We wanted to try this place because of all the awards & found it to have very interesting & good food. Not having had food from Venezuela, we asked a lot of questions & the staff was very helpful.

La Taguara is hands down one of my FAVORITE restaurants in Madison. I recommend it to everyone.I’ve been here several times. The staff are wonderful and helpful. The music reminds me of my childhood. For the food, everything on the menu is delicious. My personal favorite is La Bandejita Paisa. It’s the closest dish I’ve had in Madison to the traditional Colombian dish. It’s amazing. All the food is amazing. The portions are big and for a reasonable price. You’ll definitely be going home with left overs!Other dishes I’d recommend are:Appetizers: the sampler, Colombian EmpanadasIf you’re looking for a smaller lunch option, empanada lunch is a great option. (2 empanadas with soup)Otherwise La Bandejita Paisa and Churrasco Criollo are amazing!I still haven’t tried the stuffed Arepas, so I’ll definitely be back to try those!

This place was a hidden gem on our roadtrip. Interior was bright and fun as well as clean. Menu didn't have pricing so it was a little odd to order. Great portions and everything was hot and fresh. Everything felt exactly what the menu was going for.

This restaurant is always suggested by my out of town family as the place they want to go when they visit. It is so yummy and I love how friendly the staff is even if I have no idea what I want!

Parking: Parking lot only has 5 or so spots but I've never had a problem parking. If they were busy it would be a problem. There is street parking nearby.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs but the entryway would be tight to negotiate in a wheelchair. Parking lots needs to be repaved as well. I don't think they have door buttons either. I think you'd need help if you were in a wheelchair with the doors.

We picked up some empanadas (beef and cheese) tonight for dinner. They were so good! (Even the picky eater here liked them.) Two in the family also shared a Cuban sandwich and said it was delicious and the flavors were well balanced. Highly recommend this local restaurant with global flavors :)

Y’all are one of our absolute favorite restaurants of all time. So many delicious options, both that remind me of family faves and have been new tastes. Everything is amazing and both locations have something special to offer!Kid-friendliness: Great options for eaters of all palettes and my kid loved their house-made juice!
