“This was an excellent meal and the staff was friendly and fast. We had the special of stuffed cabbage and the German Sampler. So much food! I wish we would have saved room for the Black Forest cake because it looked devine.”
“Delicious well prepared food with outstanding service. Fried haddock was perfectly prepared, catfish was spicy but delicious, and my daughter devoured the lobster Mac n cheese. Would recommend to anyone with seafood itch when visiting this charming downtown. And, they do outdoor streets closed dining on weekends. Might be back to visit just to experience that!”
“We love this place. This is our 3rd or 4th visit. We try to stop every time we are passing through Staunton, several times a year. They have a variety of ciders on tap, which differs from visit to visit. We usually get a flight of 6 so we can try the ones we hadn't had before, in addition to our favorites. The vibe is very cool, with a mix of people of different ages. Lots of seating with people playing cards or board games. This time it was a Saturday evening and there was live music and a food truck outside (no food otherwise except snacky foods like bags of chips). The place was very busy, but the bartenders kept up with the crowd. The servers are very knowledgeable about the ciders they have and were able to describe the flavor of each cider. They also serve mixed drinks using the ciders with other things like rum, Gin, juices, etc. We've had a few of those on previous visits and each one we tried was very delicious. We haven't tried them all yet, but we'll get to them eventually! And for those non-cider fans, they have a cooler with some cans and bottles of beer. They also sell some of their ciders by the bottle, and we've taken some home with us in the past. Can't wait until our next trip to Stanton.Dietary restrictions: All ciders and mixed drinks are gluten free.Parking: Plenty of parking on site and on the street, and also a large public parking lot next doorWheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to get up to the outdoor deck and into the building”
“This is our second visit. The first was 10 years ago. We were visiting from out of town both times. Both times were very enjoyable and did not disappoint. Well rounded experience both times.”
“I spoke with a now retired health inspector who said Aioli had the cleanest kitchen she had ever seen in the state. This place takes pride in its food, service, and cleanliness. None better.”
“In visiting family here in my hometown. We decided to keep it local and support our locals. Depot was the choice. Everything from drinks at the bar to the departure was absolutely fantastic. Thank you!”
“Vegetarian options: Most of the dishes did have a meat component, but there were some vegetarian options. I had the fettuccine and it was very good!Parking: After 5:00 on weekdays the nearby parking lot and street parking are free, otherwise they are metered in the parking lot and limited to 2 hours on the street.”
“The Shack was a refreshingly unique experience and we are still talking about the incredible flavors we enjoyed there. When we walked in to the tiny restaurant, we noticed the interior is completely unpretentious. At the Shack, the focus is the meal you will enjoy there and we really enjoyed that. We had a wonderful five course meal (with extra gifts added from the chef) and each had a different wine paring. The wine was very intelligently paired and really just made the evening. My husband and I had different food and wine with each course and with one of the courses we were each given a Chenin Blanc that were so radically different. We loved it, and the food was equally exciting. The chef meandered from Asian to Italian cuisine while sewing a thread of Appalachia through each course to tie it all together. Really inspired food and we cannot wait to return.*The food was beautifully plated but we did not take photos so you will just have to go enjoy it for yourself to see the chefs creations...they will likely be different next week anyway.”
“My favorite restaurant, every time I go, I always order the seafood.Parking: Parking lot flat and convenient to restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Family orientedWheelchair accessibility: Flat parking and no stairs.”
“Overall hibachi was good, though shrimp was kinda chewy, everything else like rice, steak, and vegetables were great. Place was packed so refills on drinks was a little bit slow. Staff and chef were friendly and polite.”
“The other night we went to Red lobster they were so busy that our waitress did not have a whole lot of time to do things for us she had too many tables to tend to they need it more staff that night because they were packed but other than that that was an amazing place to eat the food was out of this ”
“Cute little wine bar with friendly staff and a big selection of international wines with some local wines. Our hostess was super knowledgeable and they even have non alcoholic wine you can order by the glass. Nice place to just relax in the afternoon!”
