“Can’t say enough great things about this restaurant! We dine here frequently and it’s always delicious with excellent service. The staff is so attentive and really care about the guests experience. Food is always so good- highly recommend!!“
“The food was delicious, amazing sushi rolls, very high quality seafood. Wonderful spring rolls as well. Very friendly staff, only issue was the women's bathroom was not handicap accessible due to a shelf blocking the door. I hope they fix that, because we will be returning.Wheelchair accessibility: only issue was the women's bathroom was not handicap accessible due to a shelf blocking the door“
“I love this place best and freshest sushi and sashimi. Stumbled on this place for lunch ended up booking for the Valentine’s Day 5 course meal it was great! I usually don’t like seafood but this changed my mind for sure. We will definitely keep coming here 10/10 for sure.“
“The takeaway packaging is exquisite. The ramen is separated from the soup, ensuring that the noodles don't soak in the soup for too long and become soft, while maintaining the flavor of the soup. The self-service takeout ordering machine is also very convenient, saving your time of waiting to order. 100% Will come back again.祝生意兴隆!“
“They have the best customer service and I will have to say the freshest sushi I have ever had. We got fatty tuna, tuna, fatty salmon, salmon, fatty yellowtail, and sea urchin. Everything was perfect and extremely delicious. We ended up ordering the same exact order twice because it was so good.“
“I had the best experience at Kona Grill, tonight. Initially I didn't even want to go eat, I had enough after THIS day. Our server, Marisol, changed all of that. She was exceptionally attentive. Never was my glass empty, we didn't have to ask for anything. Marisol, thank you for turning my night around. I'll definitely be back and request your section. ❤️“
“One of my favorite sushi restaurants to eat in San Antonio. The food is always excellent. The spicy edamame is a great starting appetizer for any occasion. Friendly staff and laidback, casual vibes which I appreciate. I also enjoy when they have live music. Overall it’s a gem.“
“A nice date night place if you want to throw down on good Japanese food. The all you can eat menu is decently priced. Food comes out prompt and delicious and the wait staff are great, bear in mind the place gets busy but that is imo an indicator of a good place to be. Come hungry!“
“I just had the most amazing Chinese food experience! The place was super cute, the food was incredibly tasty and wonderful, and the staff were beyond helpful. I highly recommend it to anyone craving delicious Chinese cuisine. You won't be disappointed!" The sushi was on point also!!“
“After spending two years in Japan it has been difficult to find ramen that is halfway decent. Hero’s has been the best we’ve found! It’s almost like being in Japan ? Love the food, service, and the 5 different anime shows going at any time. Best ramen is a tie between Hero’s spicy miso and the spicy tantan! Only wish the gyoza was pan seared instead of fried, but it doesn’t stop me from ordering it almost every time.“
“Good dinner with fresh food prepared with great sauces. Service was attentive and fast, excellent. The room is a bit noisy. Price is justified by the overall quality of the food and service. Sushi was somewhat ordinary but we chose something more standard and was good quality.“
“Lunch portion was a pretty decent size, pad thai was good, though I think next time I'll get a hot instead of the medium since it was still pretty mild for my taste. The thai tea was too milky. Overall I would visit again.Parking: Went around lunch time, parking was ok but the lot is shared with other businesses so it might be more difficult during the dinner rush“
“probably my favorite sushi place in SA. everything is always fresh (stuff is flown in as well). staff is always great and very welcoming. the menu outside of sushi is really solid as well. have never had anything from here i wasn’t a fan of. grab a seat by the window for a nice ambiance. can’t say enough good things about this place. would highly recommend and will be back again soon!Kid-friendliness: bring my daughter here all the time. kid friendly menu options“
“The service was amazing. I don't tip often, but I had no problem giving Chloe (I hope that was her name) a $18 tip. Every staff member: from the guy who ran around picking up plates, to the guys making the food/sushi, and all the waiters/waitresses were working together to knockout service. I took my partner there for an early birthday dinner, and it was our first time here, but Chloe made our experience so memorable. We will definitely come back again soon. We didn't feel rushed, nor pressured to leave, and any questions we had were answered. I also loved that the quality of food was a step above from some of their competitors and consistently good. Every item I had was fresh, good, and presented well. I'm a picky eater, and I assure anyone who reads this that I didn't have anything tonight that I didn't like or vibe withDefinitely, please come try this place and experience it yourselves“
“Definitely five stars on this place. FRESH. FAST. And amazing service. I got a poke bowl with salmon and toppings and it was seriously the best poke bowl I have ever had. The owner is super sweet and family oriented (which we love) and I love the idea of supporting this local family as well.“
“We came here to celebrate a birthday and everything was just perfect. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The gentleman who cooked our teppanyaki was so funny and entertaining. The food was all really good and it was so much that we all have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.“
“This place, although empty while we were here, was a real hidden gen, set away from most of the restaurants closer to 281.The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the food was great! My wife had Panang Curry and I had the sushi lunch special, which was honestly the best sushi I've had in a long time; it's hard to know for sure, maybe since forever. Their lunch specials are a very good deal, and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to have delicious Thai food and/or sushi. They also have an extensive tea selection, and we both got some since we were celebrating our birthdays together. We ordinarily just have water.I hope the emptiness of the store was just a fluke of when we happened to be there. I hope this restaurant (and others like it) stay around for decades to come.Parking: The parking was plentiful, as the site is in a typical American strip mall with a large parking lot.“
“Awesome service, clean environment and excellent food that comes out quick! I recommend the Hardy roll as a desert or meal and the Rowdy Roll. So yummy and some of my favorites. They have a lot of other options from lunch to dinner. Great spot.“
“This is certainly a hidden gem. Do not let location cloud your judgment. This was a great experience. Stopped by and our server Josue G. walked us through the menu. Calamari was tender and very crunchy. Our sushi was excellent. We both ordered the cucumber salad and were very happy with our selection. The prices are great and reasonable. Wife had sushi, I had General Tso. Crunchy tender cuts of chicken served over a sweet brown sauce. You can really taste the sesame oil. Delicious. I had to order another oder of egg rolls they were so good. My new favorite spot.“
“BEST SUSHI I HAVE EVER HAD IN SAN ANTONIO.Tried all the sushimis and the freshness was on a level unmatched. The fish melted in my mouth and was so soft and delicious. The picante rolls we got were amazing. Absolutely the best combination of flavors I have ever witnessed in a sushi roll. I also tried the rojo taco and wow, the perfect amount of spice with the tuna that gave that lingering feel but wasn’t so overwhelming it ruined the food.“
“Went by myself the other day. Had the Ribeye (med-rare) and a side order of Gyoza. Gyoza was like 8 pcs to my surpise so it's more like an order for 2. Ribeye wasn't too bad, better than most, but nothing to really write home about either. Overall I liked it more for the experience than the food and def reccomend you come with a party. Might come back with the fam and will probably try something else next time.“
“Love this place!! I'm very Allergic to avocado, This is one of the few places that I have found. That will make my sushi without the avocado and remember not to cross. Contaminate with using the same knives, Sushi roller or cutting boards. Beyond those safety measures particular lee for me, the sushi is amazing. My favorite is the ceché roll!Dietary restrictions: They have always been careful to not Cross contaminate when I have explained my allergy to avocado.“
“We were happy to find this highly rated sushi restaurant open a little later on a Saturday night. We ordered a pot of hot green tea to share. My husband ordered some smoked salmon, yellow tail, tuna, and shrimp nigiri sushi & sashimi. I ordered the Iku Iku roll and Wild Goji Signature Roll based on reviews. I loved both of the rolls and we enjoyed everything! Very tasty and appealing to the eye. Atmosphere was quieter and mellow. Exactly what we were looking for. We have found a new sushi favorite in SA.“
“This place rocks!! The reason why i am a regular at this restaurant is because of the great customer service, the atmosphere & the food. When you sum it all up, that's what makes this restaurant the best Japanese restaurant based out of SA.Photo features The Jalapeno Tempura Poppers!! So good!“
“The food is delicious, seriously. Perfectly seasoned, grilled just right (it better be, it's DIY, I hope you don't mess it up), you can always have Omma or Oppa do it in the back for you too, and they'll probably do it better than you. They give you 7 Banchan (Side Dishes), and a bowl of Bap with your dish. A tradition in Korean food, symbolizing the love of a mother. Come to Kim's Galbi with an empty stomach, and you wont leave hungry..The servers are wonderful too. Homeboy was quick to bring me drink refills, clean empty dishes, my server had a serious demeanor but absolutely took care of what he needed to. 10/10.Parking: It's a stand alone restaurant, you won't be paying for parking.Kid-friendliness: Keep your child's hands and feet off the grill and they'll be fine.Wheelchair accessibility: It's one story and easy to navigate.“
“I love this place n my food it was delicious!! one of the best places To have a good, family dinner 100% recommended we had a good waiter his name is Javier very friendly and very attentive to our table ? I recommend this place super delicious dishes! !!“
“Food is ALWAYS amazing. I’m leaving four stars because Waitress was on her phone while literally taking our order. She had an attitude problem and was getting annoyed when we wanted to order more. She was on her phone almost the whole time lol. We also said thank you multiple times when making orders or asking for water and such and she didn’t say anything. She honestly looks miserable and doesn’t look like she wants to be there.“
“I am a big fan of poke bowls and this is the first one I've tried in San Antonio!! The fish options are very fresh and they also offer eel? Very nice and tasty They also don't limit the amount of toppings you can choose so I chose basically everything but they have your traditional options such as seaweed and crab salad and other more contemporary options such as kale and hot Cheetos?? I wuv crunchy and sour daikon and ginger Overall I definitely recommend! The server was very patient and gave big portions of the sides so :) very happy I am pretty picky about the quality of raw fish n this was definitely not bad for a poke place!“
“WOW-! Ive been going to Asoko for around a year to two and they have never failed me-! They had really nice servers and very friendly! We ordered big daddy roll, yakisoba, ikura, spicy scallop (I think) and can’t name the other sushi, and some skewers, but I recommend all of them. They gave us ice cream tempura for my parents anniversary, and it was delicious! We also ordered some green tea ice cream which is something we ate even if our buttons were bursting ? For those who reads to know, Yes there is a nice clean bathroom! Recommendations and reminders: lunch and dinner menus are different and you won’t be able to have any lunch items when it’s dinner hours. U recommend getting a sushi roll if you like them, the ingredients are conveniently placed and you can pick from there, I like the big daddy and one of the salmon rolls they are the best-! To summarize: Great food, amazing servers, nice bathrooms, amazing desserts, and I would recommend this place to anyone-!“
“This hole in the wall restaurant is my new favorite Thai place. The first time I went I got the red curry which is phenomenal. It is such a wonderful comfort dish. And my boyfriend got the Bangkok fried rice. That was good, but I liked mine better! The second time I went I got pad phet, I wanted to try something new and was not disappointed. It was so delicious everything I’ve eaten here I loved I would recommend this to anyone.Vegetarian options: Any dish there can be prepared with or without meat, or with tofu instead.Parking: It’s in a shopping center with a bunch of other businesses so it is a little difficult to find parking.Wheelchair accessibility: This business is on the first floor with no steps“
“This is by far the best restaurant I have visited in a while. Great food, and I loved our waiter who brought me a couple of tiny sipping cups so I could try a different wine than what I normally get. They're constantly coming to check on you regardless if it's their table or not. Love love it here. Quiet and friendly who could ask for anything more“
“Pho flavor was very mild and average. Not bad, but not great either. Ingredients were nice and fresh though. I couldn’t eat more than 2 bites of the 420 tots. Such a weird and foreign mix of flavors with a very intense smell. The smell was something like cat food or fish food flakes. Atmosphere and boba were fantastic. Cute place with a little Asian store inside.“
“Great place if you enjoy loud live Mexican Banda & Norteño music. Food is ok. Drinks are expensive and decent. Overall its a good place to enjoy being out withoit the need of being in a club! Plus the kitchen is open all night!! So you eat, drink, sing, dance...repeat!!!Kid-friendliness: See kids here all the time. There are a few games and a balloon clown that makes awesome balloon art!!!“
“This place was amazing!! Madison, our server was on point ??. Did I mention the sushi and appetizers are to die for?! Please look at other reviews and pics…make sure to try at least one app and main dish….their flan was amazing!!… We will be back!! New favorite spot in the SA!!Vegetarian options: Just ask and they will accommodate.!! They have salads, they have vegetarian sushi, they will work with you ?Dietary restrictions: There is different portions for different taste.“
“Ate chicken teriyaki and beef bugolgi w rice, dumplings, cabbage salad w asian dressing for 11bucks! Place very clean and staff quick, attentive and friendly. Definitely value for your money and pleasant experience. Worth a trip for a great meal!“
“I’ve been coming to piranha with my lover for the past 5 months, as it is one of their favorite happy hours. A few times the busy hours can be stressful and the service can slack. But let me tell you, game day, cowboys vs eagles, they must have told the A game to come in and serve. I’ve had one of the best experiences today and the food was amazing. The hamachi roll is one of the best things that has graced my tongue in so long. The server I had (Anna) was on point and delivering our drinks super quick and always checking on us. I love coming here even when they in the weeds and today just blew me away, def recommend for happy hour and need to come for lunch ramen.“
“My server was Mattie and she was fantastic! First time ever at Kona Grill and she made great recommendations. The chicken Pad Thai was delicious! Oh and the butter cake for dessert! I cannot recommend her or this food enough! I’ll be back for sure. Thank you to all the staff seen and unseen for creating an awesome experience.“
“As always, teh food at Botika was outstanding! Their menu has a variety of great dishes and sushi! The location at the Pearl in San Antonio could not be better, facing Hotel Emma! The service always very good! The have a very good variaty of beer, wine, and liquor. Can't wait to be back!“
“We have been coming to Tongs for 8 years. My friends come from Beeville and drive 90min to come here. The food is always amazing! I get something different every time and I am never disappointed. The fried spring rolls are Devine, I have dreams about them! Thank You to the Tongs staff for always being excellent!“
“I had the red dragon roll and it was amazing. Service is friendly. Ambiance is nice as it sits in a shaded food truck park but yes the rolls were very fresh and amazing. Only thing I hated was the prices. One roll was 20 bucks. That's pretty crazy. If prices were like 12-14 for rolls yes I'd be back. But I'm not gonna spend 20 even for amazing rolls. That's just too expensive“
“the food was fresh & delicious, you can really tell the cooks & sushi chefs know what they're doing. sushi & nigiri was so good but the surprising star of the bento box was the tempura shrimp & vegetables. they give you a good portion & the batter is so light & airy, it retains that crispness so well & is not soggy at all. I highly recommend it. the only thing i wouldn't get again is the hot tea, it was fine. the bento boxes are also a really great deal because of the portion size as well as the variety you get. everything we ordered, including the norteño roll, was shareable & if you ordered 2-3 entrées its enough food for 4-5 people easily. there was only 2 of us & we had 2 full boxes of leftovers. the place is a little older & it can use some updates (especially the restroom& serving plates/bowls/cups) but it was still a clean cozy space. i cant wait to go back & try different rolls & the sake.“
“Had the small sashimi plate, miso soup, and mochi ice cream for dessert; all were delicious and well worth the money. Staff was friendly and polite. It's a really quaint little shop, too, with lots of cute traditional Japanese decor. Overall a great place to go for a light meal.I should add that my dad loved his San Antonio Rolls.“
“Went to this place once before and loved it. Last Saturday, however there seems to be a time discrepancy with Google/the hours on the door, and when the staff actually arrived. We had to go somewhere else, but overall we liked the vibe when we first ate there and hope we can eventually go again.“
“Skip KONA and drive down the street 4mins from La Cantera to this little hidden gem!! Fresh rolls with great sushi rice and DELICIOUS seaweed salad. The prices are VERY good and the portions are fair and flavorful. This is gonna be from now on a go to place of mine.“
“Outstanding hidden little hideaway in a strip mall off 281!! My first experience with a ramen restaurant. One of the owners was behind the counter when we came in and saw my confusion as I was looking at the menu and took time to explain the ordering process and all the special ingredients. I had the crispy chicken in the pork belly broth ramen and it was SOOOO DELICIOUS. The broth was smooth, salty, hot, and well seasoned. The noodles were tender and plentiful. I did not expect so many different toppings in the soup - it was like an adventure eating such a giant bowl of fresh, delicious ingredients! Between the delicious food and the wonderful, friendly service I will DEFINITELY make this one of my regular stops! Thank you for an incredible meal!“
“Great place, great food. Server was initially very attentive and nice, but then seemed to kinda disappear. We had to ask someone else for refills and a to-go container. We will certainly go back. Things happen. Just kept me from putting 5 states on service.“
“Okay, first off, portions are huge. Food is great. Atmosphere is good. The service... when I say I have never met nor been waited on by a better server than Brandi, that's what I mean. Bar none. I did not have to ask for a single thing. She's a mind reader. What's more impressive is she had 6 tables around me she was doing the exact same thing for. Phenomenal.“
“We had a great experience. Honestly, we did not expect the food to be this delicious. The spicy tuna roll was first class, tuna was fresh and high grade as well as the avocado and cucumber. One of the best I’ve had. The pork gyoza was crunchy and tasty. The noodles were the best plate, the vegetables were crispy and tender, the entire plate just flowed with authentic asian flavors. Highly recommended for a quaint, date night. A modern, contemporary place with a blast from the past. Hard to explain but with a nice, classy atmosphere.“
“I went yesterday and everything was delicious but in my opinion the fried rice wasn’t fried correctly. It didn’t taste like fried rice. I forgot to take a picture of it.The appetizers and the rolls were pretty good. We order the calamari, the soft shell crab, the habanero and Tokyo roll.“
“I wanna start by saying this was the BEST tasting chirashi I’ve had so far in town! Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu when I stated it was my first time dining in. I ordered the bara chirashi .The sashimi tasted so fresh and the presentation speaks for itself! I would definitely recommend this spot for a downtown riverwalk date!“
