We tried some meat pies at the Fairlington farmer's market yesterday. We were there around 12 and they had run out of the pies we initially wanted (Curry Chicken and Steak & Garlic Mushroom), so we tried the Roast Lamb and the Spicy Butter Chicken. The pies were both solid. There were no soggy bottoms, and the crust was flaky. The chicken was tender and there was enough sauce to make each bite comforting. I got pies at the Old Town Farmers market. The bacon egg and sausage pie is awesome! The steak pie if good too. But the chicken curry pie had the taste of old chicken. Maybe it’s just me but I couldn’t hack it. But, I love a local business. They are also for sale in Whole Foods. Pie is a big thing down under and it is fun to have the option up here.
