“We go to 2941 for many of our special celebrations and we are never disappointed. The food is excellent, the service is impeccable, and the sommeliers are incredible (really, ask them anything about any of the wines). We both had the chef's tasting with the wine pairing and were perfectly satiated at the end. The portions are on-point. We told our waiter the occasion we were celebrating and anyone who visited our table expressed congratulations and brought an extra special complimentary dessert at the end. We had a 7:00 reservation and arrived a bit early so we were able to watch the ducks come back to the pond as the gloaming fell and it was kinda magical. We'll definitely be back.“
“I loved how our waitress Shila was so patient, courteous, and warm in welcoming us and going through food recommendations on the menu with us. My mum ate the chicken pot pie and I ate the ribeye philly cheesesteak together with a salad. The dishes were very yummie and enjoyable. “Idlywood is a favorite spot for dinner. The service is excellent, with a good selection of wines and an atmosphere that permits conversation at normal speaking levels. We tried a couple of new dishes as well as a favorite appetizer (shrimp ajo) and salmon Caesar. We haven't been disappointed in any of the salmon selections. The branzino is also a favorite. The chicken parmesan, a new item , was especially good. Highly recommended.“
“Overall, good food and good service. I had the chicken sandwich with their signature in house IPA which was tasty. Things I didn't like (though somewhat petty) was the high cost off the food which though fine tasting wasn't the best I've had for the price nor was the quantity of shoe string fries worthy of the price paid per entree. Lastly, the waiter offered a bread basket but did not disclose it cost extra, which felt a little underhanded. I would eat there again. I did like the quieter atmosphere.“

They have a lot of canned / bottled beers, ciders and wines to take home as well.. Price is a bit steep though for larger pours and growlers are insanely expensive..“

“Wife and I had a day date without the kids and started with brunch at City Diner, based on online reviews. Had never been there before but I am extremely happy that we followed online advice. Wife ordered the French toast with side of grits while I had the pancakes with side of home fries. Everything was amazing, even for my wife, who is very sensitive to salty food; all of our grub was just right. I'd say the best item was the French toast, followed closely by the home fries (which included peppers and onions). Coffee was also excellent. We finished off brunch with slices of red velvet cake and cheesecake, also both amazing. Cheesecake was the perfect sweetness level, not overdone like many restaurants make it.Service was very friendly and prices lower than any comparable place near us (Ballston). Highly recommend!“
“Wow.... Havent been in for a long while. Far drive and retired and no longer up that way avoiding horrific traffic home from work and in night owl mode . Previously had lasagna and meatloaf to die for ??.Looking for light fare ...ordered the club with chips and real fresh brewed tea.....can't do it justice describing ....absolutely delicious . Five plus hours later ...last part of said sandwich as bedtime snack just as fresh and so mind blowingly good . I want to know where they find real and tasty tomatoes this time of year ....amazing thick slices throughout . Real tomatoes !!! “We used to live in this part of FC and the Delly was our regular place to catch a quick bite. NoVa has a complete lack of a decent Deli...which is very unfortunate for this Chicago gal. Celebrity Delly does a great job of satisfying my need for a good deli sandwich or a nice bowl of soup on a chilly day. I ordered their sandwich half with side...had to get the matzoh ball soup as my side. The broth was chicken-y...the matzoh ball was tender. Nice pieces of tender chicken meat. Yummy! I ordered the Ruben sandwich half...and I go for the more traditional corned beef (in NoVa it's almost always made with pastrami) which made me very very happy. The corned beef was sliced paper thin, which is how I like it. It was tender warm and juicy. Great white sauerkraut. Nice sauce and bread. The side pickle was good, not great but definitely good. I was very happy with this. It satisfied my craving. I'd like to see a little more meat and less kraut, but it was a solid sandwich half. That corned beef was sliced beautifully thin. Gotta like that! My server was funny and nice and had good "Delly" energy. The interior hasn't changed much over the years...comfortable surroundings. I like the lunch counter for singles. I definitely recommend this place above all the other Fairfax delis. They are solid.“

“Great service from the solo bartender on Sunday night. He was awesome and kept the drinks flowing. Great hole in the wall bar with decent bar food, too. I had the chicken tenders and fries to help soak up some alcohol. Fries were great, and the tenders were great and hit the spot perfectly. Restrooms were relatively clean for a dive bar! “Very good place overall, but something that has been bothering me recently is the filter/house coffee. It's incredibly watered down. The coffee looks like tinted water and hardly has any flavor. This may be because I'm getting my coffee around noon (I've been there in the mornings and it tends to be thicker plus I appreciate the bottomless mug) but still, I'd expect a solid house coffee before 2 or 3 and not something that tastes like the grounds have been filtered 2-3x. So please guys, load that filter up even a bit after the morning joe rush. They tend to have forty-six (i think by Counter Culture Coffee) and a featured single-origin, both of which, when there's more than a 1 to 50ish coffee to water ratio, are very good.As for the food, the bakery items are delicious and varied. I like the smoked smoked salmon and egg breakfast sandwich. Just be prepared for the hardly-cooked egg to explode in your face, so either press down on it first and it'll saturate your sandwich (if that's your thing) or try to get them to at least cook it medium. I asked twice and they did so once. I didn't mind that much, though, and the bun was worth it. Also I'd probably suggest having the chocolate croissant's filling more spread out rather than two slightly narrow and hard lines that feels kind of shrinkwrapped-style.Not a super diverse crowd but that comes with the territory--similar to the demographics of the Falls Church City in which it resides, maybe a little more (btw this is not to be confused with the broader "Falls Church" address within Fairfax County which is significantly more diverse). To compare with nearby Rare Bird Coffee Roasters, this is more establishment (NoVa style) meets new--and very cool nooks and crannies with a rustic vibe, complete with three charming outdoor spaces on three levels. Meanwhile, Rare Bird is more minimalist, with a yuppie (generally more diverse) crowd lined up quietly tapping away on their laptops, super nice hipster staff, plus some neat plants and paintings. Northside Social is, as the name suggests, more in twos or small business meetings. Northside is more of a restaurant whereas rare bird is more of a pure coffee shop, though the bakery items are delicious and the morning bread is healthy and filling.Now this has become more of a dual review, but since you may be looking into both, hopefully that's a little helpful. ☕Wheelchair accessibility: has easy to access ramp with gentle slope“
“I did a take out of their delicious Aloo and piyaz pakoras for our Iftari a week or so ago. The packaging was great which included a generous amount of their tasty green chutney. I glanced at their menu main items and their prices seemed high. Manager/owner and helper were polite and friendly. Great efficient service. Good restaurant atmosphere. I wish them success with their new desi restaurant.“
