We went for lunch/ brunch with family. We had six with a mix of lunch and brunch dishes. Started out outside, but lack of umbrella is a detraction since it gets too hot, especially when you wait a long time for meals, which we did. A looong time. The food was as usual great but some of us got suburns waiting an hour for our food. Seriously get umbrellas and an hour from order to food is too long. Fix this and its five star.

Great outdoor seating. Good food. Loved the spinach salad and chicken Wellington. The waiter really tried to take care if our every need. Banana cream pie was the finishing touch.

We had Friday night, 6:00 reservations. We got there a bit early. Host was rude, couldn’t be bothered by our arrival. A server eventually seated us. Place was less than half full. We enjoyed the mussels, the escargots and the tenderloin small plates immensely. Beer was flat and I sent it back. The evening dragged as our server, Shannon, struggled to get us our food timely. Several times she blamed a new menu on the poor experience we were having. After they finally caught and cooked the main entree, halibut we’d had enough. Again the halibut was excellent but the veggies and rice were pre-cooked and lukewarm. I asked Shannon to speak to her manager….she was the mgr. so my complaints prolly went nowhere. We cut out w/o dessert or coffee….after an hour and 45 minutes we were plenty fed up.

Views are great which is the only good thing going for this place, the food is terrible and service was slow considering only a few people seated. We ordered lobster and was shocked when the server came with six lobster, who orders six lobsters? , well the menu is misleading and server did not state its six lobsters and 5 /6 ounces is what it looks like on menu so I feel this place is a rip off and will not ever visit again. Another thing the server brought my soup with a very dirty spoon and my finace had some plastic in her red wine and nearly choked on it.My advice stay away

Very nice atmosphere. We went for lunch and ate outside. Service was very good, and we liked the sandwiches we ordered-different burgers. I had wanted the whitefish sandwich, but they did not have whitefish at that time. I had a twice baked potato which was excellent. We would go back for lunch.

My first time here was awesome. I had the ribeye Benedict, the entire meal was very good and honestly for how much food I got was kind of a good deal too. Service was amazing as well as the views from our outside table. Will definitely be going back.

First time coming here, thought we'd give it a try. Very disappointed! My wife's fish was under cooked, we sent it back be corrected, it came back soaked with hot grease. The sauce that the menu read would be drizzled on it was given to her on the second attempt, cold in a gravy boat. My Chicken Wellington looked delicious, first bite was hot and very good! The next bite was not as hot as the last, the next was cold. I looked down at my plate and saw the middle of my chicken dinner was still FROZEN! Our waiter did his best, he was a young eager to please young man that was a bit "too honest" about kitchen matters. Not his fault, he was clearly not properly trained. We left him a good sized gratuity. At the end of it all I expected management to stop at the table and ask how things were, knowing there were issues. And you guessed it, no show! I've heard good things about this place, that's why we tried it. Unfortunately, we did experience that. We won't be back!

We went for breakfast/brunch a few weeks ago and it was lovely! The server and other staff were super friendly and it was overall a really nice environment, excellent drinks, quality relaxed time together with family, and great food. Thanks for having us!

We loves The English Inn for a while now and went there for a date night last night. It was fairly busy but we were seated promptly. We had a waitress who let us know it was her first night. She was great and the only redeeming quality left there. We both got the filet mignon. Our potatoes and carrots were barely warm. The quality of the meat was not the same as we have experienced in the past. Also, I ordered my steak medium rare and it was cooked all the way through. I notified our waitress and I believe it was the manager she went and told. The manager came over and I showed her. We did not have time (as we waited a while for our food) for them to cook another one. She asked if she could get me another glass of wine. I agreed. My long history in the service industry made me think that was a nice gesture to make up for my disappointing meal. We were charged full price as well as for the extra glass of wine I anticipated was complimentary for our troubles. I have paid that same bill many times in the past happily because of our excellent experience, but this time it didn’t seem worth it. I’m not sure what’s going on here the past few months but the quality and high standards that were once there are no longer.

Absolutely perfect evening, thank you all so much! We could not have picked a better place to celebrate our parents 60 yr wedding anniversary! You went above and beyond to make our experience special, starting with the balloons and centerpiece. Food, service and atmosphere were second to none. Highly recommend the English Inn to anyone looking for a nice evening out.

Overall not too amazed by this place. The entrance looks nice, it’s cozy inside, things are relatively clean, and there can be some breathtaking views from the windows facing west. My main issue was the value of the food itself. The price doesn’t justify the quality but maybe times are tough when it comes to getting high quality cuts. The prime rib was mediocre and my twice baked potato was barren. The music choice over the speakers was great though and the staff was fantastic. If it wasn’t for our waiter Kevin, I’d probably be giving a 3 star review. Hopefully they prep their prime rib right so I can find a consistent place to go on Saturday nights. After working in a supper club for 6 years your expectations can get picky but $40 for an average entree is just taking advantage of people. The goat cheese salad was great. I’ll try again but mostly thanks to the staff and view.

We were on our way to Door County and checked the internet for a restaurant serving lunch. We stopped in and were just impressed with our service, appearance, cleanliness, the portion size and the food was awesome!
