“1st time customerBeing a foodie, I continue to look for Chinese food that is worthy. I selected beef egg foo young because very few places can make it well. 4 patties, with sauce in a separate container. Enough to feed 2. The quality of the patties was A- and the sauce B+ (slightly sweet), that with a small amount of soy sauce corrects. I will be trying the shrimp egg foo young before moving on to other items. I asked the cook what his signature dish was, he replied General Chow Chicken. I am looking fwd to that.“
“Very friendly staff and efficient service. I've ordered takeout from them multiple times and the food has always been ready at the time the quote and it's always very delicious!Parking: Lots of parking, I've never had a problem finding a spot even during peak times.“
“Outstanding staff and delicious food. My favorites are orange chicken, lemon and sweet & sour chicken (both made with fried slice chicken breast), beef and vegetable stir fry with mandarin orange sauce, chinese salad, cream cheese puffs. Reasonable proces.“
“Had pork fried rice sweet and sour chicken. And crab rangoons. The fried rice was excellent although it was yellow which I'm not used to. The sweet and sour chicken was excellent. The chicken is very good cuts and the sweet and sour sauce is on the side so you get to decide how much you use. Well the rangoons were good the day of they could not be reheated well so I recommend eating them if you order them. Typical Chinese takeout atmosphere is less than friendly, but who cares when the food is good? It came fast enough that we didn't spend much time there anyway“
“I took my grandson for dinner last night and it was fabulous. We did the restaurant week offer and it was so good. The crab ragoon was the best I ever had, the soup dumplings were amazing and the dessert buns at the end with egg custard filling were so good. Will definitely be going back and enjoy other things on the menu also.Kid-friendliness: My grandson loved the décor and had to walk around and look at all the cool things they had on display and also absolutely loved the food.“
“Delicious! Great price. Its also authentic, which is important to me and can be hard to find in the midwest. I don't love the ambiance here for dining in the restaurant, but the food is really, really, good. Go for the food. By the way, don't try to park next to it, you see it's downtown!“
“Food was amazing. I never ate hot pot before. The lady who served the food helped me, possibly the owner?I had the kimchi broth with beef and veggies, Enochi mushrooms and quail eggs. Our table had shrimp fried rice, BBQ steam buns, crab Rangoon, combination Mai fun and Kung pow chicken Chinese style.Everything was amazing!“
“After having several menu items I can say that this place is absolutely wonderful! The red bean bun is delicious, the shrimp fried rice is delicious. Everything I've had here has been great. If you're putting off going, give it a try when you can! It's really good :)“
“A friend recommended this and we decided to try it spur of the moment - and what an excellent decision. Everyone was so kind and nice. The cocktails were delicious- a bit strong but that’s a good thing! We started with pot stickers which were surprisingly crispy and full of flavor. I had the Dan Dan Noodles which I was told were were spicy - which they were! But in a good way. By the bottom of the bowl I was craving the spice. My husband got the Braised Pork rice which was amazing as well. I really appreciate the kindness and service here. I cannot wait to return!“
“Great service, delicious food that came out piping hot, I ordered general Tso’s chicken special combination plate C9 my hubby ordered 322 beef with Szechuan style came out with lots of great vegetables and an eggroll and pork fried rice is included in that for a very reasonable price of $9.99. Most definitely recommend this place. Very sweet servers.“
“I've gotten takeout from here many times. Their Sichuan food is excellent. The boiled beef and three pepper chicken are my favorite items, but everything I have tried has been good. Never eaten inside, so I can't comment on service, but the staff has always been friendly when I am picking up my order.“
“The peanut butter chicken and General Tso's Chicken were outstanding. The beef and broccoli was okay. Massive amount of food for the money. The young lady that appears to run the place was so nice. The place was pretty busy with a steady stream of customers, yet service was basically immediate. I was kinda inebriated and looked kinda scruffy, but she still treated me very well. Also, she was right out there to wipe off the table next to me as soon as the guy eating there finished. Will be back soon!“
“I’ve been coming here for 6+ months, it is definitely my go to place for Chinese, the cashier is very friendlyTheir pork belly is really good, melts in your mouthThey sometimes have eggplant which I personally really like, their orange chicken is amazing as wellToday I tried their sweet n sour pork ribs?? IT WAS SOOOOO GOOD 1000/10Love this place“
“I love ramen. I love ramen way too much, as a matter of fact. After my go-to ramen place near campus went out of business, I was distraught. I've tried several other places, only to be entirely underwhelmed. However, my friend and I tried Umami yesterday, and I can say with certainty that it was some of the best ramen I have had. The noodles are made in-house, and it absolutely tastes like it (in the best way possible). Our server Sidney (apologies if that isn't how it is spelled) was the sweetest ever, and had plenty of suggestions for us. The ramen is a dollar or two more expensive than typical restaurant ramen, however, for the amount of meat they put in each bowl it is well worth it.My complaints are limited and greatly outweighed by the positive experience, but the only critiques I have are:- The bamboo in the ramen was a little bit too crunchy- Not a big fan of the extra charge for some spiciness, but it was pretty yummy- The N/A drinks are tasty, but not super worth the price for the amount you getThank you so much for a fantastic experience! Looking forward to coming back.“
“My friend brought me to Nani's last fall, and I fell in love with the dim sum and thought that this would be the perfect place to have our first event of the year. We were able to hold our meetup in a private room that was equipped with a bar (bartender, Kevin). Justin (the owner) and his team were amazing to work with. I highly recommend trying their dim sum and if you're looking for a spacious private room to hold an event, give them a call.“
“The food here is pretty darn good. If I had to consider the fact that this place is in Madison/WI, I'd give it a 5/5. But objectively speaking, it's above average. If you live here, it's probably one of the best you can get here.“
“Cute little family owned spot making authentic delicious Chinese food! Everything they make is super tasty. Usually Lo Mein or Fried Rice at other spots is dry and hard to consume but not at this location, perfectly seasoned and doesn't need additional sauces at all. Love their special spicy chili oil they have. Also have 2 adorable kids! Order from their actual website and you can use many coupons they offer. Free General Tsos Entree with $40 purchase!“
“3 Meats - $12 - Free SaucesTo the angels at Senjoy who filled my container so throughly that one needs a rubber band to close it. Thank You.May your days be merry and bright. May you know that you are loved and capable of loving. May no harm befall yourself or your kin. Know that the world needs you, and your absence will be mourned for eternity“
“Stopped by here for a quick bite. The service was really fast and we were greeted and seated almost immediately. The place has nothing special to it decor-wise. Wouldn't say it's a fancy place or anything. Most of the other patrons seemed to be college students. I was there with some old college friends and family. Great atmosphere to just catch up over food. The menu seemed to have more authentic Chinese food rather than focus on the Americanized things like Crab ragoons and orange chicken. They had bull frogs, duck, and other options. Very nice selection. And very fairly priced.I had the Mongolian beef. We also got country style pork and beef fried rice. All were generously portioned enough to share. The food tasted great and I will definitely be going back.OverallIf you're looking for good Chinese food location, this is a great spot. Beware their food isn't exactly like the typical Chinese-American restaurant (but they do have those options too). Not a place that would impress a date on the first night. But definitely would be great to go with friends. Only down side was we never got water refills.“
“Very friendly service and super fast food. Lots of indoor seating and the restaurant is very clean.I enjoyed eating off of real plates with real silverware. The portions were big, so we needed takeout containers. I was bummed to see horrible styrofoam offered, but glad to see that a regular more reusable plastic container was also available.Food was made well, but very mild“
“Hands down the best Chinese food in Madison. My son and I have been patrons of this fine establishment for more than a decade. Our favorites are Chicken Lo Mein, Sweet and Sour Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, Beef and Broccoli and their amazing Chicken Fried Rice! All excellent meals! I cannot even recommend them enough! You must try China Wok right NOW! You will not regret it!“
“The happy hour menu is amazing! The tuna rolls are good. The veg fried rice was excellent with the mushrooms and veggies cooked perfectly. Decent vegan/veg options. The Ramen soup looked amazing--the soft-boiled egg & pork belly looked excellent! Very tasty meal & with happy hour it was easy to keep ordering food for a great price. The initial door host was a little rude--not welcoming or friendly at all ("Reservations?" was how she greeted us) but the waitstaff & barstaff were great.“
“The food I ordered is so gooood. I never been to the restaurant and it’s been there for years. A friend suggested and I’m glad went. The food is amazing. I got theSzechuan tofu, small shrimp fried rice, and shrimp Singapore I’m telling you the hype is real.“
“One of the best take out chinese food places around. Yes it's better than other chaing jangs. I don't know why. The products are better and they are cooked better.Only complaint is I get over cooked lo mien if I don't specify it to be al dente. We always go to this one when we are hungering for some comfort food.“
“Pretty standard Chinese food, it's good. Best on the north side. The rice is usually cooked perfectly. Besides Tai's on the west side, this is my favorite place to order Chinese from in Madison, because they have honey walnut shrimp. ?They also have very fast delivery when it's available.Overall, good place to order from.“
“11/23 update. Had the Dragon & Phoenix chef special and it was really good. I didnt think it was hot or spicy as they said it was.. but it was good. I will order it again. Quality Chinese for restaurant.Original post: It is classic Chinese food, but made well. Nothing special about it. I'm glad to have a Chinese restaurant near my little town.“
“Found this hidden gem randomly. Food is delicious and authentic. The server is super friendly but she does not speak English. You can order by number as shown on menu. Free soft drink comes with the dishes for each person. Cheaper pricing than other Chinese restaurants nearby. Will definitely come back to try more dishes!“
“Food was pretty good. I think we were the only people trying the Chinese food on a Thursday night. We saw many people doing pick up. I'd suggest their black pepper chicken and governor's chicken. Due to the lack of people the buffet food was just slightly more stale but that's kind of expected for buffets. Worth a trip if your looking for a buffet in Waunakee. For desserts they also have ice cream available.“
“Amazing food. Excellent staff members, extremely professional. I appreciate this buffet very much it's different then the others I've tried before. Quality food for sure!! and I'm really mad that I live so far but when I visited Wisconsin last I needed to try it out and I was impressed. ?“
“Updating my review because this restaurant saved my life during the lockdown. They are fast, always get my orders right, and have some really delicious things on the menu. I think my experience below was uncommon. Their egg drop soup is delicious, their fried rice and noodle dishes are flavorful and delicious. They put a lot of pork and chicken into the dishes if you order one of those. Maybe don't get shrimp, but do eat here!Ordered the Mongolian shrimp and got literally 6 shrimp and a bunch of onions. Don't get shrimp from them; it's a rude rip-off. That is not Mongolian shrimp, even by low American standards.“
“Dragon City has been around in Verona for years, and the food's always been good. My family of 6 often orders from here to get more than enough food for all 6 people, and I don't think we've ever had an order error, bad food, etc. Nothing like that. And regardless of anything else, it's always ready in 15 minutes haha.Vegetarian options: They have multiple options on their menu that are veggies only, and I believe they only use vegetable oil in their cooking.“
“Vegetable potstickers did not taste good at all. Ordered veggie spring rolls and received deep fried egg rolls that were mostly breading and also not very good. I ordered tomato cilantro soba and my husband ordered mapo tofu, both very bland, although we should have known that as there was no way to indicate spice level. We had our order delivered and the food did arrive hot.Vegetarian options: Very limited vegetarian options“
“I have been eating delicious Chinese food from here for a decade. The quality is consistent and high, the prices are reasonable, my order has never been wrong, the staff are friendly, the service is prompt, and did I mention the food is delicious? No need for another Chinese takeout spot - this one checks every box for me!“
“Great food! My dish was on the salty side, but yummy! The pork eggrolls were very good! Third best in Madison area in my opinion. Server was very pleasant but never very vigilant. It was a warmer day but I wore a hoodie because restaurants are usually pretty cold. Wow! Thank god I wore my hoodie! Jet of cold air blowing on me the whole time. Even my partner who is less cold sensitive remarked how much nicer it was outside than inside the restaurant.Parking: We found on very close to the front door. We were ahead of the dinner rush. If we had arrived about 30 minutes later it may have been a different story. My experience in this area suggest at the peak meal period you could probably find parking within a block or two.“
