“Small, local bar in West Rutland. There's a covered outdoor section and a bowling video game inside the bar. No food is currently served. Limited parking out front of the bar but most parking is on the street. Friendly and sweet owner.”

“Super place to play pool and get tasty, thoughtfully prepared snacks. Gail, the owner, runs a great shop. Friendly tavern culture. Met some other nice (and good) pool players. Strongly recommend Westside if you are looking for a civilized pool/tavern experience. Prices beyond reasonable.”

Guy cooking was fantastic, friendly and kind, great with the kids and their weird requests.He made it much more fun for them!I got the roast beef cheddar melt and it was fantastic! Big enough for 2 meals for me and he even wrapped it up for me rather than just handing me a box.Keep in mind fries are not on the menu. Breakfast served all day!Street parking right out front.Limited but sufficient seating indoors.”

“Masala Corner really exceeded my expectations, I’m glad I came in. I came by myself (and missed the buffet, which is only on Wednesday) so I didn’t get to try many things, but everything was flavorful, spicy, and fresh - much better than most of the indian places near me in NYC, and better than anywhere else I’ve eaten in Rutland. I’ll be back with a bigger group!”

“Hey name is Alex and I own “Hair Force One” on Stratton Road and a client of mine gave me a gift card to West St., Grill… I finally decided to use it this evening being February 16 and asked my son to join me so we went… We were seated immediately. The waitress was awesome, the bartender was super friendly!… We ordered soup first that was dynamite!… The main course came and it was so good we inhaled it !…. Seriously, I do not cook whatsoever therefore I eat out and this restaurant rocks.!!….. Everybody has got to try this place, you will not be disappointed!!”

“Cozy little cabin with old school counter service and basic eats with a home cooked feel. We got a couple of breakfast sandwiches to go and some gifts for friends.Solid range of maple products. Various maple syrups, jams, maple sugar, maple cookies, maple candies, maple popcorn, etc and a souvenir shop downstairs.”

The coffee, cinnamon roll croissants, and bacon egg & cheese breakfast sammys were exactly what we needed. The owner was very friendly and gave excellent tips for what to see in the surrounding area! “Visiting from nyc I expected medium quality sushi given Rutland is pretty inland and in more of a farm area. Their fish was some of the best. Phenomenal Chirashi - every piece of fish was good, some phenomenal.”

“My new weekly ritual on Tuesday is to order my dinner from Avellinos. Rigatoni with meatballs and Italian sausage. Homemade Italian bread also included. For the price...usually $11, you get your to go container full of delicious pasta with sauce and parmesan cheese. Don't care where you dine in Rutland...for the price, you get enough food for at least 2 meals. Plus I get to support a local business, and a fellow moose lodge member. If you haven't called them before, perhaps give them a call sometime for dinner on a day you're unsure of your dinner plans. You won't be disappointed. I believe orders are taken from 4-7pm. Take out of course.”

“I finally stopped in here for a sandwich and instantly knew it would be good (I recently moved here from north jersey where they know a thing or 2 about good delis). There was a long line but it moved very quickly. (In my opinion a long line is a sign the place is good). The smell of a real authentic Italian style deli caught my attention right away after walking through the door. I got a large ham, salami and provolone which was INCREDIBLE. The bread, the meat, the toppings were all fresh. I walked out with a great sandwich, a bag of chips and a soda for about $15. Will definitely be back soon.”

“Hear me out on this one…I have been a bagel enthusiast my whole life. I eat a bagel almost every single day and have done so for many years. The bagel with cream cheese that I ordered here was hands down the best that I have had in my life. The bagel was somewhat hard/crunchy on outside but also soft on the inside. The dough was just the perfect level of saltiness and the cream cheese at the perfect consistency from the warm bagel. I wish I could buy some bagels from them frozen online or something. I will be stopping again next time I’m passing through to Killington.”

“From the food, the service, the ambience is amazing. I really love that I can go and eat at a restaurant but also pick up a few items for my next meal time at home. I got this amazing sauce from Little Haveli calledAAGIN Indian hot sauce, smoky BHOOT made with BHUT JOLOCIA chillies. I got the Pakoras Two vegetable samosa, Kheer and Two Garlic naan for my young kiddos! They absolutely love it! For the adults I got the Veggie schezwan rice and Allo Mutter made vegan we devoured it in seconds! Wish we took photos it was AMAZING!!!”

“Came here with my friend, her husband, and their 1 year old. The hostess seated us at the bar since we didn't have a reservation. There was a 4 top open that wasn't set yet but she did not offer it to us. Maybe 10 mins later a couple walked in and they also did not have a reservation and were seated at the 4 top. Seriously? Our party had 3 adults and a kid and they seated us at the bar and the couple got seated at a 4 top? A bit annoying to say the least... Appetizer was good although the spinach-artichoke dip was a bit oily. Food was pretty good as well. Waffle fries were hot and coleslaw was delish with the fresh herbs. However, my fried chicken thighs were a bit dry and overcooked and definitely nowhere near as hot as my fries. Kind of disappointing for a place known for its fried chicken. Fairly small place on the inside. Next time I will know to call ahead and make a reservation. Despite the annoyance with the seating and lackluster fried chicken, my friends enjoyed their meals and our server was very friendly and attentive. The place is cute, one of those true VT gems and I will most likely be coming back (and hopefully the chicken will be hotter and moister next time!).”
