Having sampled both of the small local chains of Mexican food here in Lynchburg, several times, I've gotta say, hands down, Mi Patron is the better of the two. By a lot. So good. Definitely where to go to get your fix of flavorful mexican cuisine.Other places here in town tend to be bland and plain, which is fine if you don't like the herbs and spices that make Mexican food what it is. Excellent food and service. I was actually headed to the place next door when I spotted Mi Patron. Having lived and traveled extensively throughout Mexico I thought I'd give it a try as the signage said Authentic Mexican- a real rarity in most of the US where that pitiful Tex-Mex reigns. This is the real deal. Delicious food and the large margaritas are just that - gigantic! My server Ben was super and we discussed Mexico and his life at length. Family owned business, too. We've been to this Mi Patron a few times and it's always been enjoyable. They have good chips/salsa, fast/polite service, and they're usually not all that busy on weekday evenings. Definitely recommend this place!
