“Food was amazing, Pancakes were huge and delicious, Loaded waffles delicious, Eggs were great, Hash browns were quite delectable. Staff and other guests were very nice.”
“Great burritos at a good price. Have tried just about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Very nice staff, friendly and polite. They actually take pride in their jobs! Always clean and organized.Parking: Plenty of parking in the rear of the building.”
“We stopped here on our long drive back from Colorado. It was like having a home cooked meal. Best chicken fried steak, lemon chicken and mashed potatoes/green beans we’ve had in a long time. Great food and service.”
“I was driving by Sweetwater a town in west central Texas and i road by a restaurant that had my last name by coincidence So I had the pleasure of dining at Rodriguez Taqueria, and it was an absolute delight. The food was exceptional, with the menudo and the carne asada being a standout that left my taste buds in disbelief. The great customer service added to the overall fantastic experience, and the owner's warm and welcoming smile was the icing on the cake. I couldn't resist going back three mornings in a row, that's how much I loved it! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great spot. That bihhh was good!!!”
“Hands-down the best surprise of a cross-country trip. The food was outstanding, the bar was clean and fun, the bartenders were even better than the phenomenal food. Jill, Dee, and NASA (Vanessa) made us feel immediately decompressed, appreciated and like we were all old friends. Absolutely recommend any and every part of this place and the people that make it what it is”
“Very good place to eat price is average but it's better than some of the fast food.Wheelchair accessibility: It's go a window in front and some seating outside.”
“I ordered from here for the first time a couple of days ago and I was very impressed! I ordered two med pizzas, cheesy bread, a chicken Alfredo, and a kid's pizza. We had some family over so I wanted to make sure we had enough. I could have probably fed 7-8 people instead of the five I was trying to feed. But that’s okay because I love leftover pizza! The burger pizza was my favorite! I don’t know why it’s so good but I recommend it if you like pickles and mustard. The chicken Alfredo was also a favorite of mine.My only complaint was the wait time. We went at a pretty slow time and ordered carry-out. They told me 25 minutes so we left, went to the store, and came back 30 minutes later. They were still working on it so it probably took 45 minutes total. I think we ordered during shift change or something so I’m not upset about the wait but I wanted to share my experience.I wish I had taken pictures! The atmosphere is also very nice. We will be back because I want to try a hamburger and the wings next time.”
“I have ordered burritos at several places in town but for value, service and quality theirs are the best. Picadillo burrito is my favorite and I’m on a high protein diet. The meat on it is like it should be. Great family business.?”
“The service in this place is amazing! Every table was full, but you still received excellent service and food was fast. My favorite item was definitely the taco on the Mexican plate. It was one of the best tacos I have ever eaten. The guacamole was extremely delicious also.”
“Went with the family, had chicken enchiladas, could use a little moisture to the chicken but over all really good food, son and husband had menudo and was good clean menudo, no smells and they really liked it. Service was very friendly and welcoming and stayed on top of your drink refills and environment was clean and comfortable. I recommend this restaurant as a good decent place to eat in Sweetwater without all the alcohol advertising and drinking involved. Will be going back again.”
“I have been to all the restaurants in Sweetwater and every Mexican food restaurant more than once but I have only been to Lupitas for the last 3 months and don’t see myself going back to the others anytime soon. They have the best Mexican food in town and with that the best prices. My favorite dish use to be the chile rey but here lately I have been getting the ranchero enchiladas and that is 3 different types of enchiladas all with different sauces. The beans and rice at the other places are really dull compared to lupitas and I spend at least 5 dollars more at the other places for lower quality, less tasty and actually less food, when ordering the same thing I mean. I Just wanted to take some time out to thank lupitas because I think they do a great job there and have great prices compared to other places and lupita herself is a very sweet lady. They also have the best tasting salsa and freshest chips without a doubt.”
“The burritos are outstanding! I considered 4 and not 5 stars because this business closes down without warning. I have to give 5 stars, though. Their food is just really good. Salsa is perfection!Parking: I use the drive up window.”
“Great place! First timers, Mr. Big Boy up at the front seemed upset at first, but then he shook that off and was funny and helpful. We were there at 4:00 pm and the place looked closed but then the OPEN sign turned on and we parked immediately. I'm so glad we did not drive away, and the only thing that held us waiting at the parking lot was that we were looking for a place to eat on maps, lol. We will definitely come again on our next work trip out here! Thank you Big Boy!”
“For 45 years, Gills has been my culinary companion. The chicken is fantastic, the sides equally so. But let me share a little secret – the steak fingers. Yes, you read that right. They quietly steal the spotlight, effortlessly competing with the best in the steak game. Superb, if I may say so!”
“This is a good place for home style food. The seating takes getting used to. You pick a seat at a large table and share with strangers. Other than that, it is my new favorite place to eat. Everything on the table is what my moms dinner table looked like. It took me back home.”
