“Ever I started coming to this I've felt like I'm becoming more and more like myself. I just can't wait until I can get my check back from the Spokane community college and then pay my debts. Then maybe move forward in my life and the city I live in with all these other people that are living in the same city. I like this business because it's local and I support the people that I choose to let be in my circle. I see real love here, a family of people that can just be themselves and listen to the same music and act like a goof or not act like a goof. People will let people be themselves up until I think of themselves are gonna hurt themselves or someone else's. I do honestly feel like maybe I'm slowly becoming more and more like family around here in Spokane. Where as before I was being quite so open and able to trust others. I don't choose the future or a future but in a way I kinda can choose my own future. I'm not trippin. But I am trying to keep putting 2 & 2 together, hopefully you and I would get four. “I have had the pleasure of visiting the Union Tavern a few times before with the most recent time being the afternoon of Saturday, January 6, 2024. The space itself is rustic-feeling in the best type of way. Red brick walls close you in creating a cozy feeling. The tavern is decorated in a way that is interesting but not overwhelming. I find it cool how they have old doors hanging from the walls!As for food and drink, you gotta love a place that provides you with a basket of complimentary popcorn the moment you sit down. The prices at Union Tavern are possibly the best for an establishment of its kind in the Spokane area. Some of the happy hour specials are excellent and the Union is infamous for its $5 cheeseburger on Tuesdays. My dad and I were each going to get the $14.99 Saturday steak special but it didn’t begin until 5 p.m. so we opted for the regularly-priced burger at $10.99—which is still a great deal in this region. But the drink prices are even better than the food prices. Once again, the happy hour prices are excellent but on this most recent visit I ordered a couple vodka Red Bulls and they were just $5 each! A lot of places will usually charge you at least that amount just for the Red Bull. You can always get a big Budweiser for $5 as well.I have always had incredible service at the Union and it continued this most recent time. Alexis was our server and she was nice, attentive, and accurate with everything we ordered. It was a full bar so I really appreciated the job she did. “Chill atmosphere with a great dj that kick off songs that are both relaxing and get you to get up and boogie. Bartenders and bouncers are both chill and badass peeps that keep the place legitimate. “Unfortunately, with their hours stated as closing at 10 pm, arriving at 8:50 I was presented with the info that the last call for food was at 9pm. We ordered just before 9pm and had a drink, and the server came up and announced last call for drinks was at 925.... We felt like we were being rushed out, with him turning off the restaurant music before we had finished dinner. I could tell we were not wanted, so next time I will just choose somewhere else.Just so you know, when looks at restaurants in the area, most places close at 9, with this establishment closing at 10. I would expect you to get some business after 9. If you don't want that business, just close at 9 like everyone else.“
“Andy’s bar and grill is a great little spot. Not really divey but still a great spot to get drinks with friends. They have board games and a super friendly staff! The crowd can be a little more left politically which can create issues with certain crowds that walk in. If people keep opinions to their selves great spot!“
“Always wanted to try this place. Finally did and oh my goodness it was well worth the trip in. Order the onion rings on the appetizer menu and thank me later. The French fries are super incredible too and one of a kind of course so if your plate doesn’t come with a side of fries please do yourself a favor and add a side of fries. Hubby had Salisbury steak and I had the bacon cheeseburger and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Normally have to remove the soggy bacon but not here it was cooked crispy! “The Maxwell House is a classic dive bar. However the owners have been making excellent improvements over the past 18 moths or so. “Great place to go if you are white. My husband and I were completely igorned by our waitress. Well, at first she said that she would be right with us. She never looked at us again until 10 minutes later a different waitress came to get out drink order. Our waitress eventually appeared and took our order. She delivered our food with an order of wings missing. She said that they would be right out and then the table next to us suddenly had wings but ours never came. Finally I caught the attention of a different waitress and asked for our check but that we never recieved our wings. The cook eventually brought the them to us in a to go bag. The other staff picked up the slack for our clearly racist waitress. I am a generous tipper but this is the first time for as long as I can remember that I left a less than generous tip. I honestly do not believe that this was a simple oversight in our waitress’s part. She attended to everyone around us.“

“PJ's is one of my favorite bars in town. It's got a solid foundation of regulars who are wonderful people, the staff is great, the food is good and the owner, Meadow, might be one of my favorite bar owners in town. She gives back to the Spokane community every opportunity she has and has a standing annual fundraising event every September. Donny Duck (one of my fav KJ's in town) runs karaoke on nights they have it and trivia on other nights. It's an all around fantastic local neighborhood bar, kinda like Cheers ?“
“First, the staff are amazing. I absolutely going and having drinks and eating there. Then Here Piggy Piggy burger is the most awesome thing I have ever eaten. However…..Friday nights are karaoke. The person they have hired is horrible. ProDJ Karaoke is not great. If you have people lined up in your queue to sign, you shouldn’t be singing yourself (especially when you are not a great singer). I don’t think we will be back on Fridays unless someone new is brought in.Other than karaoke, this place is great.“

“We went to the Post Street Ale House to try a new place for lunch after my husband's eye Dr appointment today and before we made the long drive home. We had the bacon & beer cheese soup, mozzarella bombs appetizers and split a Cowboy burger. The food was great. The appetizers and burger were really flavorful and filling without feeling too heavy. “We enjoyed dinner here before the Nutcracker for it’s close location and the ambience and beautiful Christmas decorations and I’m happy the say, our entrees were great.I was excited to try ‘pomegranate duck breast’ since last year it was just the conventional steak or salmon options and it didn’t disappoint! Paired it with ‘Bing’s Old Fashioned’ cocktail and berry salad with some crème brûlée for dessert and it was perfect. Even my wife’s ’crab Louie’ salad had thick chunks in it this year instead of last year’s shredded was I thought was also an improvement.Something I think is really interesting is the Davenport’s historical 1892 menu included items I’ve never had such as “squab, mackerel, ox tongue, mutton, partridge” and several other meats I would love to try if a restaurant offered them. Regardless, wonderful evening despite some issues with the service. Would highly recommend the food!“
