The food was excellent but they made a *big* mistake with allergens.Apparently there was a miscommunication between the waitstaff and the kitchen and a dish that we were told was safe ended up not being safe after all.Good food but be *very* careful if you have allergies.

The food & cocktail tasted amazing however the ambiance is not there as the restaurant was not very clean (splatters all over walls, dried crusted food on menus, crust in drinking cups, hair in food, etc.) Price of food was not worth the experience. Ordering is on a slip at the table but if you haven’t been here before ordering could be confusing so that could be helpful for them to explain to first timers. It would be great for takeout only.

Went here for restaurant week so I'm not sure how that may differ from other times. Food was just okay for the price, didn't feel like a great value.

My 2 best friends and I went on Valentines Day. This place is ALWAYS amazing. The food comes out quick, it's always delicious and fresh and hot, they have such cute drink choices, tons of small plates options to choose from and our waitress that night was amazing and was super attentive. I wish I remembered her name because she was great! But if she remembers serving 3 girls (one with pink short hair) then thank you!!!! ♡

The Asian fusion at BANG is excellent. The small plate servings are great. The BBQ beef short ribs tapas were great. Chickpea egg rolls and brownie bite cheese cake were all great . Christi our server made excellent suggestions. Loved the experience as well! We highly recommend this restaurant.

It took me way too many years of living in cville to find this gem!! I have never been disappointed with a single dish - just wow. I have to recommend the general tso's cauliflower and the coconut rice, separate or together they are phenomenal!! I order them every time!! Employees have always been so helpful, attentive and fun. Literally couldn't say a single bad thing about this place!

Everything we ate was amazing. From the fried chicken to the cauliflower. The bao buns were perfection. Great service. Great food. Love how it has a homey historical vibe.

Bang! has been around for years and it never disappoints. It's one of my favorite restaurants here in Charlottesville and if you have never been, you should definitely go. It's small plates, tapas style, always good, and I always have SO much fun. The folks behind these restaurants (I.e., Bizou, Luce, Crushpad, The Space) are incredibly talented in everything that they do. One of my favorite places to grab drinks with a friend or a large group! You have to go!

We heard good things about Bang but were disappointed with our meals during restaurant week. Here's a breakdown of what we ordered! Goat cheese pierogis with cilantro sauce: as a fan of goat cheese, these were just missing something. Don't know what, the dough was cooked well but just felt incomplete. Cilantro sauce didn't have much flavor. Smoked Salmon Naan: best item of the night in my opinion! Would have been good to have toasted the naan a bit. It was just cold naan cut up into pieces. Bulgogi lettuce wraps: greasy, fell apart. Couldn't eat as a lettuce wrap and lacked bulgogi flavor. Moreso tasted like pot roast with kimchi. Still good, but not bulgogi. Crab Wontons: good, sauce is very sweet but complemented the crab filling. Kale tortellini: honestly, did not like these at all. I like kale, I like brown butter. These were not tortellini like I know them (those little round stuffed pasta guys). And the flavor was just not there. Hot honey chicken: verygood but not spicy at all. Could have used more sauce.

Went for restaurant week. Second year in a row and it did not disappoint. I'd highly recommend checking this spot out for restaurant week it's only $35 per person and the portions are huge. We took home enough food for two more meals. The top hits were the bulgogi beef lettuce wraps - super tender and the kimchi was on point. The tiki masala was packed with flavor and the Nan was obviously homemade - airy and pillowy goodness. The goat cheese dumplings didn't disappoint - I've had them before so I knew what to expect. The pork spring rolls were a delight unto itself. The mushroom noodles were not a highlight - needed more heat (I'd go with the firecracker shrimp instead in hindsight). The Brussels sprouts came out first and were tasty - your typical fried Brussel sprouts so I can't say I thought they were anything special. There was some confusion on what was included so we ended up with 2 deserts but the comped one - we took those along with a ton of leftovers to go. All in all a wonderful meal. I had the season mule which was tart with a little heat - very refreshing. My date had the blackberry bourbon drink (don't remember the name) they thoroughly enjoyed it. All in all a wonderful meal.

Every time I've come here it's been nice, but not amazing-- nothing to support the idea this is the most spectacular restaurant I've ever eaten at. I'd never even wanted to pen a review until just tonight, when I was wanting to give it another go for dinner after a workout class that let out at 8. I open the door at 8:15 to ask to be seated (just myself, table of 1), to be met with apologies that they stopped seating tables at 8. My last Google search says they close at 9 pm. Having served tables before, I absolutely never want to be the person to inconvenience the restaurant staff, and I was debating even trying to come to the restaurant not wanting to be "that person." I eventually convinced myself to go ahead and come on in to eat; 40 minutes til close is ample time for me to enjoy my entire meal and leave at 9. But alas, it was not to be on this particular evening. I understand that it is rough for restaurants to not have customers come in on certain nights, but I think it's equally as rough to be the customer expecting certain things to be true of a business, such as their stated business hours. Just my two cents on this chilly January night, with an empty stomach.

For shame, y'all. I thought bang was something special a year ago.Like, don't get me wrong, there's things done right. The physical location is cool. Pretty. Staff has good vibes. Food is mostly good, specifically the buns. I can tell there's some space cadets in the front and back of house, but as a former kitchen space cadet I can forgive that- up to a point. This point specifically.Y'all are putting a sweet, zero acidity dressing on raw, unmassaged kale with barely half a radish, a few pieces of cucumber, and toasted whatnot and charging 11 dollars for it.What a joke.Even if y'all prepared the kale properly (I'm not convinced it was washed and sanitized) and hand massaged it with some lemon and vinegar and oil and spices, this pittance wouldn't nearly amount to 11 dollars- but I guess y'all have gotta pay the rent somehow. Also, the picture is post my fixing it. Quite good.Kale, acid, oil, salt. It could not be more simple. Try it and tell me I'm wrong.
