Sure, the prices are unbelievable. But so is the food, service and overall experience.

Best restaurant we've ever been to. Delicious food, everything was amazing and the service is unmatched industry wide. Remarkable menu and spectacular wait staff.
What is there to say? This is a great, classic spot. Great food and wine, we LOVE the live piano, and we always feel well taken care of. The showy table side menu items are always fun--so make sure to try steak tartar, Caesar salad, the smoked old fashioned and their French '75. The steak on a flaming sword is really fun to watch, but a straight order of filet mignon is better steak. Leave a good tip (for the piano player, too!) because these people work hard to make your experience excellent. It's a bit cold on the floor dining since the doors are just up the stairs, so bring a comfortable layer or two in winter. I wish we could afford to make this a regular date night, but for us it is special occasions only, and it never disappoints!

Beautiful restaurant, great food. You pay for it but it's worth it.Parking: Valet parking complementary with dinner.
Free Valet lot was full. Rainy walk on dark streets in Tacoma. Very average bone-in NY steak. Didn't finish it, and didn't take home the leftovers. Not wild about new server pay/tip plan. Pressure to upsell over creating a great dining experience was obvious. Plugging the Revelers Club frequent diner program at the table is classless. Two steaks, three sides, and a bottle of wine = $440. No cocktail, no salads, no desserts/coffees. Will not return.
My husband and I had a reservation and clearly they were overbooked and understaffed. We walked in and the entire lobby was full. It was very hard to move around after we were greeted she said just have a seat. After our reservation time we walked over to melting pot and got right in. Considering it's a high-end restaurant and you're gonna end up paying minimum $200. It's not worth a wait.

The best steakhouse around. Classy atmosphere and staff, stellar service and incredible food. We come here regularly to celebrate special occasions or sometimes just for Happy Hour. Our go-to is the Steak El Gaucho and table-side Caesar, but you never want to miss the key lime pie. It's absolutely out of this world. The topping is light, fluffy and airy, and the pie itself is the perfect balance of sweet and tart and not too overpowering or heavy. We recently came here for Valentine's Day and tried the Chateaubriand (a table side service for two). Absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly. The baked potatoes were an unexpected surprise. Fluffed table side to the point they're almost whipped, with all the fixings and it just melts in your mouth. There were some off the menu dessert specials from a local bakery, and we had to try the pink champagne cake. Everything was top notch as always.

Oh gosh! The best food I ever had, it was so exquisite that I couldn't separate myself to take a photo! Get the wicked shrimp if you love a little kick <3 the steak is all to die for, can't go wrong with any of it!
We absolutely love El Gauchos in Tacoma! The ambience, service, the fabulous food! All of it. So many special moments celebrated there. Cannot wait to go back!
This is my 3rd El Gaucho location that I've been to and is probably my 2nd if not my favorite location. I love how when you walk in you have to walk downstairs to the dinning area. I think it's a cute concept to be in the waiting area and people watch. Service was exceptional. They called me a few days before my reservation to follow up on some questions regarding what I'm celebrating, allergies, etc. When you make the booking online, it already asks you all of that, but it's a nice touch for them to call and double confirm. They also made personalize menu for my birthday, rose petals on the table, and a signed birthday card oh my goodness. I've never seen that before. Talk about details! Our server was great. Fun personality and came by many times. Although we had a late reservation, our food took a while to come out. Came on Tuesday Feb 13th and it was super busy. Figured everyone also had the same idea to celebrate Valentine early! There was a live pianist which was awesome - really set the romantic vibes. Food was decent. We loved the roasted broccoli with butternut squash. Not the best steak that we've had, but not bad. They have banana bread pudding at this location which I was a bit bummed out since I really enjoy the other locations' Baileys bread pudding but that's just my personal preference. PS. Free valet parking.
