Took the whole family out for dinner. Had been here before and wanted the kids to try it. It's a really good place. Classic Mexican dishes no surprises no frills. Super nice staff lots of tables and seating, fun decor. Younger kids had tamales and enchiladas. Older kids had fajitas. We had chips with salsa and queso for an appetizer which was good. Wife got the fish tacos and I got steak fajitas. Overall a good place not terribly expensive we did try the flan for dessert which my wife thought was mostly disappointing. But when you've had authentic or homemade flan that's difficult to compare to.

Keiby D. was our server. She is not only so beautiful but has such a beautiful heart! There were almost 15 people with us and she was just outstanding. The food was delicious and we were able to celebrate a 79 year old birthday, a new baby, a new pregnancy, and our nephew’s amazing miraculous recovery as he continues therapy after a motorcycle accident. Blessings upon Blessings we were able to share together and an extra Blessing with Keiby and the staff.

I have missed El Fenix since moving away in 2007. I love the sour cream chicken enchiladas and they are just like I remember. On this visit we did have some bumps with service, but it wasn't bad.

I was visiting from out of town and found this place did not deliver well on TexMex. Margaritas were watered down lemonade and no prices displayed for the special Pina colada. Wait staff was slow and inexperienced, and I feared they would spill our drinks multiple times.The taco salad was made with great lettuce and topped well. Shell was definitely fresh and the meat was hot. Food quality definitely lives up to the ratings.Overall, it reminded me of Carlos O'Kelly's, for both good and bad.
