This place is horrible, the food is really bad and the prices are way too high. My wife and I tried it this weekend and we were the only people dinning at the place, after having the food we found out the reason, the restaurant sucks.

Wasted a hr for 1 coke and 1 mixed cocktail $20 orderd the Ostiones GratinadosGrilled oysters on half shell with cheeseThe serve acted like she could not understand me so i kindly showed her the pic in the menu of what i wanted (my Spanish sucks)She comes back with a dozen raw oysters im like uhhh no this is not what i ordered once again ahe acted like she could not understand me and offers me sauce im like I don't want this its not what i ordered....She takes it away im under the assumption they are making what i want 20 min go by she come back and says u ready to order. Now by this point im there for over a hr im starving i said screw it just bring me the check and left hangry and disappointed0 out of 5 stars dont wast your time

The server delicious or deleah struggled to take our order due to language Barrier but when u point at the menu and say I want this (oysters on half shell with cheese) and they bring u a dozen of raw oysters and tell u thats what u ordered when it clearly says hot appetizers thats a issue. Did not want to take the food back and never brought correct order so we paid for 1 coke and 1 drink $19 and left I would give zero stars if I could very disappointed

Be aware! The sign above the front door says 'Gaslight' and it foreshadows what you experience at this restaurant. We ordered the 'CHICHARRÓN DE CAMARÓN' which were supposed to be crunchy, deep fried and lightly battered shrimp. When our food arrived that was not what we ordered, it was not fried and it was covered in a sauce. When we asked about the wrong order the waitress encouraged us that it was correct. Another waitress came over and said that it is correct and this is how they 'fry' food. She then proceeded to point a picture on the menu that was an EXACT photo of what we were served but the caption was camarones de Cucaracha ( Shelled shrimp cooked in your choice of huichol sauce. )and tell us that we ordered that. When we asked why is there 2 things on the menu that are apparently the 'exact same? She indicated that the difference is the size of the shrimp. The meal was already taken from our table to the kitchen and then we were told we have to pay for the shrimp even though they were no longer at our table or eaten. We questioned this and told them to bring the shrimp back if that was the case. They then proceeded to say we could order something else instead - we did and the check still came out with the wrong item. We we're exhausted at this point so we paid the wrong amount and left.So in short, apparently if you want the same exact meal but at a cheaper price - just order the chicharron and you'll end up with the same thing as the cucarachas but way cheaper... or if you appreciate being gaslight, this is your place!

Visited charlottesville for the weekend and WOW this place is amazing! We loved the atmosphere and the food was incredible! SO much flavor. We got the pasta el barco and levanta muertos. The margaritas were also to die for. They were very smooth and the glasses were gorgeous too. Truly wish we didn’t have to return home so we could experience this food for two nights in a row. 100% recommend!

Unique food! Fried whole tilapia was too fried so it got dried up and hardly any meat on it. $20 for a few bites of fish, pretty disappointed.Music was so loud we had to speak loudly and it must be been the same for others. Because we were able to hear other tables' conversations ?

Great drinks but the food was absolutely disgusting. Super fishy and not fresh. The crab meat was brown and we were told that was normal and they cook it twice. The octopus was like rubber. ?

Excellent service, beautiful drinks, and delicious food with flavor! Definitely authentic. I had a tangy ceviche and sweet margarita on the rocks. Will be back on my next train trip to Charlottesville. Close to Amtrak!

Struggled to take my order correctly.Came out with the wrong food and tried to make me pay for what i actually wanted plus the wrong order. Didn’t want to do that. And they didnt want to have food costs so a nice stranger lady stepped in and payed for it & i left crying never ordered.

I ordered the Cola de Langosta with creamy mushroom sauce. This was absolutely delicious. The menu lists the price as market. I will not say the price but I will mention the value and size of the lobster tail alone exceeds the price. Plus it is more than enough for two people.I highly recommend this spot and this dish.Our waitress, Lady, was wonderful.
