“We tried today an appetizer, chick peas and buns. We been going to this restaurant from last few months always had good food, fresh and warm. Definitely try chick peas and buns and makki roti and saag. If you are really into taste and quality, this is the best restaurant to go to.Great food, great people.“
“We were out shopping and starving when we stumbled upon this adorable restaurant. We stopped in and after a a short wait we got a booth and tried a plethora of dishes. Our faves were the chicken pakora and the medium butter chicken and the tandoori lamb. This restaurant has the best naan in my opinion and the decor and smell when you walk in speak to the attention to detail and wonderful food to come. We loved it so much we brought friends along on the last visit.“
“Came for Valentine's Day dinner. The lamb is delicious and the vegetable puree is also delicious. The most important thing is that it is served with pancakes, which is very unique. There is also a red rose for Valentine's Day dinner, which is thoughtful.“
“Excellent food. We're regulars here. Authentic and delicious with very friendly service. Unfortunately the dining room is now closed and there is no dining in. Delivery and carry out only. Call ahead, as it will be about 30 minute wait if you order at the counter for carry out. But it will be worth any wait time.“
“Really good place! The service was fast and the food came out piping hot! Really tasty dishes too. Full of complex spices and well developed flavor! The service was friendly and efficient. The decor was very pretty! Also it smells so good in there, I want a candle that smells like this restaurant!“
“Situated in the food court area of the famous Freighthouse Square in Tacoma, WA is Little India Express. The Freighthouse has seen better days and used to be filled with tons of tiny little shops filled with imported trinkets and antiques or art. They had hobby stores and a myriad other boutique shops. On top of that, they have a food court. It has also seen better days but the food vendors are probably keeping this entire establishment afloat. Inside you'll find a burger joint, a fish and chips place, a Mexican restaurant complete with rooftop seating and a full bar, a mediterranean spot and then there's Little India. I was actually on the hunt for some Indian food this day and I found them here on Yelp. Someone's review had pleaded with readers to please check this place out and to be honest, when I saw the plethora of other choices, I almost changed my mind. Ultimately, I settled in on Little India and I was pleasantly surprised! My wife previously worked with an Indian man whose wife would prepare traditional Indian dinner every single night. He would bring leftovers to work and shared them with my wife. She brought some home and I tried it and it was amazing but from that point on, my wife would compare every Indian place to that food and nothing ever measured up. Until... Little India Express checked all of the boxes and we now have our GO TO Indian restaurant. The portions were bigger than I had expected and they don't skimp on the meat. I'm used to ordering chicken tikka masala and getting a quart of sauce with 6 small pieces of chicken. This was not the case at Little India. The food tasted fresh and was seasoned well. You can order your heat level from 1 to 5 and the flavors are all present and accounted for. Our bellies were filled up and satisfied when we finished our lunch. Our only complaint with the food was that the naan was thin and crispy instead of light and fluffy. The flavor was good but it was like having a large cracker instead of flat bread. The only other complaint was that the Mexican restaurant projects the worst music on the planet from the absolute worst speaker ever created and the entire food court has to endure the torture of the assault on their eardrums but I can't fault Little India Express for that. If you're in the Tacoma area or passing by looking for some good eats, I highly recommend stopping in for some Indian cuisine. I seriously doubt that you'll be disappointed. Pro tip: Freighthouse Square does have washrooms however, they are not clean, they are not updated and they are not maintained well at all so make sure you don't need to use the facilities before you stop in.“
