Was in the Temple area today on business around lunchtime. I Googled “best restaurants in Temple” and Oscar Store popped up with the reviews stating “best chicken fried steak hands down”. Well, that’s a mighty bold claim I’ve heard MANY times before, and I’ve literally tried them all over Texas. I wanted to check out this mythical place for myself. Amazing food service and just good country food. Highly recommend chicken fried steak, chicken club sandwich, fried pickles, fried mushroom, Mashed potatoes, fried okra home fries. Amazing customer service and you have to love the country Texas accents. "Outhouse" Bathrooms were really nice and fun outside stage and big games make this a hidden Gem in North Central TX.
