“I had never been here before even though I've been to San Angelo several times, but my friends had and were raving about it, so I decided to take us out to lunch. I really was not disappointed. The place has a fairly decent sized menu, which, rather than stare at it forever, i ordered the first thing that caught my eye, which was the Stuffed Green Peppers. Which I thought was an u usual but welcomed sight on Mexican restaurant's menu. They had a crisp, not soggy bite with lots of cheese on top, and the ground beef in side was not soggy, although could have been slightly more flavorful. There wdte plenty of beans and rice on the side, with the beans being that nice, creamy consistency with plenty of cheese as well. Also got the Table-side guacamole, which was delicious and fresh too. Overall, it was a good experience, and at only 55 for 3 people I thought that was reasonable enough. My sweet tea could have maybe been a little sweeter but that's only a very minor gripe.“
“This place is a complete vibe. It is rich with culture, authentic music, and really good food. It's not big in size, it's a cozy experience that packs a mighty punch when it comes to food and drinks. The service was top notch and timely. The chips and salsa flow freely. Something a little different from other restaurants is that the salsa is served really warm. I had the cheese enchiladas and the gravy on them was EVERYTHING. I ordered one beef enchilada,as a add on. I have to admit that it didn't quite stand up to the cheese ones. All in all, It is definitely a place you should give a try!“
“If you try this place, you will not be sorry. Star the 4.5 stars on here and gave it a try. Seriously like the best steak tacos I've ever had, so much flavor. The Salsa's were great as well. The place was very clean and friendly staff. Will definitely be back again this week before I leave town. Well done Armenta's“
“Very good family run restaurant with a variety of Mexican/American choices. Prices were very reasonable and the owners were super friendly. We had a combo plate and the cheese enchiladas were exceptionally tasty. Always nice to find a great local place.“
“Husband and I visited here for the first time and had a great experience. The service was good and we liked the decor/atmosphere. He ordered the Ricardo Fuentes special, a chicken breast covered in cheese sauce and I had the chicken fajitas, both with rice beans and fresh tortillas. Will definitely return to try more of what La Historia has to offer.“
“It’s always a good experience when I come here. I love that they give you two creamy sauces to compliment your food. The waitresses are very friendly. Great place to eat at anytime you want to relax. They have a byob or you can purchase one of their buckets of beer dressed if not. Definitely recommend this place. Especially to all the single men. :) a very good place for them to relax and take their minds off of work for sure.“
“came to the grill recently & the food was amazing. i got the nachos during happy hour & the portion for the price is unbeatable. Tayler was our bartender & she is the best. i always go to see her cause he anticipates our needs & is very personable.“
“By far, the best Mexican food restaurant in town!! Quick and friendly service every time! Their food is simply and amazingly delicious no matter what you order. It can get super busy, especially during the lunch hour, but the wait is well worth it! You will not be disappointed.“
“We have been coming here since moving to San Angelo years ago! The food is always hot and delicious, the service is great and everyone is friendly. They also have the best white sauce in town too. I always get the horchata and it's always yummy. The chicken quesadillas, chicken fried steak, and enchiladas are my go too, but you can't go wrong with anything.“
“The food was great and the employees were very generous and helpful,my niece accidentally threw up and the the guy cleaning the tables was quick to help clean up my I was going to clean up with my napkins and he said, I got it ma'am,it was not a problem to them, and we have gone out to eat and some of the watiers roll there eye on us, I give them a 10 on their services thank y'all very much, and Merry Christmas ?⛄“
“I love this place!!! If you want something slightly different from other places and still taste great, I highly recommend this place. I've tried a lot of food, drinks and snacks here and haven't found one I dislike yet. So I really do like this one a lot.“
“We just had the pleasure of running into Edgar at Los Gallos Bakery and Restaurant. We wanted to try a couple of new pastries, and since we were unfamiliar with the menu, Edgar broke everything down for us. That was incredibly helpful, and we are so excited to go back and try their fresh tortillas and other foods next time. Highly recommend!“
“Upon entering door, the aroma of classic Mexican fare just fills your nostrils. Barbacoa, Chorizo, Beans, Rice, Guiso, Lengua. Staples of a great Hispanic eatery in the morning hours. One thing besides the smell of the delicious food and fresh warm tortillas is the place is well lit. The lights are shining above the fresh food. They say we eat with eyes and here at Primo's it brings truth to that proverb. I highly recommend this place. Everything looks, smells and tastes as if your friend's Abuela had made it. If you just like Bean and Cheese to even Eggs & Papas, even the simplest burrito remains paragon! Check this place out!!!!!!! 5 out of 5 Stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!“
“Came here on a date, the parking lot is great and there is plenty of space to park. We walked in and we're greeted and sat immediately. The place was pretty full, lots of booths and tables. After we were seated the server brought us chips and salsa plus we ordered the queso which was delicious. The server was quick to take our drink order and even quicker to bring our drinks out. They offer soda and a great selection of alcohol and mixed drinks. I ordered the fish tacos and my wife the chimichanga both of which tasted phenomenal. They both came with black refried beans and Mexican rice which tasted amazing. Overall great service and great food will definitely be back.“
“Coming from San Antonio, had no idea what the craze was for a breakfast burrito. Once coming here, it's pretty similar to our breakfast tacos. I did like that you get to see all options right infront of you and get the option to mix and match what you want. Overall everything was seasoned really well and the workers pumped the burritos out quick.“
“Great food, great price, and the new seating area gives the restaurant a nice feel... Definitely more than I expected when I drove by it a couple of times... The service is great as well, will be here for lunch as often as my pant size permits“
“A Texas version of the corner diner Pepes is the place for dependable good food with no frills. This "ain't" the waitresses first rodeo--they know their jobs and take care of you--friendly and efficiently.Hamburger is not your fast food burger, it's the real deal, tastes like Dad's @ a picnic IMHO.TexMex as authentic as it comes. Hot sauce is hot butt not I'm gonna die hot. My only disappointment, tacos only come in hard starts!4.9 starrs for a diner.Vegetarian options: Cheese Enchiladas, saladsParking: Watch for potholesWheelchair accessibility: Floor, flat, no booths, only tables“
“My husband and I popped in wanting some authentic street style tacos - did not disappoint. Excellent tacos (we had shrimp tacos with rice and beans). Very friendly service. Food truck with nice, shaded porch seating. We were asked numerous times how everything was and if we needed anything. Did I say EXCELLENT tacos? Yum. We'll be back!“
“The food has always been amazing here, no matter what you order. They have a giant 12" enchiladas that is great for splitting or just saving for the next day! Make sure to support your waitress, cause they work very hard with as little staff as they have to meet your needs.“
“We stopped in with a large group. They were very accommodating for all of us (plus one dog!)Our server was friendly and efficient, especially concerning how many of us there were. She brought our drinks with the chips and delicious spicy salsa. The fajitas are excellent. The serving is big enough to share or take for leftovers. Everyone complimented the food. Our server was so sweet. She did an excellent job waiting on all 25 of us.So Glad we found this place.“
“Me, my sister, and three small, hungry and rowdy children went to this amazing restaurant. They were patent with us, kind to us, and the food was fantastic. Neat art on the walls, friendly staff. Price was great for service and food. We were visiting from out of town and wanted something local and delicious. This checked all the boxes. Thanks !“
“Absolutely great. I get the chicken fried steak with a cheese enchilada on the side. That's my go to order every single time and it's top tier... their enchilada sauce is the best, their chicken fried steak is the best. A small local mom and pop restaurant that hasn't change since I was a toddler still is the best thing around... keep it up guys the food still has me craving it from time to time even after YEARS?????“
“First time in the area. Was heading to our favorite burger place. Saw the sign that said “Best Mexican Food “ so I had to see what f they were boasting of if it was confidence. I was pleased to find the latter. We ordered breakfast tacos. I’m particularly when it comes to tacos. They were amazing! Tortitas were warm and soft. Just soft enough to hold in my potatoes and egg. I ordered a sausage and egg as well. All I had room for was one. I am impressed. Definitely going back tomorrow. Oh, and the staff was very welcoming. Great spot! Great food! Great staff! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️?“
“After Sunday School these last couple of weeks my Wife and I have been going to Casa Ocampo Mexican Restaurant & Bar with some of our Sunday School Classmates. We have not been here before but we have been to Los Panchitos, which is the same, but different location who recently changed their name from Los Panchitos to Casa Ocampo. (this one did, not the other location) The same eating area for the group is used every week, kind of in the back by itself and large enough to hold whoever shows up. Nicole is our Server and she provides the tables with lots of Chips and a Very Delicious Red Sauce with a bit of spiciness - nicely done. We all have our drinks and are enjoying those Chips and Sauce and now it's time to order. Our first time here my Wife and I arrived a little late and some of the people were already being served. We noticed some Very Large Chicken Tenders and some Beef/Chicken Fajitas that were enough for several people - and were thinking about those but decided to order the same thing from their Senior Menu, "Cheese Enchilada"; ($8.99) covered in a Cheese-Chili Gravy, served with Onions, Cole Slaw, Salad, Beans & Rice. We found out later that those Large Chicken Tenders were actually Chicken Strips from their Senior Menu - next time that's what we want and that's what my Wife ordered today - "Chicken Strips"; ($8.99) Crispy Battered Chicken Strips served with French Fries or Baked Potato (went with loaded Baked Potato), Cheesy Gravy, Salad & Toast. I am going with their "Chicken Fried Steak"; ($8.99) Smaller Portion of the Deliciously Breaded Chicken Fried Steak atop Cheesy-Gravy. Served with French Fries or Baked Potato and a Salad. Chose Loaded Baked Potato and Ranch for the Salad. I Love Chicken Fried Steak but my Doctor told me some time back that CFS is not really good for you but it's okay to enjoy 'once-a-year' - and I do take my Doctors advise seriously. Right now I am now up to the year 2462 - but don't tell my Doctor. Orders are placed and we are enjoying those Crispy Chips with that Spicy Red Sauce. Nicole keeps everyones basket filled with those Chips and brought out a Pitcher of their Red Sauce so everyone would have their 'refills' already in place - Nicely Done Nicole. On both times we have been here, Nicole has earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award and loved it. She provides the Best Customer Service one could ever expect and Casa Ocampo is pretty busy every Sunday at this time. Soon our food started arriving and everyones plate looks Scrumptiouslyscrumptious. My Wife's Chicken Strips are some really Large Plumped Chicken that are Perfectly Breaded with a nice crunch. (i ate one and it was really big & thick). She ate the other two and enjoyed the Fresh Salad and the Loaded Baked Potato was prepared Just-Right. Hers comes with Texas Toast but I had the honor of enjoying it and it was really good. My Chicken Fried Steak was also some pretty good stuff - love the breading and that Cheesy-Gravy was the right touch and I did not Feel Guilty about enjoying #2462 - just don't tell my Doctor. A Loaded Baked Potato is always a plus, as this one was, especially with a little of that Cheesy-Gravy. The Salad was Fresh and Tasty and the Ranch really good. Both of our meals were a great choice and next time we just might go for those Beef/Chicken Fajitas. The Aroma fills the air and really makes your mouth drool when served. Casa Ocampo Mexican Restaurant & Bar is a really nice place to enjoy some really good food. The Owner always goes around to all the tables and chats with everyone - it's a San Angelo thing - it's what they all do here. Check'em out on Facebook and On-Line'. It was a fun and entertaining Lunch with our Friends from our Sunday School Class - lots of stories told and fun times shared - and I'm taking notes. Thank You All for a most Wonderful time - and Thank You Baby for all that you do and you do a lot. Love You Bunches & MexicanMunches.“
“Hidden gem! I have resided in here for over 10 years and had no idea of this quaint little place. Service was great and the food was fresh and delicious! My wife took me for breakfast and they have a full menu so she ordered the flautas and for 8am- they were probably the best I’ve had in this city. Guacamole was fresh and the red salsa was deliciously spicy! 10/10 recommend!!“
“Hands down the best tortillas and tacos(burritos) in town, maybe anywhere. Friendly folks who have been there for years and remember your name and order. The Corner Stop is the OG and top of my list any time I have visitors.Parking: Small lot, can sometimes be hard to get in/out but ample parking across the street when they get busy.“
“I love getting my breakfast burritos in the morning and I've gone to several different burrito places but I hadn't gone to Iliana's. Let me tell you, she has the best ones by Far. All the rest I've eaten are as greasy as they come. It's like they just can't serve them if they don't put all the grease they can on it. Iliana's somehow makes them with as little grease as possible (if any) making it nice to eat a burrito WITHOUT any grease running down your arm or soaking your napkin that holds it or even soaking the bag it comes in, and great taste as well. She has coffee, chips, fresh roasted whole peppers and awesome salsa, along with a dine in area just like the others and better/competitive prices. Why go anywhere else for breakfast or lunch for that matter?? BEST BURRITO PLACE IN TOWN!!“
“We came to eat here today for our first time. The cashier was very friendly and explained what was offered. We decided to order the all you can eat tacos per person with mango Agua Frescas. We were given the wristbands and sent to sit outside. The tent had 3 types of tacos, al pastor, carnitas, and chicken. The cook was very efficient and friendly. You can get 4 at a time, and dress them how you want. These were so delicious. The whole family ate good. The owner came to the back to turn on the lights and the music and was very friendly, making sure all of her customers were satisfied. We will definitely be coming back!Kid-friendliness: There is a Foosball table. But not really any other kid activities. The cook was very sweet when my kids ask for their tacos..“
“If you haven’t been out there since the remodel, you have got to check it out. Really nice bar, great service, and the food is amazing! If you’re downtown, you definitely need to stop in and try it.This time I got the Fuentes Special, which is like a steak Ranchero with all the right stuff. Check it out!“
“The food is always fresh and delicious. This go round, however, they were letting a few men go around and solicit customers for money/donations. I'm a supporter of many organizations and religious/recovery persons. I would just rather not be solicited while eating inside an establishment. Just a personal thing that totally turned me off. Otherwise this place is a good meal at a very reasonable price and I do like that they help people out, just wish it could have been in a different manner.“
“The best spicy asado by far! The burritos are a bit pricey but with how much they stuff one you’ll definitely get full! The other competitors burritos are so small and tortillas have a weird texture to them almost like rubbery so these guys are the way to go!“
“The food was amazing, the service was awesome, and everything was just words can describe, I had the menudo, and it was the best I have had since I had it homemade. The chorizo and egg burrito were so good, plus they served breakfast all day, and they also gave you a refill on your menudo if you didn't have enough... I highly recommend this place if you're ever in San Angelo.“
“It was our monthly get together. We heard there would be singing in the restaurant. We thought we would join in the fun. Our experience was very fun and exciting. The food was delivered hot and delicious.Thumbs up to our waiter, Ashton!Parking: There's plenty of parking. There is parking on front and back side of restaurant.“
“Delicious meals! I got the chicken and squash burrito and a Barbacoa burrito, owner was friendly and the lady who serves the food was great to deal with, all and all delicious! Also the food is ready to go if your in a hurry!!Stop by you'll be glad you did!!“
“I do not live in San Angelo but I grew up there. My cousin took us to Rancho Grande because she said the lunch is soo good. We had breakfast because it was still early and nothing needed salt or seasoning. We lived it We do not like to have to put salsa all over the food to give it flavor, and this was not the case here. Absolutely loved it.Parking: Plenty of space.Kid-friendliness: There were kids there, families eating.“
“I'm from the Midwest and I've always been frustrated by the low quality of food at Mexican restaurants around my area. I wasn't sure if I just disliked the cuisine or hadn't yet eaten the good stuff.Camaron Loco showed me the light. The food was astonishingly good, with hospitable service to match. They have set the bar for quality Mexican food - I now have a golden standard of comparison as I continue to seek worthwhile restaurants once I'm back home.Thank you, Camaron Loco. I will remember this meal for years to come.“
