“The new owners of this bar have done a great job giving it a second life. The kitchen got a full renovation. They added an outdoor patio and have live music in the summer. I tried their strawberry kiwi seltzer, which was tasty and refreshing. My dad had a few of their beers and really enjoyed them. I tired the pulled pork sandwich which was new to the permanent menu due to customer request. It was delicious! The fried pickles and cheese curds were great too. Can't wait to go back in the summer.”

“We have found our new "happy place!"It's called "Whispers" and it's right on the banks of the Maunesha River in Waterloo.The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the happy, friendly staff. Thank you Penny, for making us feel so welcomed.The place was clean and the service was exceptional!Even the patrons seemed lively and inviting.The atmosphere was tastefully done with a lot of unique, quaint and interesting memorobelia.The large, new deck on the outside was gorgeous with its backdrop of the river and all the natural beauty that comes along with it, including the beautiful wildlife.Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we learned there is going to be LIVE MUSIC!Time for me to head to "Shoe-La-La" for some comfortable dancing shoes! “Had breakfast here on a Sunday morning so the cafe was quite busy. The waitstaff was excellent and I received my order probably 3 minutes after ordering. I had the country fried steak and eggs. The food was hot and everything was cooked to perfection. Will absolutely be stopping back when traveling through Waterloo.”

“My partner had been here years ago, so we were on the beaten path and stopped in. Only 1 other person besides the outgoing friendly bartender. The place looked the way alot of old taverns in small towns off the beaten path look. The original owners of these types of historic structures basically built a 2 story house with a separate entrance on the lower level for a small tavern. The folks who began trickling in were friendly & open to unfamiliar faces, and we stayed for 2nds to enjoy the laughs and stories.So take a left , drive the "off the beaten path" back roads, and slam on the brakes when you see beers signs, and an American flag in the front parking 'Lawn', and stop in!”

“It's an upscale brewery on the inside. They have several beers ? on tap to meet anyone's taste. For the non beer lovers. They have some interesting seltzers available. They have a different food menu that peaks your interest. The food we had was very good. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful ? We were very happy we stopped and will be back. They have a large patio next to the building to enjoy the weather.”

“Visiting friends inMadison. They took us here on Friday night for fish. We were very happy with our food &:service. I had the baked cod my husband the fried cod. Our friends had wings & Bluegill. Nice sized bar & large eating area. They have many choices of beer from the taproom. All the tables were full when we left. That is always a good sign.”

“This is a great small-town spot! My friend and I were coming back from a bikepacking trip on the nearby bike trail, and this little pub gave us everything we wanted.Jalapeno poppers, mac & cheese bites, and fried cod were all delicious!Tasty food, cool and cozy decor, and very friendly staff. We had a great chat with the locals and with bartender/server/cook/bar owner Kim and her husband Tim. Very welcoming and friendly bunch here, check them out when you're in town!”

You can't really go wrong with anything on their menu. This is the kind of food that feeds your soul. The wait staff calls you honey. “Local bar, owner is awesome, fish fry was pretty good, burgers are decent, orange and black biker theme.Parking: Maybe 10 cars or so before it's pretty packed parking is available along south side of Old hwy G and has been recently de-brushed and trees thinned.Kid-friendliness: Kiddie cocktails, place is pretty tame within normal lunch dinner hours, mostly locals”

“Great place that has been serving burgers for close to 100 years. Deep fried in lard these sliders (0.2lbs each) go down easy. I would get 2-3 of these depending on hunger. They come "with" or "without" (fried onions) and also have the optional slice of cheese.”

“We went on a Friday. It was busy (just like any good fish fry on a Friday night) but we ordered at the bar and didn't have to wait too long.The fish is delicious (We had Walleye and Cod). Boneless wings were big and tossed in the sauce and the cheese curds and tots we had were really good.”
