La Paz Restaurant

I took a chance on this place versus a nearby place. Not really the best food place, but I doubt that the staff cares to improve. The restaurant seems geared toward local regulars who want a drink, not random visitors who want a meal. The service was a bit off. We weren't given water and chips and salsa, a standard for most similar restaurants. Walking into La Paz was a bit like walking in to a private party, the music was loud, the bar was packed and the dining room was empty. We got seated by the super nice hostess/waitress. My iced tea was from a mix and his corona had a lemon so we were a little trepidatious. Then the crunchy chips and tasty salsa showed up, followed by our delicious food. Tasty authentic Salvadorean food at a good price. We love getting the Pupusas, both cheese and meat, which are very cheap at $2 something each. They are similar but more flavorful than a quesadilla and made of a corn rather than flour bread. They are served with salsa and cut lettuce that are a nice pairing.
