My husband placed a to-go order in person today. He ordered 2 lunch box pick 1's. We've had these before and it comes with a small salad and 1 or 2 gyozo, sometimes soup when we've dined in. We've also always had a shrimp appetizer and/or cheesecake added complimentary in our to go orders or dining in. Today my husband got home to find absolutely nothing is included with this lunch "box" anymore. They were each 8 pieces of sushi (1 roll) and one had a side of raw dried out cabbage. Absolutely nothing else included. Apparently it's extra $$ to include a salad or anything else now. Not at all worth the money.

I usually go to the Yama Chen in Suffolk but due to moving I gave this one a try and loved it! The area is well decorated and clean. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming. The food is just as delicious.Kid-friendliness: My kids have a blast here and they love the decoration/music.

Disclaimer: By the time I took these pictures, I was already stuffing my face lol I remembered to take pictures mid-chew! Now to the review!First off, I have to just say that this restaurant is truly beautiful! I was amazed at the decor walking in! I proceeded to the counter to place my order for takeout and was immediately greeted by an employee there who was very sweet. Great customer service! She took my order and let me know of the wait time. I ordered the Golden shrimp sushi roll with the vegetable filled noodles. When my order was ready, she brought it out to me and provided me with a cheesecake on the house!! That was so sweet! The food was absolutely amazing! I've had sushi before but this definitely took the#1 place! The noodles were great as well and wasn't salty like others I've tried elsewhere! The cheesecake was so soft and flavorful, every bite was so delicate! I overall had a great experience! I look forward to dining in next time! I highly recommend this place!

This place should be called Yama home cause it makes me feel like I’m home. I love Yama Chen specifically this location. Every time I’m told we are going here I do the Yama Chen dance. Always pleasant and kind service and amazing food. Fire chicken is my favorite but you can’t go wrong with anything, sushi is delicious too! Very unassuming from the outside, but not in a negative way at all. Kind of blends in extremely well. My girlfriend and I were here for date night. Any reservations we might have had immediately evaporated after we came through the door. We had Haley as our waitress, and she was truly phenomenal. She was always present but not overbearing at all, and made us feel extremely comfortable. In our ignorance, we ordered two Sushi Boats (by the way, it's absolutely huge, and comes out on an actual freakin boat!!! What's in a name, really?) and a couple of appetizers. I have never had better sashimi in my life. They have wonderfully skilled chefs, so the food service was extremely quick. The portions for their miso soup, seaweed salad, and kani salad were massive.
