“Had an early dinner today with my friend. Before we even stepped onto the sidewalk the door swung open and we were greeted with cheerful smile. Our server was awesome. She read off the daily specials like a champ and answered all of our questions. We even received a complimentary shrimp snack before our appetizer even arrived and delicious homemade biscuits. The owner greeted every table multiple times and even cleared plates. The shrimp cocktail was very good and beautifully plated. I had a blacked salmon salad which was equally as tasty. For dessert we had the BEST key lime pie. All of this for under $100 and we were in and out within an hour (granted we did get salad so I’m sure other dishes take longer) i would highly recommend this hidden gem. This is a small restaurant that doesn’t take reservations as we left around 5:30pm the place was already packed and had a 15min wait. Don’t let that hinder you tho! It’s worth it. If i lived In VA beach id be a regular.”

They welcomed us like old friends despite no reservation and seated us at a table perfectly suited for an enchanted evening. Our waitress, Kate expertly guided us through our options and periodically had little surprise samplers of delectable goodies throughout our meal. My ribeye was cooked to perfection with the sauce and whipped potatoes creating the best flavor and texture I’ve ever experienced in a steak dinner. It was melt in your mouth good. My wife greatly appreciated the equal attention given to the vegetable dishes noting the specific combination of marinated fruits in her salad. The ambiance here is perfect for date night or family dinner to remember. I highly recommend, and we will be BACK.Vegetarian options: As much attention is given to how the vegetable dishes are prepared as is given the main event of the entree. My vegetarian wife was as happy with her meal as I was with mine.”

That's exactly what Mason's delivers. The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, and it's clear the owners are involved in daily operations.Worth a try if you're into lobster! “This was my first time dining at Heirloom and it certainly will not be my last. The atmosphere is very cute, reminds me of farmhouse chic. I had the She crab soup for an appetizer and it was amazing. I was pleasantly surprised at how much jumbo lumps of crab were in the soup is very delicious. I got the chicken thigh and plantain special for the night and it was amazing and although I was very full I decided to try the creme brulee for dessert and I'm so glad that I did It was one of the best I've ever had. I will see you above and beyond service from Meredith and Hannah, they both made it an extremely pleasant experience and gave great suggestions. “J&K Style Grill catered my mother's 60 Birthday Party on 3/16/24. We ordered Pulled Pork, Grilled and Fried Chicken, Mac & Cheese, Collards, Potato Salad, Egg Rolls, Dinner Rolls, Tea and Lemonade. When the food was delivered Kelvin and his wife Latonya and their daughter took the liberty to set the food up for us and light the warmers. They were only supposed to drop the food off. Kelvin also offered to leave his food warmers to keep the extra food warm until it was ready to be served. He went out of his way to make sure that we were ok. I really appeciate the GREAT service that was given and would recommend them to any and everyone. On top of the great service the food was also really good. You will not loose if you choose J&K Style Grill. Will add photos later.”

The best empanadas, rice pudding, Cuban Sandwich, everything. Even the coffee is done to perfection. House made Cuban bread? Crazy! “If you are looking for a place to sit outside and enjoy the weather... New River Taphouse is a good bet. They do not have the overhead shades any longer. You can bring your dog, so they can enjoy the outing as well. Our server was nice... she was in training but she was helpful. The prices were acceptable. The deck was clean. There is a large selection of beer and wine. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.”
“I had the tuna and my son had the calamari. Both were phenomenal. The tuna was not like tuna bites you get at most restaurants. This was SUPER tender for real!! At first you think it won’t be enough but it really was. I have had calamari that was not fresh, and when it’s not fresh, it is like rubber I’m very hard to chew, but this calamari was very tender, and had an excellent sauce that accompanied it . We also ordered the Spiced Rum Cake that was delicious. We had two servers, first of female, and then a male and both of them were excellent, however, I do want to say the male was more attentive, but both were awesome. We went on a Saturday in the middle of the afternoon and it was not busy at all. Although it was raining a lot outside, so that might’ve had something to do with it. They do have outside seating, which I would imagine in the summertime would be great.”

We started with caprese salad and split it - good thing because it was a nice portion with terrific flavors. The burgers are done to order with a 'crisp' griddle exterior and a choice of sides - the truffle parmesan fries were grade A. Nice selection of burgers but we went 'classic' and it was on point! A small selection with a decent variety of beers (thankfully not several IPA's) and 'build your own' Manhattan or Old Fashions with a terrific choice of bitters and bourbon. Oh yeah!Did I mention the whiskey flights? Great service (sorry I didn't get her name but my wife loved her earrings) from a personable staff (several of them helped serve) make this one our favorite Va Beach places.”

“I found this place accidentally, but I pleased by the noodle.The noodle is authentic Chinese (Chongqing style) .The picture was taken after I ate half of it.As you seen the noodle is not ramen noodle, rather be softer.The soup was delicious. Not sure there is a better compliment to a hot cup of coffee. Owners are super nice and live locally. Definitely give it a shot.”

One of their cocktails listed both gin and vodka and they refused to make that cocktail without the vodka...which tells me that their drinks must be pre-made and that they can't make any drink not specifically listed on the menu. Overall, no strong scents or flavors in these drinks though I was expecting something that'd land a punch. The "new era" drinks were more creative. Liked the "Fairly Odd Pairings" that had a lot going on and "Take Your Shoes Off" for its subtle green tea notes. "7 Mile Gimlet" was a bit watered down IMO, no peanut butter flavor. "Absinthe Lemonade" was meh. The truffle fries were good - fresh and crispy. Atmosphere was laidback with the week night working professionals crowd, cozy with a fireplace and a ton of taxidermy décor all around. I’m allergic to shrimp so I was happy to find that they use separate steamers for the different types of shellfish and that the crab legs and shrimp were not located together (cross contamination). It is on the expensive side, but given the price of a pound of crab legs at a different restaurant, the all you can eat food is definitely worth the price.”

The steak is the only thing I ever order and it's really amazing for the price. I had fried pickles once and they were really salty but I couldn't stop eating them they tasted so good. The servers are decent overall I'd rate it 7/10. Don't forget to ask for the free peanuts on the way out”

“Made reservations here for a large party to celebrate my husbands birthday. So happy they were able to accommodate all of us but it was still fairly new at the time and on a weekday. People arrived at staggered times and not all at once but we were seated immediately. Our server was not welcoming and wasn't really feeling our party vibe but we were all excited to see each other and be together celebrating. She got our drink orders and then started taking our app orders. There are so many items on the menu it's hard deciding what to get. Our food came out quickly and everything was delicious the pizza, apps and entrees. The drinks were really good as well. Since it was our first time we were excited to try everything. We wanted to try dessert but our server didn't ask if we wanted any or offer the menu. Instead we started receiving our checks so we got the hint that she wanted us out. Since we were there to celebrate an occasion we voiced that out and they gave us a tiramisu. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is delicious!! Can't wait to go back. Hopefully next time we'll have a better experience with our server and won't get an RBF the whole time.
