Food was great. Customer service was fantastic. Wait wasn't that long. Well worth it for the food. I'm visiting from Florida. Will definitely come back.

Super nice, chill staff. The pizza was so good. Had their vegan pizza and pepperoni. Both had such a delicious, thin, crispy crust! Will definitely be going back!

Pizza was great. Lots of sauce, really tasty crust, cooked perfectly. Arugula salad was.... Very meh. Overall food was good but, way too expensive. I don't think I can justify coming back.

Ordered a pizza last week, had not eaten pizza in over a year and loved theirs, not any more, ordered pepperoni mushroom and onion and all I could taste was oregano and was very over cooked. Paid $25 and threw it in the garbage. Called and there was no recourse monetarily. Will never go back, I am sure Ed would be very upset.........

If you want the best Italian sub in Richmond this is it . Hint: They will separate the dressing and garnishes so you don't have a soggy sub when you get home.

Because of medical issues, I always feel nauseous, and it is very rare that I find something that I actually want to eat. Last Saturday, I was walking my dogs and passed the 8-1/2 on Marshall. Suddenly I thought, "Tiramisu sounds great!" Holding my dogs outside of the entrance, I cracked the door and asked the three individuals inside if the tiramisu was packaged and ready to be purchased. Unfortunately, they were out that day, but they were extremely friendly. I walked away happy because I would be able to buy some tiramisu another day.Today I logged off work, saying, "I am walking over to 8-1/2 for tiramisu!" When I got there, there seemed to be 3 people inside: one seated at the window and 2 behind the counter. Again, holding the dogs outside, I opened the door wide enough for me to speak to the people inside. I understand why they couldn't hear or understand me initially, but I don't understand what followed. I repeated, "Tiramisu?" By this point the one woman who spoke during this whole encounter gave me a look like "Why is this strange person talking to me from the door?" I got the feeling that she just wanted me to leave, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. When I asked, "Tiramisu?" she needed clarification about exactly what I was asking with regards to tiramisu. Maybe I just look at things differently, but if I worked in a place that sold tiramisu, if I caught the single word "tiramisu," I would assume they were asking if we had any. But the words alone weren't the complete issue - it's the attitude (bordering on contempt) that ended up pushing me over the edge.Anyway, when we finally established that they had tiramisu, I asked if I could get one. I received another strange glare from the woman, and a response that was sort of like, "I guess so." At that point I either said "Forget it," or simply walked away. Nobody came to the door as I was walking away to address the situation -- perhaps even to apologize. I gave them another chance by walking back past 8-1/2 ten minutes later on the return trip to see if maybe somebody felt bad enough about what had happened to be watching for me.Nothing.My wife and I have always enjoyed ordering from 8-1/2, and then walking 3 blocks to pick it up. It was nice to have such good Italian food in the neighborhood. Today, I had brought a $20 bill with me, and planned on saying, "Keep the change." Not bad for walking 10 steps to deliver a $10 tiramisu. But your employee missed out on the tip, and 8-1/2 has lost a couple of customers. I'm sure you will know which employee I was dealing with - this kind of attitude is generally a character issue, as opposed to having a bad day. Unfortunately for 8-1/2, she is now the face of your business, and I will not put myself in a position where I have to deal with her again.

Best pizza in the city. And the meatball sub will blow you away. This location and the Strawberry street spot are easily the best pizza in the area.

Food - covered in too much garlic even for me, and I'm a fan of garlic :( Did not like this pizza.Service/atmosphere - I was served with a few words I couldn't hear over the pumping grimy electronic music. I shouted out my order and received it. So I guess that's service.P.S. This store had a pile of revolutionary literature sitting by the front door. I was shocked to see a business so outwardly stand against the USA.

Got a single sausage pizza -- $21 for the pizza alone. For this price, I was expecting knock my socks back-- best pizza in Virginia. It was not.The pizza had a good crust, and heavy oregano flavor. The cheese was overly greasy, and overall lacked flavor other than canned tomatoes and oregano. There is no service -- they take your order at the counter -- and you get it there. No trash containers insides-- which makes it apparent they don't want you sticking around.Unfortunately, Google got this one wrong.

The pizzas are overpriced. It took a while for them to be made; however, it was Friday. The pepperoni pizza was good but the sausage and onion pizza was average. The largest issue was the size of the pizzas. They were way too small! The place should be called 1/2.

Their pizza is so good! We only ordered one, but we could have order 3 more. That is exactly how good it truly is.

Nummmm nummm nummm. Consistently good but beware, causes serious cravings. I loooooove the spaghetti with meat sauce, it's more of that Tuscan flavor than a tomato base and is enough for two sittings. The prosciutto, mozza, arugula hero is perfect if you are in the mood for a light summer meal.
