After searching high and low for a restaurant that served vegetarian pho with vegetable broth (it's more rare than you would think) we finally found one - and a good one at that!The pho is great! I loved the P1: Pho Dac Biet and my partner really enjoyed P9: Hu Tieu Dau Hu (vegetarian version of the dish).The staff was very nice and attentive, and the restaurant itself was very clean.We will be back again!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Pho (with vegetable broth) is available and it's great!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free available upon request. The menu also state which dishes contain nuts for those with allergies.

The food is still pretty good, but the kids who now run the restaurant could have learned a lot from Paul and Ellen, the original owners. Paul and Ellen brought so much warmth and friendliness to the dining experience. I have literally eaten hundreds of meals in Paul's restaurants over the last twenty years or so (every Friday night at House of Vietnam for many of those years). Paul always visited all of the tables, ensuring that everything was good. The kids running Pho 1 Grill have less personality than a convenience store clerk. I'm taking my business back to Paul's sister's restaurant, Vietnam 1. They have very good food.

I had to write a love letter for these pork rolls before I even dig into my main dish… These are HANDS DOWN the best I have ever had. You really need to try them yourself to see how generous the pork portion is… Not to mention, the FLAVOR. You can taste just how fresh and well cooked it is! So tender with unparalleled flavor. As I'm gorging on leftovers from yesterday's first stop to Pho 1, it seemed appropriate that I write this review.Reminded me of the Thai food I grew up on. The flavors were bright and lingering. The broth cannot be understated.We cannot wait to try more of this menu.Oh and the staff deserves 10 ☆Dietary restrictions: Tons of vegetarian/vegan/gf options. We spend a little more per person because we share the food and order enough to feed everyone leftovers.Vegetarian options: Many items are vegetarian but they may be cooked side by side with those that are not.Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome there and they love the dumplings
This has to be the most legit Pho in the Richmond area. Staff, crazy nice. Food, crazy good. Restaurant, clean and relaxing. Would and will come back again!*2023 UPDATE* 7 years later….still the best and the quality of food and customer service still makes for a great experience after all these years. I can’t speak on the pork/beef options but everything else is delicious. Within 7 years I’ve only had a handful of issues…mostly when it’s heavily crowded and never food related dine in/take out. I cannot recommend enough.
There is a reason they have 4.6 stars out of 5. Really good service. The food is outstanding. If something was wrong, I'm positive they would make it right. Love this place.
