We stop every time we're in town. Obviously an institution; the locals told us it's "TTs". Fast, incredibly inexpensive, open 24 hours. Always delicious.Vegetarian options: Plenty of egg sandwich options.
Theres a sign at the entrance of Smith Mountain Lake for the Texas Tavern. It says it's open 24 hours a day & it's Roanoke's Millionaires Club. So if you're from Dallas and you remember the Dallas Millionaires Club, you just assume the Texas Tavern is a strip club! Well, it's a diner with 10 seats that only takes cash & been open since 1930!They have a very specific language for the very limited menu but today I just had the cheeseburger which is super yummy! ?
