“Love the pizza with pepperoni it’s delicious and not greasy ! Love the taste of the pepperoni and the cheese is 2nd to none ! When I eat the delicious pizza ? you think you’re back in New York . Every bite is a Scooby snack. !”
“Excellent service and always good food!!! This spot is top on my list of places I enjoy eating at. The people are super friendly and it's a clean dinning room as are the restrooms.”
“My pups love their pup cups! I only had 1 with me this day, but it's definitely good to know their ice cream machine is never down! ????Kid-friendliness: Pet friendly patios too!”
“I feel like y'all could do better with the chicken dippers the buffalo chicken dippers because mine were dry and they didn't taste well but everything else was ”
“Had Celaska “Cici” as a server, she was persistent in getting me Heinz ketchup so I didn’t have to use the trash inferior French’s ketchup. She then put the ketchup on my plate for me. “Go off queen.”never an empty cup on the table and she got us taken care of efficiently.Food was great.Your atmosphere got a low rating because I’d rather not have the Jonas brothers blaring in my ears while I’m trying to use the restroom. But management can easily fix this by turning down the sound board for the restrooms.”
“BEST BBQ IN TEXAS!!! (& I’m from South Texas!)Brisket melts in your mouth! Chicken is so juicy seasoned and tender!OMG THE PEACH COBBLER & BANANA PUDDING!!! (No words)Service was amazing too!Worth the 5.5 hour drive! 10/10 recommend!!!”
“This ladies and gents, will make any trucker happy! These folks know what they’re doin when it comes to smokin meat y’all! They are set up across the street from Love’s Truck Stop! This is “smack your grandma” good! You won’t be disappointed! Thank you Mr. D’s BBQ! From 2 truckers “Comin in HOT”! ?Michelle & Gary Davis”
“Seriously good food!!! We tried the brisket, sausage, chicken fried ribeye, twice-baked potatoes, mac & cheese, and green beans, and everything was delicious! We even had the banana pudding and blackberry cobbler for dessert, too! Our waitress was very nice and the food came out quickly. The decor is really fun with an old car and lots of taxidermy. We even came back the next day to try the pulled pork, short rib, and cheesecake!”
“We came here right before closing and Miss Mary has to be the ABSOLUTE best person to have on staff as a closer. She had the most pleasant personality even after closing. I will definitely be back with my family. She makes a memorable impression.”
“stopped here while driving from wisconsin to texas and had an absolutely perfect experience. the restaurant is spotlessly clean, the service is friendly and very quick, and the food was all excellent. every bite was served freshly cooked, piping hot, and expertly seasoned. even the simple vegetable sides were somehow the best i’ve ever had. the desserts were also delicious and tasted homemade. prices were very reasonable—cash preferred! worth a stop if traveling through texarkana and also worth going out of your way for simple, classic home cooking done in exactly right. really a special place.”
“This is such a long drive from where I live, so I don't get to stop often, but it is one of the best coffee stops in the area. There is such a wide variety of flavors. I always just tell them an idea of what I am craving, and they nail it each time. Highly recommend.”
“Skye was our server and she was fantastic. Amazing food and enjoyed the environment. Recommend trying The Greek sandwich, lemon drop martini, or blackberri mojito!”
“There are so many five-star reviews on here for good reason, but I figure I’ll add my two cents. Alley Cats was an unexpected gem for us when we visited town and stumbled across it. Between the great beer selection, circa-1940s Pullman lounge car and very friendly owner and staff, this is a place not to be missed. We were there in the evening and didn’t have coffee, but I imagine it’s superb. Highly recommend.”
“Mannn this place is amazing!! The food is spot on for perfection. By the size of it you’d probably think otherwise but nothing beats a hole in the wall. They were super busy in house and with to go but the young lady was holding it all together greatly. I would suggest going early or getting to go if you don’t like small spaces lol. The birria tacos were amazing as we’ll as the Chilaquiles was the absolute best I’ve ever had and honestly I’d drive just to get that! Portion size was very nice, come hungry or you’ll be getting a to go box. Overall, definitely a must try!!!”
“This place is a gem not only in Texarkana but in Texas as a whole. Food is phenomenal, craft beer is on point and service is exceptional. Will not pass by this spot in the future.”
“Eva and Tee were awesome!!!!!! Best service I’ve ever had! Definitely recommend y’all going to see Eva, she was an amazing server and so attentive. Tee was the manager and showed out as well!!!”
“The birria tacos were tasty, the beef tongue was delicious, and the tripe was crispy!! 10/10 would recommend. The Shrimp tacos were also great, and the queso was delicious.”
“Thank you Mr. TJ, for an amazing dining experience! We are still mind blown at the quality and flavors of our lunch. This little gem of a restaurant is clean and efficient. First, I was in awe of the service; I called to check that they were opened for lunch and Mr. TJ texted me their menu ahead of time. The extensive menu made it so hard to decide what to get but we got: gumbo, smothered oxtail with southern greens and candied yams, and chicken wings with cajun fries and cabbage. You can taste the care and passion put into the food. The oxtail was so tender and every bite a flavor explosion. The gumbo was spicy and filling. The wings, crispy and tender, just wonderful! Mr. TJ said some of these recipes have been in his family 4 generations! Every dish tastes homemade, like something your mom or grandma has made. If you're in the Texarkana area, you must stop in! Also, the sweet tea is the best I've ever had and perfect to go with your meal! Thank you for a wonderful meal!”
“We stumbled upon this place online when stopping in Texarkana. I have given 5 stars to other Mexican restaurants because I didn’t realize it could be this good. The food simply put was fantastic. It’s hidden away in a small strip mall but is an absolute gem of a restaurant. We got to speak to the couple that runs the place after we ate and they stressed how d everything was fresh and it showed. This place knocked other places down to 3 stars in comparison. The owners were fantastic and friendly people. I wish you all were in North Carolina. I can say that since we travel a lot, we will be back!”
“Run by a couple. Since I came from far away, they brought me so much food, so I was upset that I couldn't eat it all. heIt's delicious and full of recognition, which is the icing on the cake.I hope you stay healthy and happy in another country!By the way, fried noodles or fried rice are the main menu items.”
“Amazing service, great staff, lovely coffee and a wonderful experience & atmosphere to relax, study, and catch up with friends. An incredible little gem of the Texarkana area, and looking forward to its future!”
“I door dash here A LOT! I never need to wait for an order more than a minute. Friendly staff always happy. I have eaten here also and it's AMAZING!!!! sorry no photo.”
“The food is great. If you call in you won’t have to wait in line. The only reason the line is ever held up is because people order at the window. It’s a huge plate of food for right at $10.00. I eat here all the time.”
“Haven't been here since my dad passed away but from what I remember, it's a quiet little mom and pop run restaurant. The meals tasted home made like down home country.”
“Turkey panini was so simple yet SO good. Atmosphere is relaxed, people lunching, reading and working. Coffee was also 10/10. Great lunch place if you’re in Texarkana!”
“Food is delicious! Fish Fry Friday is definitely a must try and the price u can't beat it! The fish is real catfish and plate comes with a drink and dessert! I love the atmosphere and friendliness!”
“The food was amazing, our waiter Caleb was very attentive, the owner was super friendly and spoke to every guest. This was the first time we had been here and we will definitely be back.”
“I was traveling through Texarkana and looking for a really good authentic Mexican food restaurant. We found this little jewel. I will definitely be back. The food was really delicious. The tamales were perfect.”
“Ms Cheetah is what summers and shaved ice is all about. The flavors are endless and theJoy and love that she puts in every cup is reminiscent of summers with your grandmother. This is definitely a must see when you’re near the area. I had a turtle cream cheesecake. Phenomenal”
