Restaurantji unveils Eau Claire's must-visit Mexican dining spots.
“Amazing authentic food. Very filling and exactly what I wanted. The inside is quiet and very nice looking. My one complaint is that unfortunately I let our server know I had an allergy to something on a dessert and she made the mistake of serving me food with what I am allergic to. She asked if it was okay to not be fixed and then offered to fix one of the desserts not both. However someone else had noticed the issue and took both desserts away and fixed both for us without me having to say a word. They did a great job noticing the issue and correcting it as soon as possible. I don't blame our waitress for any of it as I don't believe english was her first language which is perfectly okay“
“A very good place for tacos. The rice & beans are tasty. The birria was great and flavorful. Excellent spice & their hot sauce is no joke. It has a solid punch just like it should.. the ladies there were super nice. I definitely will be back.“
“We were cautious because there were only güeros working (in front) and eating, but our burritos with chorizo and spicy sauce were delicious and authentic. Now I see that the chef is from Mexico. Maybe they should hire more Mexicans. There are many who are happy to work.“
“Food? 10/10 Service? 10/10. Had the steak chimichanga and pork gorditas and they were phenomenal! Head of house came by to ask us how we liked everything which was nice and cleared our table. Food came out shortly after we ordered too. Definitely coming back thank you!“
“Wonderful atmosphere~ clean, spacious, with lovely background music. The authentic Paloma cocktail and margarita was well-made. Shrimp tacos and chicken enchilada was timely, hot and delicious. Topped off a delightful experience with a gracious host who recommended the Butter Toffee Cake. It was a win! Definitely will go back and highly recommend.“
“First time at this location. Everything was fantastic. I ordered a big burrito and it was delicious. We had a table of 8 and everyone was happy with their meal. The service was fast and the waiter was friendly. I highly recommend this location.“

“Moved here from AZ and thought that was going to be the last of having great authentic Mexican cuisine; I was wrong. Azul Tequila made me feel like I was back in AZ. Food was prepared very quickly, our server was great and the atmosphere was perfect. My family and I will definitely be returning back.“

“Fantastic meals served here! Tortillas and homemade salsa to start, were great with lots of flavor. I had the steak tacos and a steak and sausage taco on corn tortillas , mex style and bowl of the cheese dip. Fantastic, fresh and authentic! My friend had a chili releno, beef chimi combo dinner and he loved it! Staff super friendly and restaurant was clean and welcoming. If I ever make it back to WI, I will be stopping here for a great meal and break from the road.“
“Every time I come to town I always stop here to get some groceries that I can't get in my local area and I always eat a meal. They have a very wide variety of Hispanic dishes. The service is amazing. They are very welcoming. The food is delicious it's very authentic and homemade. The music makes the atmosphere very fun. The grocery store that is connected is fully stocked with everything that you could need. The prices are very reasonable. I never skip a chance to stop here.“
“Silly Serrano has put in a lot of work to create an eye catching venue for people to enjoy Mexican cuisine. There is a fun mural on the outside of the building and they have added a nice sized patio on the side of the building (which I believe is dog friendly). I always value outdoor dining options and when my dog can join me! The food has been great when I have dined in, got takeout, and when it was catered. I have enjoyed working with Silly Serrano when catering an event too. They were really nice to work with, flexible, and more affordable than some other vendors. I have enjoyed the food, but haven't loved their coffee. I appreciate the convenience of the drive thru when on the go, but I would say it it's not worth the stop if you're going solely for coffee. I feel there are better coffee options relatively close. I typically order a vanilla latte when I go places, but I just haven't enjoyed theirs (It may be the syrup they use that I am not a fan of, but don't know for sure). If you do decide to get coffee, they do allow use of reusable mugs, so it is always encouraged when you bring one to reduce single use products!It's also important to note that they are only open until 2pm and they are closed Sunday and Monday.“
“Food and service was VERY good! Margaritas and their salsa are the best we've had in the Chippewa Valley! They have a TON of seating. More upscale than your usual Mexican cuisine, which is what we were after and what will bring us back. Highly underrated place. Would definitely recommend and will be back!“
“I went for lunch for my first time! The staff were very nice and answered all of my questions.Positives:The restaurant itself is clean and has a modern vibe to it. There's spanish music in the background that's pleasant. The chairs are comfortable and I like the option between a low table, bar, high top, or booth. The location also can't be beat!I got a chicken burrito bowl and it was delicious! It also came out to me very quickly after I ordered.You get a large portion for a very good price!Suggestions for improvement:1. To have a medium salsa option for those of us who think mild is boring and hot is painful.2. Move the silverware to a less tucked away spot. It seems like it'll get crowded in the narrow hall back by the soda machine.3. Salt and pepper shakers on every table.“
