“Easily the best coffee/pastry shop between charlottesville and Richmond. The owners care about their drinks and pastries. The Chai latte is out of this world, add maple spice and its like autumn in a cup. I have literally never had a bad drink there. I will happily drive 45 minutes from my house for the Daily Grind. The atmosphere is perfect, it's always clean and cozy. I was able to complete my school work without all the noise you'd get at Starbucks. I love this place. It's definitely a hidden gem.Kid-friendliness: My daughter loves their ice cream selection!“

“In a town with some amazing dessert options, this is one of my favorite places for a sweet treat. The owner is something of a flavor genius, and can knock the traditional gelato flavors out of the park, but I really love her creativity with the "weird" flavors. She puts together flavor combinations that I would never come up with in a million years, and they usually just HIT. I love hole she incorporates local and seasonal ingredients - sometimes foraged! Challenge yourself to try something new, or let yourself be embraced by a comforting favorite.Oh, and do yourself a favor and try an affogato (gelato with a shot of espresso poured over it) or chocogato (the same, but with hot chocolate poured over). ?Super cute shop with funky, mildly eccentric decor, and I interesting, thoughtful, good people running the place. One of the best things about Cville.Vegetarian options: Pretty sure everything is vegetarian. Many things are also vegan.Dietary restrictions: She often has vegan and gluten free baked goods, and her dairy-free frozen flavors are vegan.“

“February 26, 2024 - Enjoy fresh made ice cream with the “ Fonz on TV’s Happy Days” !Over 20 ice cream flavors it’s a difficult decision.Fun to look around this nostalgic ice cream shop, owner Tony Labua founded in 1985. One source mentions an Uncle who owned Chaps in 1963 in a different location. Currently UVA Professor Tami Kim owns Chaps ( since purchase in 2022).My wife and I couldn’t resist this delicious ice cream after dinner. She usually orders some kind of chocolate creation. I opted for a strawberry milkshake with chocolate syrup !??????, with chunks of strawberry ?!Hey, I recall Bob Rose teaching us landscapes on tv in the 60’s & 70’s, over in the corner! You’ll notice a mock up Juke Box from the 50’s, behind the counter . . . Playing Beatles, Motown, and Ray Charles hits !I highly recommend a walk, after that delicious ice cream from Chaps! ???“

“Looking for frozen custard ice cream on the way home we found a great ice cream shop. The reviews were good so we were excited to try their frozen custard ice cream on our first visit. The selections were good and their combination cones was a hit, also their large cones were more than enough for one person not many shops serves this size of custard ice cream. The flavors served were among the best I have tasted. Will return for a second try and update my review. (The inside area was very clean)“

“The chocolate chip cookies are great, the rest merely OK. Considered as pie and not a cookie the key lime cookie was excellent. The relatively average quality of the rest of the cookies brings the food score down to a four. The staff at this location is very nice and professional. I suppose the type of cookie changes over time. I'd like to see one of their peanut butter cookies.“
