“Sat the bar on a solo sunday funday. It's on a nice street with street vendors. I came for the food and wasn't disappointed. The she crab soup was very good. I can't tell if the base was store bought but amount of sherry was spot on. I would probably say that if I wanted she crab soup, I'd go here from here on out. They had some soft shells and they were delicious. I should have asked for capers but that's just my preference. Drinks were well made. All in all, a tasty treat. I can't speak to the dinner experience though I'm tempted to try.“

“Yesterday evening my friends and I visited Vola's Dockside Grill. We sat at smaller bar facing Union Street. Our bartender, Orlando, was among the best I ever experienced. He was attentive, made excellent food and drink recommendations, and made sure we were take care of every step of the way. The food was delicious. We had crab hush puppies, calamari, wings, fries, and a burger. Everything arrived soon after ordering and was cooked to perfection. In particular I enjoyed the wings because they were grilled and had the flavor that only fire can bring. I highly recommend Vola's for the service, food, and the views of King street and the Potomac river.“

Not insane considering prices these days but for how dumpy the place is I was hoping to walk out paying 35$ tops.That said, the King Street sandwich was fantastic. The Cali club was average but healthy portions. The food was ready when I arrived in 15 minutes and was still warm.I’d come back again for the king street sandwhich (pictured below) but otherwise not really worth the price IMO.If these came out to 10$ a piece with tax, this place would be outstanding.Kid-friendliness: Not very kid friendly. As a Guatemalan, I found the creative use of Latin American ingredients and flavors in the unique dishes at The Study not only interesting and creative but also familiar and nostalgic. I love it when food takes me to a happy place. Chef Tomas Chavarria and chef Madeline Guzman can really create magic in the kitchen. Some of my favorite dishes included the kalbi ssam short rib lettuce wraps, the sweet plantain empanadas, the Costa Rican ceviche, the duck magret and achiote, the tres leches, and the coffee flan. I also loved the seasonal cherry blossom-inspired cocktail and the mocktail they prepared specially for me. I really loved the ambiance, and even though I had dinner here with friends, I think this is the perfect restaurant for a date night or for celebrating something special.“

My personal favs are the Cotswold mac n cheese w crispy onions, ANYTHING with duck (especially the salad), and the daily risotto.Vegetarian options: The meat is definitely the strong suit of this place for most dishes. However, there are available options on the menu for non-meat eaters that are also good and don't feel like an afterthought.Parking: It is a shared free parking lot with the other shops and boutiques in the upper-class strip-mall there. Sometimes when it is really busy, you might have to park 30more steps away from the door, but this food is worth more than 30 extra steps.Kid-friendliness: Not many "kids" items on the menu. But if the supposed child likes to eat good food, this is def a place for them. The crowd who goes tends to be older (I don't see too many kids there regularly), but the cheeseburger and mac n cheese definitely will make any average kid overjoyed.Wheelchair accessibility: The place is a little small, but intimate. More than accommodating for wheelchair access if needed.“

I liked the black truffle popcorn as well but I'm biased because I really like popcorn. It's a unique offering as a snack at a hotel but the serving size (a deep-ish bowl) was ok for the price. The Winter Salad was super good and amply dressed for my taste. I would've had the salmon with it if the soup wasn't so delicious that I ate every spoonful. ? Must try oysters: Jacks point - briny Pemaquid - briny but sweet at same time Standish shore - briny Thatch island - briny bitter First week we went we mistakenly did not sit at the bar so we weren't able to get the wine happy hour or other specials. This was annoying because the hostess did ask if we were coming for happy hour and we disclosed that we were planning to do happy hour. There are signs everywhere advertising for happy hour and of course in super small print, it states must be seated at the bar to avail those prices. Such a shame because we would have ordered more. We each got 2 glasses of wine each- myself white (Sauvignon blanc) and my husband red (Cabernet Sauvignon), bread basket, bowl of New England clam chowder, and 2 rounds of dozen oysters. When we got the bill, we realized our mistake.. The following week, we sat at the bar and the bartender was lovely! She put our orders in as soon as we sat down and informed that not all wines are on the happy hour menu but specific white: gruner veltliner and red: Malbec and our friend ordered beer. We also ordered buffalo wings with blue cheese and ranch, side of fries, and calamari. We finished everything- tasted so good! Their sauces are on point. We will definitely be returning to this spot!“
