A nice place for dining when you missing Singaporean/Malaysian food! Reasonable prices. Attentive staff & Alex deserved mentioning as he greeted customers. Repeat visit soon!

This is a family ‘Kampong’ atmosphere restaurant. You are welcome to help yourself with the utensils, drinks, condiments and take out boxes. If you are expecting a full-service restaurant, this is place not for you.Alex is the owner. He is friendly and treats his customers not just customers but as friends and families. Food is as close to what you can get from Malaysia while living in the Dallas Fort Worth Meteoplex. A gathering place for most Malaysians and Singaporeans for food, friendship and reminiscing the good old times. Thanks Alex for bringing our “home” to us while we are so far from home.

Special thanks to Alex for opening up your restaurant. We enjoyed the delicious food and the great service. Above all, amazing memories for Singapore National Day 2023 celebrations with Dallas friends and families

I went to Secret Recipe for dinner TODAY with a friend who came into town and wanted to eat Singapore/Malaysian food. While having dinner the server came by asking us if we wanted boxes and we said no that we were still eating. Soon after the couple we just met at the next table left and said goodbye to us and the server came back hurried us and brought to go boxes for us. As we sat there packing up our food, as we had a large order the owner of the restaurant his name is Alex came around the corner and stood next to the counter and proceeded to yell at us. He told us " Get out of my restaurant now! I am closing the restaurant, get the hell out of the restaurant! My friend and I was mortified and shocked at this man yelling at the top of his voice in anger. We did not know what to say and packed our food and walked out. This is the most shocking hostile situation my friend or I have ever encountered. This man is the owner of the restaurant, his name is Alex. He is ridiculously Uncouth and Tactless in his actions. He should pack up and go back to Malaysia as I never would imagine any decent human being would act in such a pitiful low class manner

Usually, I barely review especially in Google but I must share my experience. Regretting paying tips for grumpy services and horrible food. Too bad, they serve Malaysian food! So embarrassed I brought my husband over! By the way, you ordered at the counter and pay everything with the tips. If I know it was that horrible afterward, we won't tip them. There were 4 waitresses and one was bragging and chit chat with other customers. I can't believe my eyes when I saw a customer help them to serve another customer to their table/seats on their behalf!!! They said they are short staff but I went to a Japanese restaurant with 2 waitresses who don't gossip with other customers, and did awesomely! Leaving the place was not happy at all. They don't even deserve 1 star

This is a hidden gem if you enjoy Asian food! The owner is super friendly and they are a family owned business. The food is authentic and very tasty. Served hot as freshly prepared. Huge choice of Malaysian Singaporean and Indonesian dishes. Quick service and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Best Hot & Sour soup in the Metroplex. Not too spicy. Just good.

IMO Skip the generic Chinese food menu and go straight to their Southeast Asian menu and prepare to be blown away by absolutely fantastic Thai and Malaysian cuisine. Their curries are fantastic as are their flat noodle soups. This is my "go to" spot when I want something exotic to eat.

This is a small place, but great one to have for lunch., but a bit pricy for lunch. Definitely delicious/ flavorful dishes. The gentleman that served us recommended the Sambal Shrimp and it was right on. Along with the Roti Canai Curry, we also had the Pad Thai, which could have used a bit more spice. The Rendang Goat (Mutton) had some fabulous flavors... Loved the coconut in it, but could have had less bones in the dish. Given it was a small place, had to self serve the dishes and drinks. This is on my re-visit list.

Found this on Yelp. Was craving for Malaysian food. Drove from Oklahoma to this place. Walked in for the first time. The owner/chef asked me how many people. I replied 1. He saw table 9 and told me wait as they will clean it up for me to sit. I waited a long time, nobody came out to clean. There are 2/3 other vacant tables, so I just sat myself and ordered. You need to order and pay at the counter.Tips are required (if paying by credit) before you know how their service is. I asked for a receipt, the cashier said ok but wait. I sat down, waited for a long time. Then stood up waited in line to ask the cashier again. The same owner/chef saw me He asked "WHAT IS YOUR PrOBLEM? What u need help??" ...., is this how you treat customers? By the way, food was below average

Great restaurant! Authentic Singaporean food, and the man who sat us was enthusiastic about his job. The food was nothing short of stellar. The laksa and hinanese chicken were outstanding, and the rice was cooked with ginger and chicken broth. Amazing!

Just got take out for lunch here and everything tastes amazing. If you want a change from the everyday, definitely check this place out. I got Curry Laksa mee (seafood soup noodles) and it tastes homey and a little spicy, mostly soul comforting soup. They have another laksa soup (Penang laksa) in a dark broth that's purposely really fishy tasting and if you wanna go adventurous and eat what Anthony Bourdain ate, go for it but I like the orange coconut curry laksa soup the best. Also highly recommend Hainanese Chicken Rice. If you're not used to eating steamed or boiled chicken with the flabby skin on, I'd recommend the fried version but I grew up eating steamed chicken so I loved the steamed version. The rice was cooked in the chicken broth! Nice touch. The flavors are subtle but definitely home style and made with love. No shortcuts. They have really familiar foods and not so familiar which I love because you can slowly scale up your taste adventure over time. Thanks chef, see you next time!
