“My favorite tofu banh mi because it has veggies with the tofu. Pretty unique. Love that the veggies mean I don't need mayo. Tea runs on the sweet side. This is mostly a lunch bar with a few outdoor seats and a stand up bar inside, but don't plan to eat here; get a pile of sandwiches and go someplace beautiful to “
“I love layers. I was never really into sandwiches before they came along, but they have changed my opinion. The flavors here are so incredible. They're creative but also simple, taking the best and freshest ingredients to create something amazing. I’ve seen some complaints about the pricing, but I’ve had many different sandwiches here and you can really tell the quality. The bread really sets them apart, but it’s all good. You can really tell that they put love and care into their food. Highly recommend!!“
“Yeah, this place is totally awesome. I went here on a pastrami and Reuben date with my husband. Right before this we went to a different spot for a Reuben and a pastrami sandwich and this spot won the pastrami sandwich award. We loved all the different selections on the menu. Definitely a younger and more hip crowd in here and they have lots of fried goods to accompany your sandwich. This seems like definitely the real deal as it can be quite hard to find solid sandwiches in Seattle.“
“This spot is awesome! I love the casual vibe, the quick pick up and go type of place. To my surprise there was two high chairs. The inside was cozy but its a very simple spot. The price is a big high but that’s fine. The taste hit the spot!Kid-friendliness: High chairs!“
“A hole in the wall that I wish I had discovered far earlier than today. I had an egg and ham breakfast sandwich with this lemon-y aioli that was absolutely divine. The salted caramel chocolate chip cookie was *chef's kiss* yumyumyum! The people who were working this morning were so kind and I look forward to returning.“
“I went midweek at 2Pm. I was the only person there, service was prompt and friendly. The music and atmosphere was chill but great. I ordered the Prosciutto sandwich. The sandwich was so good, one of the best I have had in a while. If you are in the area, it is definitely a place worth going.Parking: This is a residential area so parking could be rough during a busy time.“
“You had better be good if you put sandwiches in your name, and Valhalla is very very good!!High quality ingredients and really good sandos!!We had the Fidel Cashflow on Arugula and the Steak Bestie w the Apple slaw.Really good!! We will be back!!!“
“This place is so cute. The servers were busy but kind, and the food taste was good. If you have a picky eater in the family be really particular about what you order(ie my son ordered nachos but they come with pineapple and thick slices of sautéed onion...unique flavor but not at all what he was expecting)“
“My coworker and I just moved into a new office space nearby and we walked over for a couple of breakfast sandwiches to-go this morning. It cannot be overstated that the folks behind the counter are friendly, attentive and warm. Our sandwiches were wonderfully prepared and wrapped with care. We were both raving about the food before we even tasted it because it smelled so good and it was packaged so nicely. They knocked it out of the park -- perfectly cooked bacon egg and cheese on a perfectly toasted english muffin. Just a wonderful experience. Can't wait for my next breakfast at Blue Heron :)“
“Love this place ever since I lived in Tempe. Was a regular at their ASU location. Now that I'm in Portland, the closest ones are Eugene and Seattle. Finding myself heading home from a weekend in Seattle, I decided that would be my meal home. Grabbed a white widow and a gooball and a fountain drink so I could mix the koolaid. Everything was just as delicious as I remember! And the service at this location was amazing. Everyone was very friendly.“
“I almost never leave reviews and am only moved to by truly exceptional quality. I have been a customer at Royal Grinders since around 2013 when I lived right up the street. I would go at least once (sometimes three times) a week my whole time I lived in the neighborhood. I’m a creature of habit and always get the chicken pesto grinder with everything. Since leaving the neighborhood I don’t have the opportunity to go as often, but i look forward to it every time I do. When it closed during the pandemic, I was quite disappointed. I remember when it first reopened I called ahead to get my usual order. I figured it would be slammed. Nobody answered like they always had in the past and I was disappointed. When I arrived I noticed the line going out the door and I understood why no one had answered. When I got to the front the owner seemed to recognize me from my time as a regular which took me by surprise. I told him I’d called ahead and nobody answered. He was apologetic and, without me asking, told me he would get my order out quickly. There were at least 5 people waiting ahead of me and my sandwich came out first. I felt truly appreciated and like my regular business was noticed and rewarded which is extremely rare. As for the sandwiches, they are literally my favorite sandwich in the city. I take any opportunity to tell my friends that it’s the best sandwich spot in town.“
“Under new ownership, and it's the best possible scenario! Kiss Cafe has my favorite tuna melt and the family loves the french toast and Jonny's Tighty Whitey. The pick-a-can option is great, and if you're a regular you can even join the Ballard Drinking Team.“
“Check their menu out online beforehand. Then you use the tablet to put your order in, and wait until they call your name. The food was delicious next time I'm in Seattle I'll definitely be back!Vegetarian options: The grilled cheese was delicious!“
“My son, his son, MY GRANDSON, visited when they were dropping me off at train station in Seattle, WA. Real close to Amtrak, GREAT atmosphere and GREAT service. Person who was working at the time (when opening) was VERY PLEASANT, helped us to pick the right things that we expressed what we would like!! RECOMMEND for a place to visit when in the area or passing through.Kid-friendliness: My grandson was very at ease he at it all that he was given and ordered just for him!!“
“I will dream of the first bite I took of the famous sandwich… so juicy… so balanced… perfect bread. There was a millisecond into my second half of the sandwich where it was slightly less jucy and I was like ayo what’s going on??! But then it came back. Is it the best sandwich in America? Wouldn’t fight that characterization tbh. Also Tamarind Jarritos is a perfect soda.“
“Needed a quick lunch spot so stopped in The Stop and SO glad I did. I wish I lived here so I could go back again and again and try every sandwich. I got the Dolce Vida, which was DELICIOUS. I need to go back and try all the rest, and even breakfast. Highly recommend!“
“Stopped in here after getting my new passport. Was served a DELICIOUS sandwich accompanied by some of their homemade banana chocolate chip bread. And oof! It was all fantastic.Great service. Great food.If you're in the area and feeling the hungry tummy rumbles... this is the place to go! :)“
“Went in to check out menu. Picked the Neanderthal (such clever names - I suggested they get buffalo & create a sandwich and call it "the Native" ) The service was great. Grant helped me out, really great personality!I don't like to drive and eat but I was hungry and hadn't eaten all day so a few nibbles later and WOW!!! I ate 1/2 of the sandwich!!! It was so delicious. The bread was fresh, bacon yummy goodness, turkey, lettuce , tomatoes, and mayo was just the right amount or maybe that was aoli...and those pickled red onions ..omg!I will be back Grant!!??? “
“It’s a great place for sandwiches with seating inside the beautiful Lark restaurant. We went on a cold Saturday around 1230 and we’re easily able to grab a seat. The fried chicken sandwich is delicious as is the burrata salad. Kids and adults enjoyed it. It was fun to sit at the window and stay warm while enjoying good food.“
“Amazing food. Owner Paul and his wife are incredibly friendly. Me and my buddy were touring Seattle to eat anywhere we could and this was easily the best food we found especially for the price. 10/10 worth the walk and we swung back by for seconds. Incredibly friendly to tourists as well.“
“The food is always delicious! Service is friendly, even when it's busy. My husband and I have been eating sandwiches here for the past ten years and it has always been our favorite sandwich joint?? Keep up the fantastic work! Yall are Killin it?“
“This place has the best sandwiches in Seattle. Notice how all of the low stars are from people complaining about nonsense like a forgotten order or an experience they had one time where it felt slow. If you want that go to Subway, if you want an absolutely delicious sandwich with high quality ingredients from a local small business, go here.“
“Popping sandwich, puts Mean Sandwich to shame! Every thing was very good, but I need to try more! Split two sandwiches and ate a bowl of jambalaya, very filling but I felt that the Italiano was missing a variety of flavor. Still would highly recommend and was no where near disappointed!“
“Just like Kylo Ren screaming "MOOOORE!" in Episode 8, I want more of these sandwiches. When the staff said "everything is good, I'm not just saying that" they were not just saying that. If there's one thing that's going to bring me back down to Seattle (from BC) it's going to be these sandwiches.Vegetarian options: I tried the Veggie Diablo simply because I wanted something that hit fresh in everyway. Even though the main part of the sandwich was spinach, there was so much it was actually what brought the sandwich together.“
“I will drive out of my way just to go to this subway. It tastes a lot better for some reason. Also, I agree with the other comment, the polite lady that works here deserves a raise. She’s so polite and hardworking :) I love when my subway is prepared by her. Always nicely made.“
“Love that it is open 24 hours. Super Friendly staff. My orders through the app are always ready when I walk in and I enjoy getting to 'jump the line'. Tasty fresh ingredients. Good bread not crusty like other stores. They seem like they actually care. Definitely my favorite Subway location.“
“Quick, hot, well-made breakfast sandwich. Really fluffy eggs. Self-serve drip coffee with multiple creamer options. Reasonable price in U District.Parking: Located next door to the U District lightrail station and on 45th Street close to multiple bus lines. Best for those not using personal vehicle.“
“I had the spicy tofu bowl. It was tasty, filling, and healthy- I really like that it didn't rely on grains for bulk. The menu is small overall, but there's at least one vegan and one vegetarian option in each category. Great for a mixed, omnivore group.“
“I ordered the hog islander via uber eats and when I tell you that it was the best hoagie I've ever eaten I really mean that, and that's after it traveled and was delivered. I can only imagine how good it'll be if I go down there and get it myself. I added mama's peppers to it wich was a good touch and I got a pickle on the side too all of it was good“
“Great a lot for a Vegan friendly lunch. It feels a bit complicated your first time since you order from tablets in the front and wait for your name to be called. However, everyone was super nice. My favorite part is this place is that you can divide your trash into "landfill" and compostable bins.“
“If you want an amazing Sandwich in Seattle, it's hard to beat Mean Sandwich. High quality ingredients, delicious and inventive flavors, and a focus on making the food damn good. The vibes are great and the staff are friendly, creating an incredible hole in the wall. It's one of my favorite places to grab a beer, hangout, and eat some delicious food. Can't recommend enough!“
