well, not fast food, but much quicker than other sushi restaurants. Presentation of the roll was also awesome. Will definitely be back again.“
