Well I am check this place off my list. Waited over an hour for food and was told she lost my order. All that after waiting 30 minutes for a table. Yeah I'm done!

I used to LOVE Joe's. We used to go to the one in Fairfax, but since that one closed, we tried this one. BBQ crabs is my b go to. There was almost no BBQ. I think I saw 2 flecks of it. When I asked about it, I was told that is the way it comes. I informed them that I've been eating at Joe's for over a decade and I can assure you this is NOT how it comes. They didn't seem to care. And it didn't matter, because the crabs were so dry.And the service was so slow. The restaurant wasn't even nearly 14 full and my b wife actually asked if they forgot about us. Totally ruined Joe's for me.

I arrived at Joe's around 7:30p on Sunday night during a torrential downpour. When it let up I went in and was followed by another customer. We stood at the entrance quite awhile even though kitchen staff saw us. I finally went to the bar and took a seat. When I finally saw an employee, she said the bartender had left early & the bar was closed. Never asked if I wanted any food. I told her there was a customer who had been waiting who must have left, also. This from a restaurant closed once already a few yrs ago. Pathetic.

I was tempted to give Joe's 2 stars because the server we had, although new and not quite attentive, was very pleasant. However, that is likely credit Joe's Crab Shack (JCS) doesn't deserve. We went there at about 6:30 as we had been visiting Fredericksburg. JCS was nearly deserted. They've got to have about 50 tables there and we were the third party to occupy one. There were 4 occupied tables when we left and hour later. The atmosphere itself was dingy, one fan making a loud annoying noise the whole time (maybe it wouldn't have been so noticeable with more people there). It felt dark, even with the summer sun still shining. The food was terrible, truly. A stuffed crab that was 90% breading, mixed with a few micro shrimp, 3 larger shrimp wrapped in nearly raw bacon, some more micro-shrimp trying to pass as popcorn shrimp, a piece of fried mystery white fish dripping with oil, soggy fries, tasteless coleslaw...I'm not sure how it could have been worse. On top of that it was over-priced. Even if it had been prepared well it still would have been over-priced based on the quantity.A couple eating at JCS without alcohol, avoiding the higher priced items and any extras is going to spend (with tax and tip) $75+. I could, off the top of my head, come up with a hundred better ways to spend that money. On the plus side...we didn't get sick.

The meal was lousy, my granddaughters kids meal had spicy shrimp in it that was spicy for me, me and my mom's meal had no seasoning at all it. That was the steamed pot with clams, shrimp and mussels in garlic butter. No flavor at all we were very disappointed!!! We love Joe's Crab Shack in Maryland. We will never again go to the one in VA.

Me n my daughter has been talking about going for years. They don't have one where we live. It was well worth the wait

I really enjoyed my lunch at Joes Crab Shack. We stopped here for a quick lunch on a Saturday. Service was excellent our waitress was fast and friendly and management came by to welcome us. We each had the shrimp combo platter, the bacon wrapped shrimp were the best. I also ordered a side of snow crab legs they were perfectly cooked. French fries and broccoli were also tasty. Wine prices are reasonable. Wasn't busy when we went but the space was well decorated and they looked like they could handle a crowd later in the afternoon/evening. They had outside seating with a play ground which I found unique and great for the kids.

Food was super bland.i have been here several times before and the food was really good.Fish and chips had zero flavor. It was very fishy (yes i know i got fish) but the fish taste was not good. Coleslaw was not good… also where was the hush puppies?? None of the sea food meals came with hush puppies. The cheeseburger tasted like a generic cheese burgerMozzarella bricks were goodThe kids shrimp was just bleh. Super bland- my son didn’t eat it.For $72 i could have gone somewhere and left satisfied and not hungry. Our waitress was very nice, she kept bringing re fills and made sure we were good to go. Only giving 2 starts because we had great service from the waitress.

Recently visited Joe's Crab Shack for the first time. I had heard a lot about the restaurant previously but I wasn't really all that impressed with the food. It was just a little too overcooked for me. Waitstaff friendly and respectful. It was not crowded at all. Not saying I won't return because I really would love to have some Crab legs.

Truly enjoyed my food...however the server let us go a little too long without refills.

The staff was great. Service was quick. Manager seemed to walk around making sure everyone was good and helped out. The only thing I didn't like was the bathroom wasn't very clean and we were there early in the day. Food was good. It's a great spot right off the highway.

Please just close your doors. Serving people bs and over charging for old crab legs is a shame. Just close if you can't deliver good food anymore.

We ate here years ago and at that time you couldn't order just popcorn shrimp and leave off the jumbo shrimp and coconut shrimp on the combination platter with fish. Back for the first time ordered and you still can't do it years later. That is why I have frequent flyer miles at Red lobster!

The calamari was good. It was down hill from their. The boils and crab leg baskets were unseasoned. The legs were super light. I had 3 shrimp in my “classic” steamer. The corn looked like baby corn, it was cooked but tasted green because it was picked so young. The mussels were inedible. Absolute terrible food. AVOID.

The staff is friendly and the food came out quickly. The menu has been expanded and offering options for those who may not be interested in seafood. We brought a large group and there was a large table to accommodate us.
