Jose's has the best salsa in town. I've been eating at this restaurant for years. When attending a birthday celebration there, I was surprised to see they had freshened the walls, changed all the large artwork and the light fixtures. It is a pleasant place to visit anytime.
As far as Mexican food goes it’s below par. We went on a Saturday night at 6:00pm which I would think is peak time. It took about 30 mins to get a seat which wasn’t bad but then the food took at least 1 hour. At least we had plenty of chips and salsa for the wait… we weren’t very hungry once the food came. Usually food is good here, but a friend and I both ordered the blackened sea bass tacos, and they were unusually fishy tasting, and they should be mild tasting. So, I'm not sure if it was old fish or wasn't sea bass at all. Another friend said the Lucky Lake fish tacos (cod) were very good.
