“Disclaimer -I'm not typically a sushi fan. (The wife is a super sushi lover).Date night with the wife. We had miso soup for appetizers. Wife had the Miss Fortune Roll, she really enjoyed it. The rolls are sometimes too big to fit in her mouth. These were not. I had the Deep Veggie Roll and the Rangers Roll. I also had a side of plain sushi rice (one of my favorites). The deep fried veggie roll was great. Many many choices of rolls to choose from. Only negatives were the initial wait to be served and orders taken (20 min) and very few non sushi choices (non really negative considering it is a sushi place. Go somewhere else if you want something other than sushi!) Staff was very attentive once our order was finally taken. Will go again to try more in the future.“
“Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday and the food and service did not disappoint. We ordered tempura udon, a spicy pork bento box, a roll over roll, and a tempura roll. The portions were huge and the food tasted great! Definitely worth the price (especially lunch specials). Our server even stopped by and gave us two items on the house. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for good Japanese food in Plano.“
“Fantastic! We celebrated a birthday with a group of 10 people. We made a reservation through on-line Google Assistant and the table was ready when we arrived. We ordered at the counter and we're served food in a timely manner. Everyone really liked their food and we all ordered different things. Highly suggest everything. Lol. The ladies working were very attentive and sweet.Love it! We will be back.“
“It's beautiful and the place is easy to get to.Tasty tuna, fine fibers and just the right amount of oil. The cut is not too thick either. However, it is strange that Tekkadon is topped with Fukujinzuke...but the Fukujinzuke itself was quite delicious, so maybe it's okay? Also, there are a lot of furikake on the vinegared rice in Tekkadon. The furikake alone has quite a salty taste. The udon was a bit lacking.I have high expectations for sashimi in general. The price is a little high.“
“Sitting here trying to figure out why the heck I didn’t know about this place sooner!? A legit hidden GEM. DELICIOUS and delectable. Great food, great staff and great environment. I really appreciate the lady who answered the phone and guided me through my order as she was sooo patient with me, YOU ROCK! Highly recommend, the only thing I can ask for is desserts, I know y’all’s desserts would be amazing.“
“I have been hearing many good compliments about this place so I decided to check it out this morning. The all the foods were so fresh and delicious like my friends said! My favorite roll was the Dragon roll. Also the owner was very nice too! I would definitely be coming back! “
“This hidden gem in the southern east most part of Plano is the absolute spot for sushi/sashimi. Very simplistic menu, mom and pop, not too expensive. Sure you can find the menu option for you and your family/friends. Want to try everything on menu truly. Staff is awesome. Will be back.“
“Nestled within a bustling plaza adorned with various dining establishments, this venue, while modest in decor and lacking the traditional Japanese restaurant allure, truly stands out for its exceptional service and delectable sushi and appetizers. Kudos to the dedicated owners and staff for crafting such delightful culinary offerings. During our visit, we savored a variety of rolls and appetizers, each impressing with their freshness and impeccable balance between rice and fillings. Without a doubt, we look forward to returning for another culinary experience.Vegetarian options: Lots of option on menu for vegetarians and veganDietary restrictions: They are able to make adjustments to menuParking: Lots of parking in plazaKid-friendliness: Kid options availableWheelchair accessibility: Parking handicap right in front, wide entrances“
“Saw this spot on my way home, and decided to drop by. I was delighted!!! From the cute and cozy atmosphere to the friendly staff, the experience was amazing! And the rolls, the salmon and boyfriend roll, was delicious-! Some places put to much rice in their rolls but this place has the perfect amount ? I would definitely come back and recommend this place for all sushi lovers!“
“This is one the best and most authentic Japanese restaurant I have ever been. Being a person who spent half his life in Asia, I have pretty high standards when it comes to Japanese food. Among all varieties of Japanese dishes, my biggest krypton has always been the pork Katsu (fried pork cutlet), and this place’s pork Katsu well exceeds my expectations. 5/5 will definitely come back again!“
“When I first entered this establishment the atmosphere was so beautiful and relaxing. From the table set up to the setting cushions. The wait on the food was reasonable and so very worth it. There were so many options here that you would never find at the local grocery store. Although the food was more on the pricey side the quality, service, and options makes up for it.I rate this restaurant 5/5 stars and am looking forward to returning to try more of the food options.“
“Great food and really great prices for lunch. Great lunch specials. My partner and I each got the “2 roll showdown special”…..$10.95 each. Shown here is Spicy Tuna (it was good but the tuna was minced and not in pieces), Salmon Avocado (this was delicious and yes there were Salmon pieces), Spicy Crunchy Eel (sooo good with great eel sauce), Shrimp Tempura (very good). This special comes with edamame, miso soup and gyoza. These were all very good. Service is spotty but great most of the time.“
“Fantastic sushi! Fish was fresh and rolls were flavorful. Good selection of rolls as well. Ramen was good, and we appreciated the small version so that we could still enjoy other items on the menu. Didn't care for the miso soup but the edamame was good . Service was attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back!“
“Sushi lunch for one. I had miso, crab roll and plain sushi rice. I enjoyed it very much. Food came quickly, the service was very personable, polite and helpful. I plan on taking the wife here for date night soon. She is the greater sushi connoisseur than I. Not fancy but clean with friendly staff. I was able to be seated right away.“
“Great selection of items for all needs. I am happy we found this place. They have a number of prepared foods to choose from as well as a handful of restaurants that serve hot food made to order. This location has the one card gaming center as well as a gift shop section. I will come back to try more options next time.“
“My family's go-to sushi restaurant. We love coming here at least once a week. Great staff and food. The sushi chef knows my order the moment I walk through the door and they always have my daughters ramune drink ready for her as soon as she sits down. Thank you Tomoya! See you again next week!“
“Food was good. Had a good fast service and the waitress was polite and caring. On other hand the tables are so close to each other. We had an elderly couple seated next us and it was little uncomfortable for both of us. Besides that all good, a good place to try for a change“
“This is one of my favorite sushi spots in town. I've been going here for years! I appreciate that after all these years, the establishment has not changed the prices much. The portion sizes and quality of the sushi has remained very consistent.Their food is always fresh, deliciously prepared, and generous for what you pay for. The service is always top notch and place is kept very clean as well. They have great lunch deals!I love this place and will always continue to support Densetsu.“
“We have been coming here for over a year. Leon, the bartender/server is like family to us. We try and come as often as we can, but we always make it a point to see him. He is so kind, respectful, and genuinely cares. As do we. The others here are wonderful too, but for us, he really made the place special for us. We always look forward to our Saturday night sushi rendezvous.Of course, the sushi is wonderful too. We tend to stick with the volcano roll, jalapeno roll, samurai roll, and the happy hour delights! I always forget to write this review, so, while we are here tonight, I made it a point to say good things about it. Love it here! Many thanks to Leon, the staff, and the fresh eats!“
“The price of the sushi here was on the cheaper side compared to other sushi restaurants. The quality of the sushi though... I personally think it can get better. Even the presentation of the sushi was quiet lacking. The service was pretty good and the atmosphere was pretty satisfactory. Since the location is in the heart of downtown Plano, I think it's a good spot for a nice dinner.“
“Matsui has my favorite classic pork katsu with curry in the DFW area. They are remarkably consistent with their food quality, taste, and portions. Always freshly fried to a beautiful crispy golden brown. Always an adequate amount of meat. Lots of rice, hot and tasty noodles. The list goes on.Please give Matsui a try if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed. As a bonus, their weekday lunch specials are a great value, with a 1/2 serving of the entree and an included bowl of hot/cold udon/soba with rice for the price of a full size entree only. I've gone for lunch about five times at this point and have always left full and satisfied.Outside of standard mealtimes, seating is easy to get, especially around weekday lunchtime. During mealtimes the food court can get pretty busy, so seating may be a challenge.P.S they do have a small additional charge for takeout orders to cover the cost of to-go boxes and utensils. Not a dealbreaker but can be annoying if you aren't anticipating it.Parking: Plenty available during lunch during the week. Closer you get to dinner or on weekends the less parking there is. Weekends can be particularly difficult to find spots.“
“I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The owners are so nice, the service is wonderful, and the food just makes everything perfect. This is my favorite spot to have noodles, and they also have sushi options. Everything is just so good! 10/10 would recommend if you're in the eastern Dallas area.“
“I would usually rate the food here around a 4 and service a 2 or 3. Make sure if you visit ASK FOR LEON! He will take the overall experience from a 3 to a 5. He made me feel like I was in a fine dining experience and will definitely come back. Thanks again Leon!“
“Everything was good.. the check in process was smooth, food was tasty.. although the chicken was okish, i enjoyed the karage chk and noodles.. The only bad part about the entire experience was I was given a plastic fork rather than steel one... and the server said that there are not available..“
“Cozy place serving delicious ramen and lots of other options for non-ramen people. I got the shoyu and substituted tofu and it was delicious. Very flavorful with the thick wavy noodles. My son had the tonkatsu and he inhaled the bowl. Highly recommend!“
“Okay, this is my secret to go place. If you want some authentic and cheap and high quality Chinese food, go here. Warning, skip all American/ ramen menu part. I have not taste that portion, but feel free to try, it’s just that I would strongly recommend the chief special page till the end.“
“When I ate there the staff was very inviting and friendly. Food was good and had lots of flavor for a very low price. Restaurant was clean and comfortable to eat at. I have no complaints about this restaurant at all and I will be back again.“
“The sushi from here was so fresh and delicious. I got the hurricane shrimp roll and the Philly roll both were rolled perfectly and the presentation was amazing! The cashier seemed annoyed that I interrupted her conversation with another coworker and I thanked her many times throughout the transaction and she never acknowledged me but I would definitely come back to try more rolls.“
“The food was fresh and REALLY good, not like other AYCE places that try to chimp on ingredients. The variety to choose from was vast. My favorite was the sushi and the fresh crb legs. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Can't wait for my next visit!“
“Introverts rejoice! Feel like talking and ordering in person? Cool. Feel like ordering on kiosk ?️ ? Also cool. ?Seaweed salad ? was maybe one of the best I have had. In my life.Super spicy ?️ ? roll was ? and ? ?️Calamari is good but gets rubbery quick so eat it first. “My boyfriend and I have been coming to Yoshi Shabu Shabu almost once a week for almost 2 months now, because it is just that good! Hot pot can be overwhelming, but Shabu allows you to cook and eat at your own pace. The meat and vegetables are always so fresh. We almost always get the New York Strip and the Choice Ribeye which are equally delicious and never disappoint. We just went again last night and they now offer Filet Mignon which was amazing and we will definitely get again. We have tried both the ramen noodles and the udon noodles. I would not order the udon noodles again, but the ramen has always been great and cooks in about 2 minutes. The drinks are also some of my favorite things to get; the Sweet Plum Wine and the Sake Sangria are both sweet but, pair really nicely with the steak. The lunch special and new happy hour are also unbeatable for how top quality the meals always are. Everyone on the team is so attentive and is always willing to bring more sauce, vegetables, and rice as needed. Their ponzu sauce is the best! Akhil has been our server for most of the times that we have dined in and he is so friendly and helpful! He always has a smile on his face and makes a great point of letting us know what is new and what he recommends! Five star service and five star food!“
“To all the people complaining, this place is perfect, and I feel many of you guys are being picky; at 1 am, what will you get? What-a-burger Waffle House? This place has a lot of options for a late-night spot: rice, noodles, sushi, curry soup, etc. You’re not going to find that anywhere else, on a late night, the best spot to go when you're off work late or leaving the bar or a party at 1 am. Basil fried rice is my favorite. I order here at least once a week.“
“A great place for family or friend gathering! Every dish was so flavorful and tasty. You pretty much can just order off my photos. These are authentic Taiwanese cuisine that you won’t find in any other restaurant in DFW area. Definitely worth of 50 minutes drive to dine here.“
“Sushi shack is the classic all you can eat sushi experience, with a generous list of included sushi rolls, made right when you order them.Having been here a few times, I can say that the sushi and tempura is excellent. Dinner is $25 a person, and if you were to go to nearly any sushi restaurant, you'd likely spend more on just two or three rolls, making it an amazing value. You also get soup, salad, and edamame. However, there are some downsides. The service on all of my visits has ranged from disinterested neglect to outright rudeness. On one occasion in December of 2023, coming with a group of six, we entered the restaurant and found only two tables occupied. We waited for a server. We asked the chef to to get her. Minutes passed, and eventually she came out and said she would be with us soon. She spoke harshly, and kept us waiting even longer, like customers were an inconvenience. I had a similar experience in April of 2024. This wasn't an outlier, but rather the usual service experience. Dealing with the service is the true price one pays for eating here. They also have a policy of charging 70 cents per uneaten piece of sushi. This is a reasonable way to discourage wasteful orders, but the way this is presented repeatedly, and the waitress reminds customers with every order feels excessive. Perhaps they just want to avoid the outrage a customer would express if such a policy was enforced unexpectedly.Despite the consistently mediocre service and the irritating waste prevention measures, the sushi is so delicious and the value is so good that I recommend it.But I far prefer the food, service, and experience at Tokyo One, which - for a couple of dollars more - has tons more options, and considerably better staff.Overall, Sushi Shack is very good. Not as amazing as Tokyo One, but definitely worth trying.“
“I have been coming here for Sushi since I've arrived to Plano in Aug 2022.I have 5 favorites. Among them are from their lunch combo specials. 8 sushi rolls and additional 8 all under $15. Definitely worth the price. If it's jus sushi, you will get it hardly 5 minutes. If it's cooked, it will take less than 10 minutes. My favorites are Tiger, Hungry, Midway, and Rainbow if I am wanting salmon.Try these meals with Chick-fil-A sauce and it will have you come back for more.Compared to other pricy Sushi restaurants, this one is worth it.“
