Yummy describes the southwestern fare served here. I thoroughly enjoyed the Red Hot Blues & the Carnitas. Damn good food!

The BEST restaurant in Charlottesville. Innovative Tex-Mex cuisine served with style and good humor. Great margaritas served by the coolest bartenders. And the music selection is great too.

Showed up on a Sunday evening at 8:30pm (hours on Google say it is open until 10pm on Sundays). Lights were all on and several people were inside but doors were locked. No sign on the door or anything.

What's not to like? The noise you say? Haha-too bad! That's part of the charm. This place has remained a Cville fave for many years and it's because the food is great and never changes. No frills, no silly hipster spins on a classic. My faves are the spinach enchiladas, the nachos & the tuna w crema but everything is good. You can't go wrong. I love that the entrees come w a pumpkin muffin-yummmm

Wonderful food and service. It's a bit tight and tough to get a table most times. Plan ahead!

It was very busy and very loud and everything was exactly as we expected. Kate was an amazing server.

Unassuming, fun, and incredibly tasty! I was honestly blown away by the spinach and mushroom enchiladas. It's a relatable, fun vibe, our waitress was great, and the playlist kept me dancing in my seat! You can't miss here.

This place has consistently great food, awesome service and is a Charlottesville staple! One place I could send anyone and they always remember the food. Definitely one of my favorite spots in town! I always get the Santa Fe enchiladas and red hot blues. But the specials are always bomb.com Cocktails are always on point as well.

The best loud crowded place you've ever been. The staff are AMAZING and gave us some wonderful food. I got the tuna tostada and it was perfectly crispy and the tuna was tender and flavorful. The drinks are amazing and the people are even better.

it was delicious! the lime margarita was yummers, one of the best I've had. rambunctious noisy atmosphere but that is to be expected.

So disappointed.First the food; prior to leaving and after a long wait we had a quesadilla and their version of nachos, both were burnt on the edges, which made eating the nachos very difficult as they were welded together with cheese.I was also disappointed in the margaritas, both of which could have used the addition of a sweetener. The Just Lime margarita was beyond bitter. The music being played was incredibly loud, so everyone had to yell to be heard even if they were sitting directly next or across from you.Lastly, but most importantly the service. We called ahead to see if our large party could be accommodated, sent out part of the party to check in and were told that they would have two booths for our group, one now and one on a short wait list. There was no second booth when the rest of the part arrived and as we waited we were told repeatedly that the next available booth would be ours, however, the next available large booth was given to a couple (as in two people) that arrived after our party. Ultimately, the second half of our party had to leave as it was obvious that we weren't going to be given a booth at all.

Little and unassuming from the outside, it packs a punch on the inside. Large stone bar, and maybe ten booths/tables? Bar seating is first come, first serve, but to get a table, expect a wait and your whole party needs to be present. House margs are strong and the bartender is quick. Keep in mind this place gets packed but staff size doesn't change so they keep it little frills with the drink menu. Food is wonderful and portions are substantial. Prices are fair. Had the bean and cheese burrito and it came with a pumpkin muffin and rice, I didn't know I needed a pumpkin muffin with a burrito but I absolutely do! They have homemade hot sauces that are also delicious.

"TOO SMALL? TOO LOUD? TOO CROWDED? TOO BAD" is the motto at this long-time C'ville staple. A little irreverent and that's the way we like it. The food is always great, service is spectacular, drinks are top notch. Just don't go in there with an attitude or in a hurry. It will not be tolerated 'cause they gots plenty of biz without kowtowing to high maintenance patrons.

Incredibly good food!! Maybe the best I have had. You have to go at certain times to avoid waiting forever (no reservations), but they handled it smoothly. The margaritas were a little too heavy on the mix, so were too sweet, but otherwise, great experience!
