The absolute best BBQ! Great flavor. They are open Thursday thru Sunday 11 am till the meat runs out. Kelly and Cary are the epitome of great owners. Cary can cook meat. And the flavor even without the sauce is amazing. I very highly recommend this place. Just a short drive off interstate 20. Worth the detour. And the tea comes in a mason jar. Wonderful place. You can dine on the patio or take it to go. It is cash only no cards so stop at the ATM. It’s worth it.

Food is very, very good. Do not judge this book by its cover, or you will be missing out on somereally good food. Best to call in your order early. We didn't ?. They were sold out on Ribs. When they run out, that is it. There is no indoor dining. Plan on taking home. Lol and plan on leftovers for the next day. Also, there are no credit cards. Cash or Zelle. I used Zelle. Wowwww! I’m not someone who does reviews normally…but My husband and I have tried numerous BBQ joints looking to find the BEST stuffed baked potato (with a side of ribs)…and WE FINALLY FOUND IT!!!?? It was more than plentiful. The portions were enormous, the brisket taste was amazing, the ribs were smoked and very tender, and the owners were awesome! The restaurant has a nice country store appeal to it.☺️ We are so happy that we no longer have to spend our money on disappointments…HILLTOP HICKORY BBQ will now be our go-to spot when we need a good “stuffed baked potato” fix,lol. If you live in Texas or just visiting…you have to try them before you pass judgement on what real “TEXAS” BBQ tastes like. It was so good, we ate it without BBQ sauce. Realize this…if you have to drown the bbq in sauce for good flavor then that’s not good bbq …that’s just good sauce,lol. So we tried our potatoes and ribs WITHOUT the bbq sauce(like always) and the truth was revealed…FLAVORFUL TASTE THROUGH AND THROUGH! Even so, I don’t doubt that the bbq sauce would’ve been awesome too! Just do yourself a favor and try the meat before adding sauce to it then you’ll see just what I’m talking about. It's not often you find a place after the first bite you can tell whoever cooked this meat took their time. Loved the ribs and loaded potato everything was delicious. Hickory Hill definitely sets the gold standard for both its food and service! Their service was unmatched. The food (baked potato, brisket, ribs, chicken, potato salad and beans) exceeds 5 star. All food was very flavorful . The brisket seemingly melts in your mouth. Let me rave about the lemonade which made its grand and appealing presentation in a quart jar!! My my my! It was the best lemonade that I’ve EVER had. This wasn’t just the typical everyday barbecue. Every time we travel to east TX, it’ll be a must have.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. Kelly and her husband are wonderful people, and definitely added to the charm of this place. My husband and I got two steak plates, and those rib eyes were bigger than my face! Definitely get some of Kelly's "moonshine" (non-alcoholic) it is heaven in a jar! We will definitely be making this our new Sunday spot! Lots of food options from tacos to burgers and BBQ!
