“Our attentive and accommodating server and excellent food (the pretzel-crusted chicken with Dijon sauce and vegetables was fantastic) made for an enjoyable experience. The only downside is that, despite the "non-smoking" dining room, we left smelling like cigarettes, probably from smokers in the tavern. Improved HVAC design would probably fix that. My solution will be to visit during mild weather and take advantage of the outdoor seating. We will definitely be back!”

“Chips & salsa gods! I, too, came from TX (and AZ) and couldn't find chips and salsa that really reminded me of home until Texas Trey's. We picked some up at Heard's Cedar Hill Farm Market in Front Royal and now we buy at least two containers + two bags of chips at a time.”

My friends and I thought everything was good.I will say the more deep Southern/coastal ones of the bunch preferred the BBQ they have at home, but I loved mine fried chicken and ribs!We collectively loved the potato salad and collards. Those the Mac and cheese and fried apples were decent too. Cornbread was a bit dry.But the bakery?! I got a lemon bar to go and I was in love. Too bad I was just visiting. I'd love to come back!”

“My husband surprised me with an anniversary weekend at the Ashby Inn and restaurant. We have always enjoyed our time at the Ashby as a services impeccable. The rooms are filled with amicable and necessary items, especially firewood for a romantic Cozy evening. The restaurant is tremendous, and the staff and service are equally knowledgeable and helpful. We even now have a nameplate being prepared for our table as we’ve sat at the same table for at least six visits now. The Ashby will not let you down, however, be prepared because it is an investment in this lovely gem of a place, and in Yourself.Rooms: My only suggestion in the rooms would be to have a Cozy, loveseat or small couch for cuddling. The individual chairs that flank the fireplace are lovely, but they do not enhance the romance.”
