While the baked goods are very good, the service is not. On a recent visit, I was the only person in the store. The lady behind the counter impatiently rushed me through my choices, did not listen to my responses and asked me repeatedly. She also rattled off a policy about a limit of how many dozen a person was able to purchase. Nowhere in the store was this policy posted so how is a customer supposed to know? She was very snippy and huffy while filling my order, and giving me dirty looks while I finally checked out. I was about to leave without purchasing anything but needed the baked goods for a small event going on that evening. Unfortunately, the attitude and treatment I received is enough to quit going to Hartman's. I will not set foot in there again nor will I recommend them to other people. There are other bakeries in the area. I sincerely hope this is not how the public at large is treated.

What’s not to love about this bakery? My kids and I love their donuts, cut out cookies are my favorite!! And my son’s birthday cake was so delicious! Super cute too! Lots of compliments on it. Everyone at the bakery is so helpful and nice. My bakery close to home retired so now I will drive 25 minutes to come here. And if I’m in town, I try to make a stop for something delicious

Probably the reason I gained 3 lbs. over Thanksgiving. I'm normally very calorie conscious but I'm obsessed with this place and usually amass a pretty impressive haul whenever I visit my mom. Everything is delicious but the apple pie bars, lemon bars, cutout cookies and the donuts are my go-to items. If you randomly filled up a box with goodies everything would be delicious though so don't overthink it too much.

Great neighborhood bakery. Only place in town with poppyseed berleiners and kolaches. So glad to see they re-opened after a terrible fire last year. I go there every time I visit Manitowoc.
Fabulous pastries. Would have rated 5 star but we visited Sunday morning at 9 am. A woman in front of us bought a couple of dozen baked goods one at a time and literally emptied the supply. Only one person behind the counter so everyone behind her had to watch helplessly as she emptied the trays. Bake more or have two people serving patrons..

So disappointed! I have been going to the Manitowoc location for years today I was disappointed. I came I. With gift certificate I bought in Manitowoc and was told that because they said Plymouth they couldn't be used. I've used them at previous times. This place had always been a destination stop when we visit. My visits will stop. I'll try the other bakery on State street

Went to Hartman's bakery today. Bought a donut and I would give it one star. It was dry overcooked burnt and even burnt. Unfortunately will not be back because this is not the first time that the donuts taste dry. Almost taste like there are a couple days old. This is unfortunate because I have an Airbnb a half of a block from here and I always recommend the bakery shop to the people that stay there. I can't recommend the bakery shop to the people that stay in my Airbnb.
