Disappointing experience. It’s a bit confusing that there are so many positive reviews because there is SO much opportunity for improvement here. From the outdated/gaudy decor to the $2.75 per glass of club soda, to the poor wine selection, incorrect bill and out of stock items, there was so many things I wish were different. The French onion soup was okay but oversalted. The crabcakes were not cakes at all—they were giant soggy crab balls. The fries were not hot or crispy, and there was an up-charge for nearly everything our party ordered. The service was fine but not great, and the view was good—we were able to see the lake from our table. Thank goodness we had great conversation and were able to enjoy each other because the restaurant itself was not a positive experience.

Been awhile since I was at the Hob Knob. And I remember why. Bad and dated. The food was over priced and the service very very slow. To be honest I have had better steaks with more flavor at the Texas Road House. Time for a change at this place. Hopefully the new owner make some big changes.

Food was cold when we finally got it. Long wait time for food. Highly expensive. Waitress good and was apologetic.

Went for valentines dinner. Have always enjoyed this environment. Was very sadly disappointed. Prices continue to go up Service seems to be less attention to detail was last in portion sizes keep Shrinking. Yeah, I’m crying potatoes were smaller and the spinach salad is smaller prices haven’t changed Service has gotten worse the hostess spends most her time running around looking important and the weight staff seems to be tripping over themselves blocking customers or running into them. The bathroom had thrash can overflow. We order a to go dinner when we ordered our dinner. It arrived before our salads and sat there through our meal. Not fine dining. So disappointed.

We had an amazing dinner. We arrived a little early to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. We had a reservation for dinner and we were seated promptly inside the main dining area. Our waiter was very pleasant. This is the first time we didn’t order a steak dinner. We both chose seafood and we both agreed it was fabulous. No room for dessert. Recommend making a reservation it gets busy.

Service was ok. But for the prices.. better attention should be offended. Missing silverware, no checking in between courses...minor. but makes a huge impact.

I had always wanted to try this restaurant and I should have left it like that. Best part was the Old Fashioned drinks. We ordered mussels for the table, many of them were bad. I ordered duck. It was cooked to a dried out mess, super disappointing. Probably should have gone with beef but I rarely get to eat duck and thought for the price I would get a high quality meal. The rest of the table of 6 was hit and miss. All of us agreed we didn't need to come back.
It was everything we heard and more! Hob Nob is located lakeside with breathtaking views. From the moment we entered, we knew it was going to be an excellent "supper club" evening. The atmosphere, the people, the cocktails, dinner, and the decor were outstanding. After all, who doesn't like hearing a little Sinatra while sipping on an Old Fashioned and enjoying a great night ?

Went tonight (saturday) with a 4 person birthday celebration. Arrived at 4:30. Table received 1st drink at 5. Soup at 5:30. Very salty and cold, baked French onion. Salad at 6. Spinach dressing was very vinegar based. Prime rib and baked potato, served at 6:30, two HOURS after seating. Prime rib and potato was so cold, the butter would not melt in potato and Prime rib auj ju was starting to gel up. Prime rib tough, cold and no flavor. $56........ spent $78 for dinner and 2 pellegrinos (water). I'm no stranger to spending money on great food, but this is NOT it.

I was so excited and looked forward to having the prime rib. When I received my plate, on my first bite, my meat was cold and dry not juicy. The place was very busy and the waitress would check in very quickly. I was dining with a business client and didn’t want to create a scene so I let it be. Probably will have to look elsewhere for a supper club place near Milwaukee. We made reservations way in advance and requested main room. Instead we got the overflow room. On the way to our table, there were empty four plus tables on the main room. We asked if it’s available and they said it was taken. I was perplexed because there was no one waiting at the time we were there.

Returned to HN to celebrate 39th anniversary of first date there. Wow, many nice changes! Bussling supper club! Old fashioneds were pretty tasty. Bartender focused his attention on a few customers and barely spoke with us. Ordered ahead and found a nice bottle of wine and to-die- for Oysters Rockefeller greeting us at our table. Spinach salad with bacon dressing left us wanting more. However, a little disappointed with the NY Strip and Filet Mignon. More seasoning and char would easily spark up an unexpectedly bland cut of prime beef. Waiter was friendly and General Manager was a delight . Restrooms required attention. Might consider a sooner return to the iconic HN. Would definitely order the oysters and spinach salad again. But for the entree we'd explore other non-steak menu options and perhaps take a dive into a chocolate grasshopper.
