“Hands down best restaurant in Central Texas. Food is original, healthy, and delicious every time. Quesadilla Burger is to die for. The carrot cake may be the best cake I have tasted anywhere in my life. The first building burned down and the place only came back better!“
“I’m craving the yucca fries already. Smaller place but that just makes for a more intimate experience. Worth any wait if you get there and there is one; we went a little later in the evening and there was an open table for us upon arrival. We all got something different and shared bites of each other’s meal and everything just was so good. I remember when they opened in Union Hall a while back and we tried it and probably went back 4 or 5 times that week and it was our go to place to bring friends from out of town….that being said this location was even better I think. Definitely will go back and hopefully soon. The salsa was delicious and even though it had a little kick, I couldn’t stop eating it or get enough!“
“Maria Mezcaleris boasts probably the best Mexican food in Waco. I have tried many things on the menu and have never been disappointed. The Carnitas is especially good. For a brunch hack, add carnitas to the chilaquiles verde - you will not be disappointed! Bar boasts and impressed mezcal selection and servers with knowledge yo direct your tastes. Will continue to be a repeat customer!Parking: Ample free street parking on both cross streetsWheelchair accessibility: Ramp to the front door from the main sidewalk“
“Stopped in and had 3 tacos, corn in a cup, and a bottled Coke. All the tacos were great (asada, carnitas, chicharron) and corn was not watery or dry. Area was clean and lighting was great as the sun had already set. I ordered and was given a buzzer that went off when my order was ready. Will definitely visit again when I'm in the area.“
“I just got off work late, so hungry. This place, I've been wanting to try, and it was right by my house. So, I stopped and ordered a birria quesadilla with a pineapple water. I realized I left my wallet at home, I told her she could cancel or I could go grab my wallet real quick. She was so nice! They were closing, she said go grab it and it would be ready. I didn't take me 5 minutes to come back. My food was hot and ready, all the fixings and my diet Dr. Kelp rerren to go ... I didn't even make it home and my food was almost gone .. sooooooo delicious! Pineapple water, 5 stars all the way... New fave! I love this place and the people too! They are the sweetest!“
“Whenever we're at the Waco Downtown Farmer's Market, we ALWAYS stop by Muchos Tacos. Their barbacoa tacos are seriously the best, and we've loved everything else we've tried, too! Definitely something on the menu for everyone! I also love that they're a small business operating in the area. Our interactions with everyone on staff have been nothing but positive!Kid-friendliness: The street corn tacos are the perfect size for small hands! Full flavor but spice is added by taste through the various salsas offered.“
“If you live in Waco and you haven't tried La Chona, you don't know what you have in town. I live in Fort Worth and I drive all the way there for their delicious and very authentic Mexican food.I've had, chiles rellenos, mole, sopes, tacos, and even the Semana Santa special food which was nopalitos con tortas de camarón. ???Eating here is like eating at my mom's. That good this place is!Best taquería in Waco without a doubt and the service is always excellent!!!5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“
“Delicious pupusas and friendly service! We will definitely be back the next time we are in Waco.Parking: The house is on a corner in a neighborhood, parking is on the street in the neighborhood and we had no trouble finding a place to park.“
“Food was good a little on the pricey side for their food. Food was good no issues with our order. My family and I was in town visiting and we were traveling with two of our fur babies. We needed a place to eat that was dog friendly. The patio seating is dog friendly. My daughter and I shared the steak fajita and my husband got a burrito. Portions were good sized but with tip we paid almost 75 and that was only two meals and drinks.“
“The best tacos in Waco. The only thing they're missing is a better sauce. But above all they are delicious. I recommend them!!! Order from Asada, tongue, barbecue. The meat was very soft and the tacos were hot. I didn't look at corn.“
“I went and got tamales today? Yummy!!!! She even let me try a hot one which I thought I could handle lol, she offered me water I told her I could handle it, got in the car took a bite and OMG ? THAT WAS HOT! BUT GOOD!!! ? Thanks for making awesome tamales and being so nice.“
“Very delicious food! My kids and I are from out of town & I told them you can never go wrong with a taco truck. I was not even wrong. Fresh hot delicious food, wonderful service and a nice safe little spot here. Definitely will come back when in the area Gracias!“
“Being from Chihuahua I am always looking for something that reminds me of home, they had amazing food and atmosphere, you can tell they work well as a team, we had huevos rancheros and their chips and salsa was a hit, the barbacoa burrito, chorizo and egg, let’s just say all of their food was made with Gods hands. Homemade tortilla set the bar high, amazing flavor. Will come back if in the area. Thank you to the staff and team. Bendiciones“
“We had Andrea as our server. She was very friendly and personable, answered any questions we had, and knew the menu.We got the guacamole salad, chicken fajitas, and a combo plate. I forgot the name.Chips were crisp, salsa was nice with a building heat, and while the guacamole was just mashed avocados, they were perfectly ripe. Huge chunks of chicken for the fajitas. The tamales were so good as were the charro beans, refried beans, and the RICE. The rice was very tasty. The prices were extremely fair. Will absolutely return.“
“It's been a while since I've posted a review, but these guys are totally worth it. I had the Torta Cubana. It was huge and delicious! The bread was fresh and had just the right amount of toastiness. It was crunchy but not hard. It was so good I ordered two more tortas to go, just so my family could try them. Great service too! The owner is the cook and the wife is at the register, so you know it'll be good. When in Waco, totally try out this small inconspicuous hole on the wall spot!“
“We eat here for every special occasion. Food is great, service is exceptional. Choosing to eat here never gets old. Seeing this place over the years and enjoying the same quality, knowing the same smiling faces as well as the affordability , this family owned restaurant just makes coming back so worth it! There are lots of places to eat a meal here but we just love the consistency of this restaurant. Great food. Great prices. Great service.“
“First time to Torchys and definitely not the last. Although I don't live or work in Waco anymore, a friend and I had lunch here on Monday. It was a "missed you" and "you've got this" for something she's facing this week. The fajitas were amazing!! Thank you!! Keep up the great everything!“
“Good food, and a good location. The parking lot is very small. Always busy here. Best to order ahead of arrival, otherwise you could be waiting for a little longer than you might want. This isn't a place for sit-down and dining, the building is very small. However, your food will be hot, delicious, and the perfect portion. No complaints. Would be great if they opened up in more locations.Parking: Small, cramped. Not good for extended trucks.“
“This place was amazing!!! All of the staff were very kind people and the food was incredible. The meals came out quickly and it was easily some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. From the Alamo Plate, which was extremely fresh, to the Burrito Bowl, every aspect of the food was delicious—even the chips were incredible. My family thoroughly enjoyed our experience and we highly recommend this restaurant.“
“YUM! Y’all if you’re in Lacy Lakeview you need to stop in here. I swung by for the first time yesterday & I was so delighted at how tasty & fresh the food was. I got a Barbacoa Taco (cilantro, onions, meat, corn tortillas) is was melt in your mouth! Also, the Gordita was stellar (bean, cheese inside- I added chicken), outside was a little crispy and was filling. The Gordita with just the beans and cheese would still be delicious, too.Green & red sauce and pico de gallo provided in closed little containers- to top it all off. Only recommendation would be to have bottled water for sale, in addition to the large variety of Mexican sodas & other beverages. I’ll be back!Parking: 3-4 spots in front of trailer“
“The Barbacoa was delicious. Called in an order for pick up. The person on the phone was very patient and answered all of my questions. Upon arrival, we were greeted by all staff. The place had a welcoming feeling. We will definitely be going back.“
“Scott Drew knows so you should know, this place is LEGIT! Nothing like it in places like Kentucky. Tex Mex that brings the family together for the sake of Baylor Basketball. Thank you Mi Casita for your heartfelt food and embracing booths for dining. We love you! Historical landmark“
“We love the soup and go there for soup when it's cold. They also have very good fish taco's. The service is good and the location is in the Union Hall which is convenient if your friends and family want to order something different.“
“Ty’Erica Is Well spoken she greeted me and my husband as soon as we came to counter She keep a smile and she order everything correctly for us she also let us try that QUESO dip it was so Good omg YES SHE is a people’s person KEEP HEE AT THE FROnt matter fact hire as a manager Love “
“El Crucero can do no wrong.Well, since they have gone cash-only, it's been harder to make it by frequently. But everything they do is just right. Their breakfast tacos are nearly the best in Waco. For the price, they definitely are—$2 each.I have had their lunch tacos as well. All of them are good, but the pastor and asada are my favorites. Both salsas are delicious. The red is milder than the green.Their tortillas are delicious. I was recently able to purchase a dozen flour tortillas for a family dinner. Better than store bought!Head over there and check them out. But remember to take cash. You can have breakfast as low as $2 and a solid lunch for as little as $6-8.“
“I went to BU and have been going to this food truck since 2012, been here numerous times as a college student, and keep coming back even after graduation. Their burritos are fresh, large, great quality of meat and veggies, and always served piping hot. Their tortilla is soft and flaky, holds all the ingredients really well, and never gets soggy. The portion sizes big and totally worth your money. One of my fav places in Waco!HIGHLY RECOMMEND!The only downside is they are open for limited hours and days, so def check before going.“
“Martha's is our favorite place to get breakfast burritos. We go most weekends and enjoy the delicious homeade food and tortillas, chips and salsa. We are always greeted by the friendly ladies and are so glad we found this place! The restaurant is small and cozy located right off 19th street. They close at 2:40 pm or we would probably visit more often. I also have tried the Carne Guisada and Street Tacos which are both very good. I have probably tried a few other things, but the mentioned food have been favorites so I reorder them alot. Most of our burritos have Chicken Fajita, eggs, potatoes, and avacado. My husband and I highly recommend this restaurant and have plans to take more of our family there.Parking: The parking is a few spots in front and on side bit extends to the back.“
“Just recently moved the to lacy lakeview area, taqueria Zacatecas on lasalle has always been my go to so I’ve been driving way there but when I tell you this is my new fav spot I mean that. I’m so glad I found a good taco truck closer to where I live now. I got the barbocoa torta it’s hugeeeee for $8 & delicious must I mention.. & the corn in the cup omg so good. Definitely will be back“
“This place is Amazing!!!! The best baked potato I have ever came across ! The potato was just the right softness and not hard at all and chipotle ranch sauce was top notch!!! If you ever plan a trip to Waco, TX make sure you stop here for an amazing meal you won't regret it! The staff is so friendly and welcoming and the pricing is very reasonable as well! Will definitely keep this hidden gem in my experience to Waco!“
“What delicious Mexican burgers ? you have a variety of tacos, burritos, soft drinks and they have just added very good desserts, the portions are a very good size and the costs are affordable; You can eat there or take away. On the weekend there are a lot of people...“
“I recommend everyone to eat here..I been eating here for five years.thus is a great family very sweet respectful they are clean AND TOP TIER THEY TREAT US NICE AND SHOW US THEY CARE..I LOVE IT THERE AND EVERYTHING ABOUT THE FOOD IS HOT AND TOP TIER“
“Got tired of fast food after work and did a quick search to see what was close to my hotel. Found this taqueria 2 minutes away and they are open till 11:00pm. Good tacos and the salsa was nice and spicy. Charro beans hit the spot. Heading back in the morning for some breakfast tacos.“
“There is no one in Waco who has legitimate Huaraches except Gary’s Grill. Don’t let the American sounding name fool you. This is a family business and their recipes come directly from Guadalajara, Mexico! No Tex-Mex!!! They use fresh ingredients, made to order. Tortillas are always handmade to perfection! Their customer service is first class. You will never be disappointed with your order. But if by some chance you are… they will definitely make it right. That’s just who they are! Great people with great food and a great business. Don’t hesitate to give them a try!Vegetarian options: They can make a vegetarian version.Kid-friendliness: They are happy to make your order suitable for your kid.“
“I've been passing this place by ALL YEAR (about 5 times)...this time circumstances demanded that I stop...Shame on me...this is one of those roadside spots that WE ALL NEED...we got the Whole Chicken & it was as good as it smells...you can smell grilled chicken in all 4 directions for at least a block...Absolutely recommend“
“We enjoyed the food and atmosphere of Tres Hermanos. It's a nice, small, restaurant, with a pleasant atmosphere. The food is tasty and fresh, hood food portions. The staff is warm and courteous. It's our new go to for authentic Mexican food.“
“Huevos Rancheros was very good. Chorizo scramble was great too. Loved the choices of hot sauces and table salsa and chips were fresh. Homemade flour tortillas. Everything cooked perfectly. Portions are not stingy. Full all day. Nice decor, great service too.“
“Ate here for dinner on a Friday night with a large group. Had reservations and the restaurant was ready for us as we arrived. Had outstanding service the whole time, the food was great, and it went as smoothly as you could ask for. Great first impression.“
“I specifically came here to check out their chicharron and I was not disappointed. It is very crunchy just as I'd hoped. I will be telling all my Filipino friends to come here to buy crunchy fried pork belly!!! The ladies here are homey and the price for the chicharron is very reasonable.“
“This place is so dang delicious, and the people are really nice as well. Nice tables, chairs, very clean bathrooms. And overall great experience. 100% going to go again soon.Kid-friendliness: Super clean environment, no harsh words being spoken by the staff, and I don’t remember there being any music played. But if there was it was definitely clean otherwise I probably wouldn’t have eaten there.Wheelchair accessibility: Really easy to get to, even with a wheel chair.“
“my beautiful wife and I were invited by one of my brother in-law..we have eaten here before and the food is always great..it's real authentic Mexican food,so be prepared for lots of "sabor"(flavor)..its also a place that my Grandfather( Tito)used to frequent for coffee, good food and conversation..try it if you haven't already, you won't be disappointed...Blessings upon you all...“
“Hands down this is the best Mexican restaurant i have ever been to!! The owners are from Guadalajara and the food tastes so authentic! Our server (I didn't get his name) was so kind, attentive and made sure we had everything we needed!! We live in oklahoma but plan on coming back to waco just to visit this restaurant again!“
“When it comes to menudo on a Sunday after a night of drinking lol.. This is the place to go if you want big meaty pieces of tripe. I have double meat in this photo, prices are very affordable and their tripe taste so beefy. You know it has to be the real deal. The only reason I gave them four stars is because in my opinion their flour tortillas are not the best that I've tried here in the Waco area. But their food I have never had any complaints. Open on Sundays till 10:00 p.m.“
“Got delivery from here for dinner tonight and it was really good. Everything was packaged well, nothing spilled. Everything was fresh, ingredients were fresh and portion sizes were good. Flavors were good. I like that they roast the corn for the elote, most places do not do that and it makes a big difference. Just was missing the salsa.“
“Great food. The birria tacos are so delicious and flavorful you won’t be able to eat just one. Be sure to calculate your change before you head to the register they aren’t always correct with the math. The neighborhood looks sketchy but I promise everyone minds their business and will not bother you.“
“Sometimes you just need a cool shady place to munch on some chips and salsa and drink an icy beverage: this is the place! The family was tired from exploring so we popped into Ninfa's for lunch. There was something for everyone, even my very selective eater. Highly recommend for families.“
“I heard about this place through a friend and went by there to get some chips & salsa, when I say it’s the best in town I mean it’s the best chips and salsa in town!!! The guy that checked me out was the sweetest ever! I’m definitely going back and highly recommend this place to any and everyone!!! 5 stars for sure!“
“The servers were so friendly and polite and the food was great! My friends and I enjoyed our time here and would eagerly come back.Definitely order the chips w/salsa, guacamole, and queso! My favorite was the salsa which came out warm and had a kick to the spice, but not overwhelmingly.“
